+ -1 moreArt initially came out to look at job (at no cost) and told me it would take about an hour and a half, maybe two (he gets paid by the hour). Once I got the new solar lantern, Art returned on the agreed day and time to do the work. He ran into a couple of minor issues along the way (which were no surprise to either of us), and worked through them quickly and efficiently. He completed the entire job in about a hour, which is what he charged for. I will definitely use him again for any small jobs around the house. Highly recommended!
Description of Work: Remove gas light from pole; cap off gas line at pole and at gas meter; remove and cap off existing pipe from gas meter to ground; install solar light on to light pole.

He is very dedicated to help people and show exactly what is wrong does not give you a song and dance. Very honest and polite. He did not want to put a band aid he wanted to fix it. Now the door closes

The work for the doors involved a bit more time and energy than we initially anticipated, but Art took the time to explain the cause (due to foundation shifts) and solved the problems. He found we had another faulty light switch so he replaced the first one we were aware of, went to Home Depot to pick up another replacement light switch (did not charge for travel time), and then replaced the second light switch. He carefully fixed three doors for us too. Art did a terrific job. He is professional and courteous. We have hired Art before, and will do so again when the need arises.
Description of Work: Art replaced a few light switches that were faulty. He also fixed a few doors in the house that were not closing properly due to the foundation of the house shifting. He was very thorough and took the time to explain the causes of the problems with both the light switches and the doors before completing the work. He had to pick up a few parts from Home Depot and did not charge us for the travel time, which was appreciated.

+ 0 moreWe were very pleased. Art was very responsive to my initial call, and was accommodating when I needed to reschedule. The job was done in an hour, and that hour is all that was charged. Art is friendly and professional, and I trust him when he says that he knows what kind of electric work he can do, and what kind of work we'd have to call an actual certified electrician for. We will definitely call him again for other jobs around the house.
Description of Work: Art installed two lights in our bathroom: one above the toilet, and one above the sink/vanity. (The old light above the vanity had already been removed.)

+ -1 moreArt is fantastic. I had trouble finding a shower curtain rod that I liked. Art did some looking and called me with some choices. I decided on one of his recommendations. He is prompt and does a nice job. I have used his services before and I will call him again as needed.
Description of Work: Art installed a shower curtain rod, installed a new smoke detector, and removed a light bulb that was broken in the socket. He also looked at my whole house humidifier and helped me determine what kind of replacement pad to get.

+ 3 moreArt was great on arranging a time to do the work and showed up on time. While he was working, he explained to me what was wrong and how to fix the problem myself if it ever happened again. He was also honest about things he could not do, which I really appreciate. He was very nice, clean with his work and very professional!
Description of Work: Bathtub and 3 sinks were unclogged, 2 noisy bathroom fans were removed, cleaned and re-installed. A dining room light fixture that was broken was replaced. The balance of a lightbulb base that was stuck in the ceiling was removed. Lightbulbs were replaced.

Description of Work: Mr. Fix-It Guy came out and was very professional in how he handled this issue. He reviewed and explained what needed to be done. Due to the way the faucet was manufactured, it was not possible to stop the dripping - plus the faucet was so inexpensive, it is easier for the homeowner to replace - and he showed me where this faucet "tip" could not be removed. I appreciated that he did not try to rip me off by pretending to fix the faucet. I am going to buy a new faucet and I have advised Mr. Fix-It that I will contact him next week to install the new faucet. I appreciate when repairmen do not make an effort to "rip off" a customer and I will recommend Mr. Fix-It Guy if a friend needs a handyman. He left and did not charge me although he could have made a minimum charge just for his time and gas. He is a handyman who should be highly recommended. Thank you.

He knows what he is doing and if the job is big, he recommends you to someone else. When he is doing something, he takes his time doing it and does is correctly. He tells you what the problem is and explains things very well. I will continue to use him in future.

+ 0 moreThis guy gets top notch grades in everything. I can’t think of anything negative to say about him. He’s limited in what he can do. He’s a handyman and he just does little things. All these companies don’t want to do little jobs and that’s what he does. As a matter of fact he doesn’t want to do large projects like a new floor or something like that. He just does little things that most people don’t know how to do. He’s very reliable and he comes when he says he’s going to come. He’s just very good. He just does these small little things which my wife and I cannot do. He’s good in everything. I just can’t think of anything bad to say about him. If I could, I would but I just can’t. We will use his services again in the future.
Description of Work: We used Art the Fix-It Guy. We last used his services about a year ago. I think we had a wooden fence outside where some of the things were broken, and he fixed them all. He replaced some and the rest installed.

Description of Work: I contacted Art to adjust my mom's toilet seat that had become suddenly loose, as well as fix a couple other related items. Art responded quickly and fixed the problem. Art also graciously brought my mom's garbage to the curb during his visit. My mom and I greately appreciated this because it was extremely hot, 105-110 degrees, the day of his visit. Since my mom is a senior citizen it was too risky for her to exert herself during that type of weather. Art cares about his custombers and always goes above and beyond the call of duty. We have worked with Art many times before and look forward to working with him again in the future.
