Budget Right Kitchens LTD., DBA Budget Right Handyman

I was quoted a price of $785.00 per day and the work would require 2 days. I contacted Matt and decreased the work so it would be one day. He asked me to call when I was ready to start work. I called and left a message in May and have not heard from them since.

Our handyman arrived a few minutes early, and was very polite. I described the jobs, and left him to it. He was finished with 45 minutes left for our 2 hours. I was ready to pay him, when he pointed out he had more time. So I had him hang our fire detectors. He was very nice, prompt, and honest. Thank you!

They were on time, they were quick and took care of it within an hour. I had no problems with the service. They were very professional and I would highly recommend them to others that are needing this type of service.

Took advantage of the big deal. Contractor arrived on time. Friendly. Courteous. Looked at the area that we wanted repaired. He had to run to the home depot to get the materials. While on the clock. He came back started on replacing the outlet. Left the plastic prongs inside the outlet. Could not use outlet because of that. He tried to repair the wall. He did a sloppy job. Drywall was hanging down. and he didn't finish. Said his two hours was up and he had to go. Left drywall with the holding strips exposed. No plaster. My dad who was already at my home doing other repair work for me told the guy that he would finish the job and he did. Tried to help my dad out by getting someone else in to take some of the pressure off of him, but my dad ended up redoing everything this guy did.

I purchased a "deal" for 2 hours of handyman service for $98.00. I requested that an undermount sink be repaired. The job was scheduled and the handyman came out looked at it -- and then spent the entirety of the two hours shopping for clips he deemed necessary to secure the sink to the countertop, ultimately leaving a message claiming he was unable to find suitable clips. I contacted Handyman Matters. They sent someone who outlined the option of installing the sink with clips or propping the sink up with a support. I chose the latter option and the sink is now working. I raised these issues via message to the provider immediately afterwards. I have received no response so I am posting this review. My $98 was completely wasted.

I found Budget Right through Angie's list and used the messaging system to send a message about our rear basement door, which was so difficult to close that I couldn't even do it any more. Matt contacted me the next morning via email and then by phone and asked some questions about the problem. He clearly explained their billing and minimums, and he offered to have someone come out on Monday 6/30 (this was on Thursday, 6/26) somewhere between 3 and 5. Today, Bob Cordes called and said he was running early and could he come by at 1:30, which worked great for me. He called just as he arrived, reviewed their minimums and paperwork, etc. again, and then started to work on our basement door. He was able to give me a little primer on how doors are installed and had it adjusted in no time. Since we were still well under the 2 hour minimum, we also asked Bob to look at our garage service door, which doesn't always lock fully and the lock on the gate that leads from our property into our alley. In no time, Bob had everything working beautifully, and we're thrilled to not be slamming our doors and jiggling our locks anymore! We're already thinking about a list of other small projects that Budget Right, and Bob, could take on for us. Best of all, Bob was great with our rescue dog and she loved him! Thanks for a great experience!

I had a list of minor projects to be done, so I hired person for entire day. He was unable to finish list and did not even look at some things. Took a very long time to do what I needed. Spent 1.5 hours just putting in a new kitchen faucet, without any drilling, etc. - just taking out old one and putting in new one in same holes. Installed it so hot was on wrong side. Pointed it out, he adjusted it and it was wrong second time. Third time he got it right. He charged me for the entire time to fix his mistakes. He had to run to hardware store for five things for my repairs. He made a list and yet did not come back with the right things. He took two hours to go to Home Depot and back though store within 5 miles and it was a weekday. He charged me the hourly service rate for those two hours. Left a big hole in my wall from just mounting a hook. So I have to undo the hook he mounted and spackle the wall and then hang the hook again that I paid him to do. Could not believe he would leave a hole in the wall. He did fix a couple things well but overall a disappointing and expensive experience for minor handyman issues. I used them because they had multiple A ratings on this list, was very surprised at the quality. I waited ten days to get an appointment, too, thought that was a sign I would be waiting for someone good.

I was satisfied with the shelf installation and the faucet repair. I was completely dissatisfied with the installation of system to hang the bike hooks. The work was not done properly Anchors and a wood brace were required. I had explained what needed to be done and why it was necessary to support the weight. The anchors and brace were not properly installed and the system failed. Another contractor did the installation to my satisfaction. I did not report this matter to the contractor because I had already had a less than acceptable with Dirk regarding the terms of the coupon.

