he responded within minutes. very good pricing.the quality of his work was incredible. attention to detail was also incredible. i would recommend him to anyone. just can't say enough about him. we have more tile work ahead of us and John will definitely be the guy. best tile work i have ever seen.

Do not ever use Jon Larsen for tile work. His work will lower the value of your home. You will lose money hiring someone else to correct his work. His comeback is always that he has 16 years experience. Actually his business entity in Idaho is listed as dissolved in 2016. His skill level is not much better than a journeyman. He can only do simple back splash and floor tiling. Never use him for a bathroom tub or shower enclosure. For our job we told him that the replacement bathroom window in the shower was on order and we had concerns about the tile around the sill. We expressed our concerns abut waiting until after the new window was installed. His answer was I can wrap the water-proof membrane on the sill after the window is in. When I came home from work to take a look one day, Larsen had tiled up the vertical shower wall above the sill. The Schluter membrane system requires a 2 inch overlap to seal properly. We thought he was going to tile up the wall and stop at least 4 inches below the sill to have room for the over lap. Larsen told us that the sill does not get wet so no problem with water. Actually, the sill is about a foot away from the shower head and the sill gets soaked during a shower. He also installed tile on shower walls using mastic which is for dry areas only. The day the plumber we contracted for was to arrive, Larsen said the plumber was too busy. He said he would do the shower valve plumbing. We asked if he had a plumbing license and permit. He said his insurance covers his plumbing work. Of course, he botched the job and it has to be torn out and redone.We later found that it is Idaho State law that the work had to be performed by a licensed plumber with a permit. Larsen told us he has done this hundreds of times. We could go on and about the uneven tile work, wrong width Schluter sticks etc. The tile on the vanity back splash had four tiles fall off on their own two days after Larsen install. Larsen does not own a hole saw. His cuts look like a third-grader used a hammer and chisel. The results are an eyesore. We had four tile pros with top credentials, one with 30 years experience and all with more years of experience than Larsen come take a look and give us a bid to fix Larsen's shoddy work. All of them felt bad for us and there was frustration in their voices. One of the experts moved from California and told us that he was surprised that Idaho has no competency requirements for tile workers like California has. You pay $22.00 and you can call yourself a tile setter in Idaho. The experts said the window should have been installed before the tile work and using mastic in a wet area is forbidden. All of them stated that all of Larsen work did not meet code, was very unprofessional and the plumbing work was substandard and illegal. When we asked Larsen to fix his mistakes and get a plumber, he grabbed his head and said the F-word. He refused to tear out and re-install the tile correctly and would not admit that he performed illegal plumbing work. We are going to sue him to recover our money as the cost of the destroyed tile, other supplies, demolition and re-tiling leaves us no choice. We are making a complaint with the Idaho Department of Building Safety regarding unlicensed plumbing work. Contact references and look at the actual work. That is the only way to verify the quality of work. Don't pay any attention to HomeAdvisor reviews as they can be faked. We tested HomeAdvisor's review process and found it is easy to set up fake reviews. Also, we had a brand new quartz vanity which we covered up with two layers of drop cloth. We caught him standing on the bare quartz with his dirty work boots. Now we have a gouge in the quartz. Larsen will not respect you or your home and lacks integrity. I would post photos but HomeAdvisor doesn't have that option.

If you need someone to lay your tile do not hesitate to hire this man . he is very particular and makes sure it is done right If I could give him more stars than 5 I certainly would this project was an outdoor uncovered balcony he made sure the tiles were nice and level with the proper slope for drainage I have to say his knowledge of the proper way to to complete this project far surpassed any of the other contractors that also gave us a bid I highly recommend Jon Larsen tile and stone for any of your tile work Thanks Jon Mark

John did a phenomenal job laying tile floor in our kitchen and dining room. The installers who put in our custom cabinets had mentioned that laying flooring in our kitchen would be a nightmare because the floors were all uneven and nothing was square. John never once complained or even seemed phased by any issue. Our floors look outstanding! Better than we could have even imagined. We are now waiting for our counter tops to be installed so we can hire John again for our back splash. I will make sure to recommend Larsen Tile to anyone in the future I know who is in need of Tile work.

Jon did an amazing install on my backsplash for my kitchen and was great to work with and very helpful. When he came to my house to give us a bid, he knew exactly what had to be done and quickly bid the job. He was on time and always let me know that he was on his way, When he came to my house to install my backsplash, he did not waste any time to get started and steadily worked his way through the project without any BS and really focused on the job at hand. He is honest, neat, cleans up when he is done for the day. He is very professional. He does great work and is the go to guy for tile installation - Highly recommend him.

John was incredible to work with! We hired him two years ago to do a bathroom renovation and he exceeded our exceptions. So, we hired him again to remodel three bathrooms and a laundry room in our new home. Once again he did a stellar job. As an interior designer I had different design ideas and changed my mind a couple times, John was patient and even excited to try the designs. The grout did not cured to over watering, sanded grout was used on marble and he has been non-responsive to get the work corrected.

Jon demoed and retiled one bath and one large shower. He did an outstanding job on both projects. The great thing about working with Jon is he that he works with only client at a time so he was here every day until both projects were complete. We hired Jon to replace our bath/shower with a full sized shower. He did both the tear out and install. He did have a plumber come in to do the piping and drain changes. Jon was on time, treated our house with respect, laying down tarps and covers where he worked or traveled. Every night he cleaned up the work site so that we could use the remaining parts of our master bath in the evenings. He kept us informed of any unforeseen issues (only a few). And best of all, Jon's estimate and final cost was about $3,000 LESS than the Lowes estimate for the job. Hire this contractor for your tile work. You won't be disappointed. He came to us based on a friend's reference. We'd pass on that recommendation to you.

Toward the end of a frustrating main-level remodel riddled with many complications and other difficult contractors John was a breath of fresh air to work with! He has a great skill set and matching personality. He is easy to get along with, flexible when needs be, communicated openly and honestly and is very experienced in his craft. John quoted us a very reasonable cost for his service and he was spot on with his timeframe. We can’t say enough great things about Larsen tile! Thank you John!

Jon did a good job installing tile for our kitchen backsplash. We had a remodeling project for our kitchen. We removed the existing backsplash and Jon came in and finished it off. We are very pleased with his work. Looks great! And his prices were very reasonable! We would recommend Larsen Tile and Stone to others!

Jon did an exceptional job on our very large walk in shower. He was excited to do this project and was so helpful in troubleshooting areas that needed specific attention. We had areas where water was pooling and had developed mold underneath the old tile. Jon fixed the troubled areas and exceeded my expectations with his tile work. He informed us where we could save money and stay within a reasonable budget. Jon is meticulous with his craft and I will hire him for future projects.
