The grab bars in the bathroom went ok. We had to make some compromises due to the location of the studs. However the handy man did not come prepared for the job despite me telling them on the phone what needed to be done. He didn't have the necessary drill bits for drilling into tile. I needed to buy a longer grab bar but then I ended up having to buy the drill bits he needed for the tile which were 3 in total at $9 a piece. The toilet internals were replaced but the problem wasn't really fixed. The dishwasher was anchored correctly again into the granite but it was done a bit sloppily. In the end I felt like the work was done but it wasn't very professional. Update: It looks like on their web site they mention that they will charge time for going out and buying materials. I should have looked closer at that. However I wish they would have stressed this when I called for the appointment so there would have been no surprises. I'll leave my original wording up so the comment from the company makes sense. I did speak to them about the toilet internals not being properly installed. I don't think they handled it very well since I was told by the dispatch person that someone would call me back about it. However only the original person who came to work on it called me back about it. He defended his work and said that in the total work hours, the toilet swapping did not take much anyway. I feel a bit better but most likely will not use them again.

Let me preface this by saying that I never write bad reviews. If I don't like the service, I simply don't go back. But this merits an exception. First off, I needed a one-story stairwell painted. My husband is extremely handy and basically rebuilt our entire building, but I figured I'd give him a break and hire someone to paint the stairwell since the Angie's List deal was pretty good. That was a bad idea. We have painted our entire building ourselves, so we know how much time it takes to complete a project. The stairwell was already taped. The handyman needed to do some spackling and painting. It shouldn't take more than 3 hours. I sent the company pictures of the stairwell, and we were told this was a five hour job. We said that's fine, although we thought the painter could finish quicker, but would assume he would have the integrity to not MAKE the job take five hours. It didn't matter. He showed up this morning WITHOUT ANY SUPPLIES and then told us it would take 8 hours. We told the service that we would supply the paint, but assumed that the handyman who knew exactly what he was tasked to do this morning, would bring the supplies. He did not. And then he wanted to charge us for the time it would take for him to go get the supplies. How absurd. I have NEVER had a handyman arrive to do a job without the basic tools necessary and then have the audacity to tell us he would charge us for the time and supplies. That is insane. And when we told him that, he responded by telling us that it is a "time and labor company," and asked us who we expected him to charge. I wanted to tell him that the cost of basic supplies is normally factored into the cost of the job. Duh. Then HE STORMED OUT OF OUR HOME and told us to "hire someone else." I have never had an experience like this before. I will NEVER hire these people again. This guy was beyond pale in his unprofessionalism. As far as I can see it, the "deal" was simply a scam to get customers in the door. It was basically a bait and switch. We didn't fall for it. Also, this company needs to tell its employees that they should not call the customer "dude" until they know each other better. All in all, a total failure of a service. I would rate this service an F minus if I could.

We are renting out our condo and needed to have a list of minor repairs done. We were short on time and confidence to do any of the repairs ourselves. Ken came out and handled all but one item which he advised needed a professional plumber. He listened to our concerns and what we thought needed to be done, he advised or steered us in the right direction for materials and handled all the repairs and installations. We were charged a fair hourly rate (we needed more than the 2 hours we mistakenly purchased for the original deal). He got to work and was professional and efficient with his time. Cannot ask for more than that. If we ever need more work, we'll definitely call on Ken and Budget Right again, or will refer them to friends who ask.

The price was very reasonable. He was a very fast and consciences working. He did a great job and I was very pleased.

He did more than I asked him in the time frame I had. It was a good experience. I have used this provider in the past and have always been pleased with the end results.

The technician said that he needed to get replacement bulb to repair the strand of lights. Then he called me the next day and said that the bulb kept blowing and he would need to do more repair. Then I never heard back from him. About 2 and a half weeks ago, I called the company and spoke to Matt, who is the owner I believe. Matt said he would get the status of my lights, but he has yet to call me back. We have paid them and still don't have the job complete.

Bob Cordes from Budget Right called as soon as I purchased the home tune-up from Angie's list. We set up a time for him to come by a week later. I decided I needed a couple of things done a few days after booking the appointment and contacted Angie's List. Bob called me to ask about the specifics and said they should be no problem. Bob came early and was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He was great with my dog, very personable and spent time explaining everything to me during the tune-up. He then set to the work of quickly doing everything on my checklist and gave me very helpful hints for getting future work done. I will definitely be contacting Budget Right and Bob, specifically, in the future!

Alberto was very thorough and was quick to go from one project to the next. Will hire again to do a lot more work needed!

He showed up late, but he did call me to let me know that he was going to be late. I have an outdoor closet and I had an outlet that needed replaced. He took half an hour, complaining the whole time about how old the outlet was and also about the previous person who worked on it. I was going to replace my dining room light with a fixture that has a fan. He told me it was going to take two hours to do the job, when I have had someone in the past take only half an hour to do a similar job. All he did was argue and complain, and I finally asked him to leave. He had a really negative attitude.

