Daniel is a specialist with doors - and he was great. He fixed one steel door (required grinding), one bathroom folding door, one closet and installed a new bathroom vent. He also gave me advice on how much we can do in the time alotted (very important). He had all the tools, knew exactly what to do, worked efficiently, and managed his time well. An excellent handyman - and I need him back and I will be hiring him again.

The service worked out fine. What stands out the most was that the carpenters were fast. They had a crew here for several days straight to get it done. It was quick I thought and believe.

The handyman arrived on time for service.Pete was polite, and reviewed my list.He put plastic on my drafty kitchen windows. He fixed bifold doors that were off track. He installed two replacement toilet seats, and replaced a pull string light that broke off. He changed light bulbs to led types. He used time efficeintly, and did his work with care. If I need the 2 hr special in the future, I would request Pete. It was a pleasant experience.

Nate was going to be a little late and called to inform me of this. When he arrived he assessed the job and finished it all in 2 hours. He used some of the leftover patching material to fill some random drywall dings I had in my home. Cleaned everything up- was very professional.

Let me start by saying my husband is a wonderful guy, but home improvement and repairs are not listed under his top skills. So if I want to eliminate his frustration and our arguing, I hire people. My mantra: "It's cheaper than a divorce." So I was so happy to find Budget Right Handyman on Angie's List! I needed someone to do a variety of tasks to make our new apartment more space efficient and Budget Right Handyman fit the bill.I got an instant response to my phone inquiry and an hourly estimate based upon what I wanted done. Steve was at our house on time and started working immediately. Very efficient. He took down the closet organizers, packed them in his truck and drove to our apartment in Chicago, where he began his work. (You are paying by the hour. So my husband and I went to home depot, got the materials we anticipated he would need the night before he arrived. As a precaution, I asked my dad t.o hang out with me while the work was being done, just in case an additional trip to the hardware store was needed. In that way, I could still direct the work to be done while Dad ran to the store. Turns out that no additional materials were needed.) I found Steve to be very knowledgeable about the old electricity system in our building, plaster walls, etc. So he knew just what was needed to get everything done the right way. I booked a day and a half of time for everything on my punch list to be done. So guess what, my husband was so pleased with all that Steve did, that he created an additional list of to-dos! So, I know that I will be using Budget Right Handyman again soon. I will be asking for Steve specifically, as my husband and I really liked his work, his punctuality, his suggestions about how to do things and his "can do" attitude.

It worked out fine. He was willing to take on a variety of tests. There were no issues. Their professionalism and quality of work were very good.

Wanted to charge an additional fee of $25.00 for travel. Seemed nice and polite when I said that I didn't want to continue with the deal.

Matt called to confirm the appointment and that Ken would be doing the work. Ken called to advise me the day of our appointment that he would be about 15 minutes, so far, everything was very professional and as expected. I helped Ken with parking at the building and getting necessary tools up to our apt. The ceiling light was the first project to cover and why I purchased this 2 hour handyman deal from angie's list. Long story short, the hole which was drilled into the concrete ceiling was not properly measured so that the suspension of the light was straight down from mounts, but rather pulled at both mounting points. I also had another company installing a closet at the time. Ken apparently didn't have a monkey wrench with him to cleanly tighten the anchor bolt which is an aesthetic element of the fixture and hence "chewed" up the bolt some. My wife and I discussed it and reviewed pictures online to confirm how it was too look. We should have mentioned it immediately. I texted Ken a picture and message the next day and unfortunately didn't ever receive a response. I ended up sending an email to Matt a day or so later with a picture of the work and our concerns. A couple days later I received a call from Matt to set an appointment and that he would come out to inspect and correct if necessary himself. He came out and drilled a new hole and the it's now hanging as designed. I respect that they completed the job, but it also created some additional work to me as their client.

It involved drilling into granite and the company said that they didn't do that kind of work. They referred me to a granite company.

He came out and we ran into some parking issues. The deal just didn't work out for me so I have decided to not go forward with this deal.

I have used this service before, and had good results, so I was planning to use them again this fall to disassemble my screen room and put it into storage in the garage, which is about a 4-hour job. I have been calling and leaving messages every 2 or 3 days for the last two weeks, and haven't gotten a single response. I've called at different times of the day, when they're supposed open and when they aren't. All I ever get is voicemail, and no one ever calls me back. Very disappointing.

The job went very well. Pete worked quickly and efficiently. Informed me of the challenges presented by the new gate; and also by the caulk I purchased prior to the job. Also talked with me about condition of my fence and showed me where wood was beginning to rot. Overall, rating of A as he educated me as well as doing the job. Very pleasant experience!

