Blankenship was AWESOME. Our team of 4 men were the hardest working people we have ever met. They were on time, worked hard, and were courteous and polite. Would definitely hire again.

Short version. It was a nightmare. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong... Long version... **Punctuality:** Was told movers would arrive at 8am sharp or a little earlier because we were moving into an elevator building and only had access until 5pm. At 8am we received a call that they would be 30 minutes late. At 9am they were still not onsite. The crew arrived at 9:20. One hour and 20 minutes late. Bad start. They did not finish until after 6pm which caused issues with elevator access. **Damage:** Old house: Wall damaged and no follow-up... New House: Our hardwood floor was damaged and was told by Sean Conneely (owner / manager?) they would fix... Never heard from Sean or anyone at Blankenship movers again..... See pictures.

They were far better and more helpful than I could have imagined. They helped me solve a number of moving day problems, including fitting my furniture into a small space.

Very professional, speedy, courteous and attentive to details. Arrived on time in torrential rain. They offer several special packages through Angie's List with a flat fee (3 men, 1 truck, 2 hours) and accomplished everything in that timeframe. Couldn't imagine a better experience.

This company was excellent - would strongly recommend! We didn't realize that the weekend we selected in May was one of the busiest of the year (first-time apartment dwellers!) so we had a really difficult time finding movers. Blankenship was one of the few to even respond. Turns out that when we got to our apartment, the back dock area was under construction (no, the apartment mgmt. team never shared that with us), so, they had to park near the street and then carry our belongings that extra distance. They were able to call another person to help so that they could accommodate the narrow window allowed for our complex elevator. Would definitely use them again (oh, and absolutely nothing was damaged in the move!)

These guys are true professionals that are on top of their game. I had a four man crew come in and they skillfully blitzed through the work. I am still in awe how hard these guys worked. They literally never stopped. Not only hard working but all four of them were way nicer and more polite than typical movers. Nothing asked of them was too big or too little for them. I would without a doubt use them again and I have already recommended them to two others. Do yourself a favor and use Blankenship when you are ready to move. By the way, make sure you have plenty of cash on hand to tip them. Trust me, you will want to tip them.

Fantastic! They came out the day before to do packing of smaller items and did a great job. The day of the move was awesome! They were on time, worked hard, wrapped things well, carried heavy stuff, managed the delicate items, moved very quickly, navigated my new small stairwell and setup the furniture. Really top notch work.

I received a very competitive quote from Blankenship for my move, which is why I choose them. I initially asked for them to email me the quote, but they never did. I booked anyway; but this should have been my first clue that this was not going to go well. The actual move went fine. They were careful with all of our stuff and work reasonably quickly getting stuff out of the old place. However, the initial quote vastly underestimated how long it would take them to move down three flights of stairs. At the new place, we only had the elevator reserved for a specific period of time, which I explained to Blankenship prior to the move. Because of the amount of time it took to move out, we were running late for our block of time to use the elevator. Once everything was in the truck, there was only about an hour left on our elevator time at the new place. Despite this, the movers went to a gas station and got drinks and candy between the two places. The new place was less than a mile away. It was frustrating when they did finally arrive because we now only had the elevator for less than 30 minutes. Fortunately, the management at the new place was understanding and didn't charge us for using the elevator past our indicated time. We could have been charged $75 per 15-minutes we were over. After everything was in the new place, I was asked to fill out a survey in front of the movers. This made me feel awkward and I wasn't as honest as I would have been if they had sent it to me after the fact. Also, the actual price of the move ended up being over $200 more than what I thought they quoted me, but I didn't have proof of this because they did not email me the quote.

It went smooth and efficient. They got there early. They were careful but quick. Made sure everything was were we wanted it when we got to the new place. I would certainly use them again.

i've never hired movers before, and was nervous to do so - but it went better than i ever expected! the owner, sean, returned my initial phone call, and was very detailed in his quote. i especially liked that the quoted cost included things like furniture pads and tape and other moving necessities, because every other place quoted those things as additional costs. he even gave me packing tips and tricks to make the move go more quickly and efficiently - which definitely benefits the customer, as we are charged by the hour. as promised, we received a call the day before the move to confirm. the morning of the move, the crew called 30 minutes before our scheduled time to say they were in the neighborhood in case we were ready to start early. we were, and appreciated their punctuality. the three man crew worked quickly, and after the first 15 minutes, one even asked me "are we moving quickly enough?" i was so surprised by this - and yes, their pace was actually faster than i expected! they asked us before taking certain personal items, like backpacks, to be sure we meant for them to be packed onto the truck. they pointed out pre-existing damage to some of our items. all in all, they were professional, cheerful and pleasant, and despite the fact that we lived on a 3 story walk-up, i never heard them utter a complaint about all the stairs. all of our belongings made it safely to our new home without issue. they actually made something i was dreading (moving, in general) a lot of fun - it felt more like moving with friends than with a company. oh, and the final cost came in lower than i expected, which was just the icing on the cake. i would recommend blankenship to anyone without hesitation! and if we ever move again, we'll definitely use them!

We have used Blankenship Movers multiple times in the past several years and have recommended them to several friends. They're always very professional, helpful, and friendly and despite how quickly they get you packed up and moved they take exceptional care of your property. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and have many times to friends.