I had no trouble scheduling an appointment with the handyman and he showed up on time--all good. However he provided what I would say was incorrect advice on two of the three projects I proposed and then never followed up with the written estimates he had promised. I would not recommend.

It went GREAT! Nathaniel was fantastic . What I thought was the problem was not the problem. Nathaniel diagnosed the problem immediately and made the repairs with no trouble. Even though the work on the sink leak and garbage disposal was originally preformed by someone else who created a bigger problem Nathaniel had no problem correcting the problem and stopping the leak. I highly recommend this company, and especially Nathaniel.

The job would have taken longer than what the deal covers.

Nate replaced a showerhead, replaced moldy bathtub grout , and replaced a toilet seat that had difficult hardware. He worked hard and was really nice.

It went very well. I believe I received the proper service at a very fair price. I will likely use Budget Right in the future. Everybody was friendly and the whole deal was drama free.

I don't remember the representatives name now but he was courteous, worked quietly and neatly. The jobs that needed addressing were small and simple to repair so, he wasn't at the house for long

Handyman arrived right on time. He was courteous, quick and professional. I would definitely use this service again in the future.

Went well. I had a problem with the door entry way leading to the garage, and they fixed it. They also finished putting together and installing the dog run kit I had purchased in my back yard. It works beautifully.

They repaired some holes in my walls that were placed while lighting was installed. They did a great job, but they clean up was not as great as I would've liked.

First let me preface by saying that their first visit out they did an acceptable job so I called them back out for more work. This time it was electrical work which they are not proficient at. Because of this I had to call them back out to try and correct the problems that were created from their previous visit. Unfortunately they were unable to correct and I am now in a situation whereby I have to pay an electrician to hopefully right their wrong. I was still charged for a job poorly done. I did leave several messages for their manager, Tim but they all went unanswered. Pathetically unprofessional if you ask me.

All went well. Richard was on-time and courteous. He was honest with me about the costs and benefits of doing any of the work (e.g. recommended not doing any weatherstripping to the windows, as it wouldn't make any tighter of a seal). He worked efficiently and did a great job. My only complaint was with scheduling, for which I believe I spoke with someone else. I had to do a bit more followup to get a response than I would have expected.

We called this service, after having purchased a coupon for 2 hours of work after I purchased a new door handle and lock for our Larsen screen door, only to realize that the new one didn't match the old one. Since the door did not close properly, we figured we'd need some carpentry work to align the door, in addition to to the drilling new holes in the door. The service person arrived promptly and completed the job. He did seem a bit put off when I asked him to also tighten railings on our deck porch. I did that because it was a job that needed to be done and we still had some time left on the clock. Still, the door has been working fine--it closes and locks and is properly aligned--so I would use this service again.

Went great. Tenants were not there when he arrived but he called later when he had an opening and came back.

Alberto did a nice job installing the safety straps to my large piece of furniture. It was a quick assignment to screw a 2 fabric strip to the wall into stud then screw into top of furniture. When Alberto arrived at my house I had prior to his arrival neatly set up the area to have ceiling painted. All furniture was moved out of the room by me in advance. A large tarp was covering the floor. I had before the visit covered to light fixture hanging from the ceiling with painters plastic. I brought up my two story adjustable ladder from basement and it was in the room. I set up a second tarp with paint tray and disposable liner. I provided on second tarp literally 4 types of trim roller with clean disposable roller and replacement rollers and two different styles of long stick rollers for extended reach with clean fresh disposable rollers and a paint brush and stir sticks and tape. When the job was finished I asked that the tray liner and used roller be taken to outside trash and the can lid replaced. On the way out some small drops of paint were dripped in the house going outside on wood floor and carpet. In the driveway where I keep my trash cans there are small but noticeable drips of light paint on my newly paved driveway. Alberto was adding a top coat to an already painted ceiling in the same color but with a different gloss as the paint so there was no need to be really detailed in corners or edges. When he was painting he complained that the paint I provided was not the same color as before which it absolutely 100% was. I think what happened was that even though I provided clean rollers for the job when the contractor used an improperly cleaned roller he brought to the job it made the paint dingy and darker in some spots. The paint is uneven and needs to be redone. After Alberto left I brought my infant daughter downstairs and was not watching her very closely. Alberto had left the paint mixing stick in the can with the lid off and my baby grabed the stick and got paint all over my floor. I need to repaint ceiling again.

Matt was very methodical. His experience was apparent in the professional approach how he analyzed a situation. His recommendations for other unrelated work was much appreciated. I'm so glad I found him on Angie's list.
