They where on time. Very professional. Had to have chimney rebuilt. They did it in 2 days. A Friday and Saturday. They did not leave til the job was done at 8pm. A All around.

A1 did a great job and very professional. I just think they overcharged me for the job. I was told what would be done and quoted one price over the phone and for that same job, paid more then what was quoted. I understand that sometimes in jobs that there are unforeseen circumstances, but in this case, I was overcharged. Don't get me wrong, they did a great job, but was quoted 126.00 for dryer duct cleaning , then was told for level 2 cleaning, it would be 229.00, but the invoice came to 255.00. After checking the average price in my area, in hindsight, it averaged about 150.00. They also mentioned that since my ducts went thru the roof instead of on the side, it made it more difficult to reach inside, which it may have, but I was asked that when I filled the form out that the ducts were in the roof so they should have known that and quoted it in the price when they first called me. Otherwise, everything else was fine. Usually, I do my due diligence, but this time I slacked off, and this is the price you pay.

We had just bought our house and did not know what to expect about the condition of our chimney. Derrek took tons of pictures to show us the damage and better explain the steps necessary to fix any problems. He was thorough yet did not push any services. He was able to perform all the requested service that day. This was a refreshingly courteous and thorough service call. I felt more knowledgeable and safer after he left.

Arrived on time and inspected fireplace, gave me two options for the problem and were done with the job within an hour. Very professional!

First, it has taken almost 18 months to track down someone to tackle the project of making my fireplaces/chimneys safe and usable. I used friends, word of mouth and had many people look at it. Some were not qualified and some wanted estraordinary amounts of money (one at 20k) . It's amazing how people want to take advantage. As a last resort on a whim I went to Home Advisor and listed the project on line. I received a call from A-1 to inspect the fireplace, chimneys and surround. There was a charge for this which was 100% refundable if they were hired to handle the project. Fair enough. At the appointed time a smart van with the company name pulled into the drive-way. The young man who came in, Anthony, was extremely polite. He immediately presented his certifications and his company's certificate of insurance. He then got to work inspecting the attic, chimneys, fireplaces and chimney crown. We met in the kitchen and he did not look happy. He explained everything that was wrong and showed me the pictures that he had taken. He also explained, that one of the fireplaces was not a wood-burning fireplace, but had had an insert. While it could be converted it would be extremely expensive. As an alternative he suggested a 'fire island' and showed me some samples. Then he gave me the bad news. It was expensive, but on the other hand it was one of the lowest bids we had received, and he certainly sounded like an authority on the situation. In addition he said that the work could be done that day, and when we negotiated a lower price he agreed to it and showed me some samples for the fire island. I was amazed - many of the previous bidders had said that it would take days to repair and one had even said he would have to rebuild the entire chimney from the attic up, opening up my roof. I verified that I had heard Anthony correctly, and agreed to the work. Then, like a well-oiled machine, Anthony and his partner, Marcus, went to work. Quickly and efficiently they worked together and two an a half hours later they were done. They showed me the after pictures where they had repaired the chimney inside, it was cleaned and the crown was repaired and had new caps, but most beautiful of all was the new fire island - copper fireglass that refracts the light and sparkles when lit and almost looks like a work of art. Once they were finished and the bill settled, they quickly cleaned everything up and were gone. One note: they were unable to fix the gas pipe in the wood burning fireplace. When they tried to unscrew it the entire pipe rotated. Anthony let me know that I would need a plumber to do that if I wanted to use the gas starter for the wood-burning fireplace, as he was not a certified plumber. I highly recommend this company, and particularly Anthony and Marcus. They worked seamlessly as a team, were very professional and expedient. Anthony and John were both very friendly and courteous. They arrived well within the predicted window and let me know when they were on their way. They were very neat and made a great effort to keep my home clean while they worked. The work itself was efficient and well done. Anthony advised me well on what needed doing and how it should be done, explaining the need for any work and the consequences of leaving it undone as well as answering all my questions. I didn't feel pressured to do anything I felt was unnecessary and was provided with a lot of options. I now have a beautifully redone fireplace and can actually use it with no worries about damage to my home. Would definitely recommend A-1 to anyone!

Both technicians were courteous and friendly yet professional Anthony took the time to explain in detail what was required after the inspection to bring everything up to code. He explained this to me and he also explained it to my spouse who was at work his explanations were easily understood and the finished result was excellent. Great care was taken to keep my home clean. Since we are selling our home he did his best to keep our expenses to a minimum while still correcting the problem They were on time and they finished the work quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend A-1

Neat efficient courtoius

I had some concerns about the scope of work that was performed. They followed up, made an extra trip and made sure that I was happy with their work. I appreciated there follow-up and commitment to customer service.

The 2 gentlemen that came (Anthony and John) were great. I have never met 2 guys who were so excited about their work. They installed a new chimney cap and a fire glass insert to update the fireplace. Looks great. They were very kind gentlemen and I would hire them again in a minute.