The moving was done over 2 days. The first day consisted of moving certain items to a storage locker. And the second day consisted of moving the remaining materials to my new apartment. The 2 guys that came (Alfredo and Carlos) were tremendous. they did a great job moving my materials in an efficient and careful, yet brisk manner. Everything was wrapped well prior to the move to either location. Especially of note was how they moved my 55" LG OLED 4K TV. They didn't wrap it up in plastic wrapping. Instead they wrapped it up in blankets so as not to effect the screen in any way. Smart. And, it was done perfectly without incident. I would use Blankenship again in a heartbeat and I likely will.

We had an excellent experience with Blankenship movers. I communicated in advance multiple times with them and even changed logistics once. The entire time it was clear their focus was on me as a customer. On the day of our move from the city the suburbs the movers called ahead, showed up early, and worked very hard for many hours. They were also helping us pack and took the time to ask and double check what belonged in certain boxes. Bonus- they were very personable. We had the same experience when they moved our stuff in to the new house (after they held it overnight). Overall, it was high quality work and I strongly recommend them if you want to make your move less stressful!

The three person crew showed up 10 minutes early and they were ready to go. They were very courteous and worked very hard. My fiancee lived in a high rise, they knew the building and worked to load out her apartment with efficiency. Same for my 2nd story in a three flat. They wrapped items and shrunk wrapped the beds. They even disassembled my beloved bed frame. At the new place, they worked hard even in to the 8th hour. I would have been exhausted, they finished well and took great care of our belongings.

Move went well. Crew was courteous and understanding of our needs. Wrapped every piece of furniture in blankets and wrap. All furniture accounted for. Reassembled all furniture that was taken apart for moving. All these parts and any glass carefully wrapped. One of the best moves for a hired company. Management was very helpful to get the best price for the move. Very responsive to make sure all went well. I would highly recommend them.

Outstanding!!!! We met at my storage shed first,and actually the movers were there 15 minutes early. There were three men who each came out and introduced themselves to me. Brian, Alfredo and Alberto. My storage shed was packed the shed had been sitting for years with all my things from a previous house. you know so I am seeing things that I did not realize were in there. But the movers said no problem! And they did it all perfectly and asked questions as needed. Next we had to make a second stop to my current residence to move an entire bedroom and I also forgot to tell them about an elliptical machine in the basement and a very old tube T.V. (more sentimental than anything else) But again Brian said no problem!!! These three men are very strong, personable, trustworthy and hard workers! They were with me for almost 7 hours, I felt terrible taking up there whole day. I could not have done this move period without them. Thank You

The moving crew was very professional, prompt and efficient. They were helpful with any questions I had. They supplied the wardrobe boxes as part of the fee which was a great cost savings to me. I recommend this company if you have to move in the city of Chicago.

I️ had a few bedroom sets I️ needed to put in storage from a basement. Blankenship was the fastest and most reasonably priced out there. The guys were great and the job was done quickly and efficiently!! I️ would hire this company anytime I️ need anything moved.

Couldn’t ask for a better crew and experience. I️ was told from the beginning how things would go and if we experienced any issues along the way they would be rectified accordingly. The crew was awesome they treated my belongings as if they were they’re own. Dealing with Sean in the office was a pleasure. The crew went above and beyond expectations. I️ would definitely recommend Blankenship Movers to anyone looking for their next move.

The owner, Sean, worked with us throughout the process as our move dates kept changing. We definitely appreciated this. That said, the service provided on the day of the move left much to be desired. The movers were 1h 15min late in arriving, which meant they weren't done packing up before we had to leave for our closing. This was extremely stressful for us. We had to ask a neighbor to come be there while they finished. We also had to come back to the house to get items they didn't take, but should have. They damaged our old house: accidentally tearing down two of our house numbers when they snagged on one of their shirts. They marked up the walls in our brand new house. Several items were not wrapped like they should have been and sustained damage; there was no reason for that to happen. The head of the crew tried to fast talk his way out of everything, not taking much responsibility.

STOP LOOKING FOR ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY. THESE MOVERS ARE GREAT, FABULOUS AND AWESOME!!! The move was perfect in every aspect. Al, Brian, and Jose are true professionals from the beginning to the end. My husband and I would highly recommend them and use them again. They definitely went the extra mile. They worked nonstop and treated our furniture like it was their own. The company should be proud to have these 3 employees working for them. 😃😄👍

Blankenship Movers was fast, efficient, and affordable! They do not charge to wrap the furniture or for rolls of tape - that is included in the overall hourly rate. The 4 men working at my house (Fredo, Jason, Jose, & Lou) were polite, professional, honest, hard-working, and kind. Blankenship Movers provided wardrobe boxes for my hanging clothes, which made moving things from my closets so easy! The owner, Sean, was accommodating for my moving date which changed due to unforeseen circumstances, and he was very helpful and answered all of my questions when I spoke with him on the phone. I have used Blankenship Movers to move twice, and if I ever move again, I will be calling them! I highly recommend using Blankenship Movers!

Ever had a moving company make you cry? In a good way. I can’t express in words how professional, kind and caring the entire staff is. Sean - the owner was my initial contact and he was awesome from the start - I am disabled and not only were the movers (Phil and Rudy) concerned about my move but also about my well being as a person- they went wayyyyyyy above the call of duty to get the move done and it was genuine. I will ONLY recommend Blankenship movers to Family and friends and I will use them everytime I need the service. Did I mention how much cheaper they are then the other 6 company’s I called? One company wanted 833 dollars and the others wanted 500 Or better- Sean was able to blow their quotes out the water and that was important for someone like me on disability income. This really is a family oriented company and one of the few company’s left that still care about business relations and the customers they serve.
