+ -1 moreNeedless to say, it works like a charm and is not noisy at all. I will say when I first went to his shop, I was doubtful that a replacement part would be available; was so happy with the new attachment and so are my rugs/carpeting. Will use him again if I need to in the future.
Description of Work: On my first visit, I brought in my 50 yr old carpet attachment: he provided me with a replacement part: Rug attachment for in-built vacuum. When I brought it home and used it, was not sure I had done the right thing 'cause it made such a screeching noise. Well, being not one to jump too fast to conclusions, decided after 2 1/2 months of listening to this horrible noise, that I better take it back and have him take a look. I dropped it off, it was ready the next day, but I didn't get back till 2 wks later. He showed me what the problem had been; one of the main rotating rods was not seated in what should have been a collar to hold it in place AND I saw him open the box from the factory when he sold it to me. He said he'd never seen something like that in all the years he'd been in the business.

The owner (Jim, as I recall) called me the next day to let me know which parts needed replacing and the total cost, which I approved. It was actually fixed by Friday; but I picked it up on Monday. I made sure to stop at the cash station on the way, since only cash or check are accepted.
Description of Work: I have a 10 year old Dyson DC07 that needed a few replacement parts - including a new filter and brush roller. It had also lost some suction over the years. After the parts were replaced and the cyclone unit was cleaned out, it's as good as new. I was very happy to find a great vacuum cleaner repair service; I knew my Dyson had some life left in it! And I thought that the price was very fair, too.

+ -1 moreAs I walked into the store dragging my broken vacuum, I knew I was in trouble. The proprietor met me at the door with a scowl on his face. He was angry and defensive during the whole five minutes I was in the store. Stay away if you like friendly service!
Description of Work: I brought in a vacuum that needed a new cord. I did not use this provider because of the personality of the proprietor.

+ -1 moreMy experience with a vacuum cleaner repair at Steve's Vacuums was excellent. Next time I need either a new vacuum or a repair, I plan to return to Steve's. I took in two vacuums--a Hoover cannister and a Hoover FloorMate--and Steve indicated to me right away which was worth repairing and which was not. He then repaired the broken plastic door to the vacuum bag area and thoroughly cleaned out the vacuum, including replacement of two clogged filters. When I picked it up, the vacuum cleaner looked like was brand new. I'm very satisfied. I've already recommended this place to friends and family

+ -1 moreI had a great experience. I opt'd to purchase one of the vacuum cleaner's that they carried that would do a better job as I have a lot of pet hair with 3 cats and 1 golden retriever. I was provided a credit for the vacuum that I brought in for cleaning. I LOVE the vacuum that I purchased. It is absolutely the best vacuum I have ever had and worth every cent.

+ -1 moreLooked on Angie's list for a local vacuum repair shop and found Steve's. Even though there weren't any recent reports (they dated back to 2005) I decided to give them a try. I was very pleased with the whole experience. Jim had the repaired vacuum cleaner ready for pick up the next day. For all the work that was involved, I feel that $76.00 was a very reasonable.
Description of Work: Hoover Windtunnel vacuum cleaner , which was purchased in 2002, was not working. Was advised by Jim O'Neill (the Vacuum Doctor) that it needed two new belts, free up the flapper door, replace filter dust cup lid and clean and lubricate roller bearings.

+ -1 moreTWICE I HAVE BROUGHT MY VACUUM HERE TO GET THE BELT REPLACED. THE GENTLEMAN IS ALWAYS VERY NICE and PROMPT, and EVEN BRINGS MY VACUUM TO MY CAR FOR ME. IF I HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH MY NEW VACUUM I WILL DEFINITELY BRING IT HERE FOR REPAIRS.

+ -1 moreI ACCIDENTALLY SUCKED UP A FOIL BALL/CAT TOY WITH THE VACUUM, AND COULD NOT GET IT OUT OF THE HOSE (IT WOULD NOT DETACH). IT RENDERED THE VACUUM CLEANER VIRTUALLY USELESS. I BROUGHT IT INTO STEVE'S AND THEY FIXED IT, AND ALSO GAVE MY VACUUM A TUNE UP, REPLACING ALL OF THE BELTS AND FILTERS. OVERALL IT WAS VERY SATISFACTORY, THOUGH I DID THINK IT WAS A BIT EXPENSIVE.