EPIC FAIL!!!! On June 25th at 10:30 am, I started receiving phone calls that the contractor would be 30 minutes late. I received 3 addtitional calls with the same message. At 12:00 pm I received a from the contractor that he was 45 minutes away. So the contractor arrived at 1:05 pm and asked me sign an arrival time of 1:00 pm. Sure no problem, let's just get the work done. I showed the contractor the two boards that needed to be replaced. He said, "okay should only take an hour, I will just nail it in." I told him I would prefer deck screws since it is a deck.He said,"okay, I'm going to get the supplies." An hour later I called him to ask - how long would it take to buy two deck boards and deck screws. He said, "I will call you back." He called me back and said I spoke with my manager and I'm not coming back because I don't know how to do this kind of work. WTH??? So I waited for Budget Right Handymen to call me back with more details. Absolutely no response. I called Budget Right and left a voice message. As of today - they have returned my call and will be looking into the problem. The good thing is that I did not have work completed that would cost more down the road because the person had no idea how to do it. I did find a new handyman on Angie's List - Felipe Sanchez - he came out the same day and completed the work in two hours. It cost me a little more but I am okay with the professionalism and the timeliness!

I contacted Budget Right to re-attach one (1) awning that had become partially detached after a recent storm and to paint a total of five (5) awnings. Based upon the scope of work, I was given an estimate that the work may take up to eight (8) hours, which suited me just fine, especially after reading quite a few glowing reviews on the website. So after establishing a date and time for service, I gleefully went out to purchase paint for the project and decided to splurge by purchasing $50/gallon paint. After all, professional service deserved professional paint. I took Wednesday, July 10th off from work and eagerly awaited Budget Right Handyman Ken to arrive at 8 am. He was approximately 45 minutes late; however, I was not deterred. Ken evaluated the scope of work and came to the conclusion that the work scope would require two (2) workers due to the degree of difficulty in accessing the awnings across the span of the 50 year old evergreens in front of the windows. ?Okayyyy?..? was my response. He then went on to explain that the job would cost more than originally quoted and that he would need to call into the office to see if someone else was available to assist. As Ken made his call, I stood outside in the heat of that July sun and started to get the feeling that my awnings were not going to get painted any time soon. After his phone call, he confirmed that no one was immediately available and that I would need to reschedule, so we focused our attention on the dangling awning. Upon inspection, Ken discovered that he could only make a temporary repair due to the condition of the mortar between the bricks. He explained that before a more permanent repair could be made, some tuck pointing was needed and Budget Right was not licensed to perform such a task. The temporary solution was acceptable. As we settled up for the final bill, Ken off-handedly remarked that he was kind of glad he was finished with this job because he had a wedding reception to attend. With that comment, all became abundantly clear. From the onset, I had gotten the distinct impression that Ken was less than enthusiastic about the project, but I dismissed that notion as being due to the summer heat. Whereas I readily admit that the project may have been more involved than anticipated, I also believe that Ken was not prepared to put in eight (8) full hours of work as originally quoted. From this singular experience, I would not be inclined to call Budget Right Handyman for any of my small to mid-size projects.

This was my first time working with Budget Right Handyman and I have to agree with all the reviews. The service and quality speak volume. The work was complete and much to my satisfaction. Steve is the name of the worker they sent. He arrived on time and got to work immediately wasting no time, I had a laundry list of things to do, and I certainly appreciated him hitting the ground running. As I said to Steve before he began to work, although price is important, I am most interested in service and quality, if you do a good job, you will hear from me again! As the Honey Do List still has unfinished work, I will be calling Budget Right Handyman. Thanks Guys, great job!

My call was handled promptly and courteously and I requested Aaron who has been here before There was a 2 week wait for him but since he has done this job for me in the past I was willing to wait. As always Aaron was on time and within minutes had the unit installed. I did not have additional work for him to do this time but I was happy to pay the 2 hour minimum for the quality of his work. I like this company. They are always nice on the phone; there's never any problems with scheduling or service person running late or any of the typical other things that can go wrong with other companies.

He worked quickly and got the tasks completed in 4 hours. He seems to really know how to repair stuff. Other companies I called did not want the work since it included repairing the window jambs.

It went perfect. I was impressed, he made sure everything was nice and neat. He was perfectly clean and got the job done quickly. I'm so happy with him. He didn't leave no mess whatsoever.

There were no troubles with scheduling and no additional fees. He was accommodating. It is very hard to find someone who is capable, reliable, and communicates well and he does all of that. It turned out very well.

They were very efficient, on time, and did what he was supposed to.

It went great. They did odd and ends types of things for me around the house. I've already asked them to come back and do more work.

Very professional and did quality work. We will have the services come back to install a new toilet and bedroom window blinds. Was not able to do electrical work as insurance did not cover the kind of wiring we have.

Went well. One of the doors that was loose became loose again rather soon, and I was looking for a longer term solution. Other than that, everything went well, provider was punctual and polite.

They were great. They were efficient, fast, and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves. I would be happy to use them again in the future if needed. They came on time and the work was of high quality. They were professional to work with.

That turned out well. I had them clean the garage and move some furniture out on my deck. Two handyman came out and I would definitely use them again.

It was a very pleasant and productive experience. Work was done more quickly than I had anticipated and much more was done than I had even hoped for. I would hire him again!