The handyman arrived about 20 minutes later than expected. He was personable and was able to do the repairs. He did leave a mess, leaving debris from the ceiling all on the floor and tracked it through the house. The old mailbox was just left in the middle of the front lawn. While he provided the work at the deal rate for 2 hours, I did not understand that he was selling the work in only 2 hour blocks so when the work was done at the 5 hour mark, I was surprised that I had to pay for the 6th hour.

Aaron was great, very professional and we now have a working garage door. We'll definitely use them again!

Ken Ferris was awesome! He was extremely professional and got right to work. Best answer of the day . . . "whatever you need done" I bought the 2-hours for $98. Best $98 I could have spent. They do just about everything. I think what impressed me the most about Ken was his work ethic. I did not feel at all like any ask was too big or too small, for that matter.He ended up finishing the job I actually wanted done in about 90 minutes. Instead of drawing out the job or simply just packing up, he looked at his watch and said "you have about 1/2 left. What else can I do?" Awesome. He cleaned up after himself and gave me a few tips on caring for and adjusting my new set up. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I'm getting my list together now and will definitely be calling them again. This was my first experience using Angie's list and am so impressed. They were a great ambassador for the services available. Thanks!

I don't remember a lot of details, but it went well.

Bob showed up a little early, which was just fine. He looked at what needed to be done and left to get supplies. When he returned, he started working, and was very professional, experienced and knowledgeable. The job took almost 3 hours, which Matt approximated when I scheduled the work. I was very pleased and will definitely use Budget Right in the future.

Wanted to charge me a $25 trip charge without first even telling me where he was located. I bought a Big Deal for $98 handywork for 2 hours, which was seriously only a 5 minute job. All I needed was 2 towel rack put up and he was trying to tell me that it was a 4 hour job. I felt so disrespected.

Budget Right Handyman does not provide snow removal services and that date above is in regards to a phone call I made to them.

a little confusion with the paperwork but that was probably my fault because I didn't have a print out of my order I have forgotten the gentleman's name but he was very nice. When I explained what I wanted done he really listened and didn't just act like he knew better. As a result the work turned out exactly as I wanted.

Provider left after 2 hours and the sink was still leaking. He said that he would talk to his boss and someone would call us within the next hour regarding finishing the project. We never heard from anyone. This was our first experience with Angie's List and we hope it is not our last.

I bought the deal on a Monday, the job was completed early on Wednesday. He even replaced some burned out lightbulbs he noticed in my hallway that I've been meaning to take care of but I'm short so it's kind of an ordeal to get up there (it's at the stop of a staircase in a very narrow hallway), I so appreciated that he did that without me even asking. He left the work area spotless and took away the old fixture and all of the boxes, debris. I will definitely use again.

Bob was extremely prompt and professional and clearly knowledgeable, both about plumbing and handywork. He found a way to do the project in a simpler and much quicker way than we initially had speculated he would have to do it, which saved us about $100 of his time and gave me a lot of trust in his work ethic. He was required to bill in increments of a full hour, so before he left he did a few random odds and ends we had been putting off, even though we hadn't initially put them on his list, and it really helped us out. He was also really sweet about our cat being all over him while he was working. Matt was also extremely helpful and professional when we were setting up the appointment - he called me back promptly and listened to all my concerns. He scheduled one person to come out immediately, but when I expressed that I needed plumbing work and had had some bad plumbing experiences in the past and was concerned about leaks, he said if I could wait til Tuesday he could schedule his most experienced plumbing guy, and I was really grateful for that extra level of consideration.

Bob came over for a second project for us, as the water line on our fridge had developed a small crack and was dripping. Bob talked on the phone with me Friday and diagnosed the problem, and then Matt came over to look at it and confirmed, and emailed us a link to the exact model of hose to get from the box store, as a replacement and a slight upgrade (for under $20, it has a flood-control mechanism to help prevent future leaks, which is great). Bob installed that on Monday, and also installed our new flat screen TV wall mount, which we were too scared to do ourselves. He explained to us the bolts he was using and how much weight they could each hold, and why it would be more secure to install it that way than use the metal studs our building has. Finally, on his way out he noticed that our front door handle is installed the wrong way (which we've been meaning to get to), and he fixed it for us quickly just to be nice, even though he was past his time. Such a nice guy! We'll definitely have him back as we find more stuff for him to fix.

A plumber "fixed" a problem with my bathtub fixtures by punching a hole in the tiles, rather than create an access from behind. Having used Budget Right Handyman in the past, I called and Michell came out a couple of days later. Mitchell assessed the problem and we went to get supplies. Once we returned, he got to work cutting through the all behind fixtures. Soon he was attaching a board and re-tiling the opening, using the board as backing. The repair was done quickly and I'm pleased.
