Description of Work: Art is great! I had him out to fix a warped front door in my condo, adjust several bi-fold doors and fix a sink pop-up. Unfortunately, he couldn't fix the front door because of hinge and building settling issues but the rest of the repairs were done. As others have advised in their reviews, he takes the time to tell you what he's doing and shares tips and experiences.

Description of Work: I needed multiple repairs around the house. Art fixed the toliet from running, repaired the metal plate on a screen door and fixed the bracket that closes the door properly. He also repaired nail pops in the ceiling which required nails to be replace with screws so the pops will not come back. He also put up shelves in my laundry room. Art is very knowledgeable about home repairs, he looks at the job and then explains what he can do to correct the problem. Everything he does is up front with no hidden surprises. I would recommend Art to anyone needed home repairs.

Description of Work: On New Year's Day I learned my mother was the victim of criminal property damage. Extensive damage was done to windows and property in her basement. Significant basement flooding also occured. I called Art, on New Year's Day no less, to see if he could provide emergency services. Art came out immediately and removed damaged windows and debris, bailed out window wells, boarded up windows, recommended professional water damage and cleaning services, etc. During a second visit, Art installed new windows, caulked, painted and made the damaged areas look brand new. Art also secured window wells and did preventative outdoor faucet maintenance. Being a victim of crime made our family feel vulnerable. Art was very responsive, supportive and efficient during a very trying time. His work was excellent and he re-established a sense of security in the home. Art also purchased all needed supplies to complete the project. As always, Art did outstanding work!

Description of Work: Mainly repaired a ceiling exhaust fan that 3 other companies said had to be replaced. Also hung a chandelier, repaired a sticking door and various other annoyances. Did an outstanding job on all.

Description of Work: He is a handyman that has worked for us. He fixed a bathroom fixture.

Description of Work: Very professional and nice person. Seemed sincere and qualified. Did estimate for storm door replacement. Also did not want to estimate a plumbing job as he preferred not to do that type of project. We decided to postpone project for financial reasons.

Description of Work: Art came over and gave me an estimate for the items that needed to be fixed around the house. We agreed on the estimate, so he came back on another day to repair a gutter, put on a gutter end cap, do some caulking, and fasten a gutter to the brick. I asked him about repairing some rotting wood and he told me that he would not be comfortable doing that task. What I liked about Art was that he knew his limitations and communicated that to me.

Description of Work: He performed handyman services for me at my office. More specifically he replaced light fixtures.

Description of Work: I hired him to take out my old chandelier and hang a new one in a specific way I wanted to. He also fixed the toilet in the powder room. Overall he was OK though he works slowly and I paid $600 just for these two jobs, which seems kind of expensive to me. But I liked his professionalism and contacted him several times for further work in recent years. He never returns my call back even though he sent me a Christmas card two years back!

Description of Work: Art Mate installed a ceiling fan and light fixture in my kitchen. He also corrected the electrical wiring problems that I was having with my wall switches. Art's estimate of the total charges to do this work was very close to the actual final charge. I highly recommend his services.

Description of Work: I WAS IMPRESSED BY ART. HE RETURNED OUR CALL THE SAME DAY AND WHEN THE JOB TURNED OUT TO BE OUTSIDE HIS FIELD OF EXPERTISE, HE REFERRED ME TO HIS NEPHEW. I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN.

Description of Work: HE REMOVED SOME PANELING FROM MY HOUSE, LIGHT ELECTRICAL WORK, PUTTING IN NEW OUTLETS, AND INSTALLED A NEW DOOR BELL.
