Hi Mr. [Member Name Removed]. - First, we are sorry about the failure of your system. We do understand and empathize that there is never a good time for such an unexpected and costly breakdown to occur where an HVAC system is involved. Upon inspection by our technician, your 12-year-old unit showed evidence of deferred maintenance and we believe it was possibly heading towards failure. The technician discussed the situation and your options with you at this time. Our service order dated 6/19/18, which we keep on file and bears your signature, clearly states you did not follow our recommended repair protocol, but instead opted for a "temporary fix" of the unit. This temporary fix direction was given by you, and in consultation by a third-party unknown to us, that you were engaged with in a phone conversation at the time our technician was present at your residence. Our technician completed the work as instructed and made sure the unit was working before he left the residence. Again, the work order that was signed by you clearly shows you chose to disregard the technician's recommended repair protocol. As you are aware we have already refunded your $185 service charge as part of our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Again, we regret this unhappy circumstance, but we believe we advised you of the situation accurately and the best path forward, but you chose to take another route.
