The finished products are beautiful! They completed the jobs by the estimated time. The price was well worth the work performed. I would not hesitate to recommend them to do work for others.
Description of Work: They finshed a project I had started (stripping many layers of paint from an antique dry sink). It was fabulous - they had us bring in a drawer from a matching piece to match the stain - and made some helpful suggestions regarding replacing the drawer pulls, etc. I also took in an old dresser (also with multiple layers of paint) - they repaired a broken drawer bottom - and showed us why they didn't stain it - to demonstrate that the rest of the peice was authentic.

My husband handled taking it. He was told it would probably take a month. (It was around Christmas time when we bought it). Once the wood was stripped and ready for the stain and finish, they recommended to come to the business and look at the furniture so they could show us different stains, how they would look on our furniture, and to help advise us on the best stain color. They also gave us a detailed description of what they repaired and a little history on our piece of furniture. They were very accomodating and friendly. For extra, they delivered and set it up in our home and then gave us care instructionsfor it. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing furniture repair or restoration.
Description of Work: My husband and I bought an antique single china cabinet to use as a curio cabinet. It wasn't in the greatest condition and needed to be restored. Williams Furniture Repair completely restored it. It's beautiful!

The work is exceptional and worth the wait. True craftsmanship and artisanship. I am currently looking for more items in my home to send! The finish work on my armoire and bed is incredible. As close to what they perhaps looked years and years ago. As with the dis-assembly of the armoire, the re-assembly of the armoire was done with the greatest of care. Great work! Well worth the money spent! I have furniture that will last for more years to come!
Description of Work: Repaired and refinished an antique armoire, headboard and footboard of bed. Also repaired the damaged leg of one of my chairs. The oversized armoire was taken apart with great care and precision in order to remove it from my home for repair. Among the things done on the armoire and bed: shave down one of the doors of the armoire in order that the door would close (first time ever!), refinish and repair places that had damage, refinish and repair damage on head and foot boards, and add edge on bed in order to lay more slats on railing for mattress.

Comments: Dining table ($1,000) was first project. Nathan picked BR pieces up when he picked up that table, which I needed refinished for lending to my mother-in-law. Her piece had a deadline, which he met, but these took a backseat because I was not in a hurry and they were swamped leading up to Christmas. Nevertheless, I got them back two weeks before Christmas and they are just stunning! My relative is delighted with the table and amazed that the repair is not even visible. Everything these people do is done with such pride and workmanship! They are a pleasure to work with
Description of Work: Description: 1) Repaired board split from warp due to age in antique cherry dining table and then refinished entire table (dropleaf); 2) Refinished an antique cherry "work table" (tall night stand), 3) repaired a broken post on its matching bed, as well as totally replacing with a well-matched cherry side-board (the old one and finally cracked through completely and could no longer be just patched up), then just cleaning up the bed.

Nathan Williams is probably the nicest person with whom we have ever dealt in terms of people providing service in our home. He is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the value of the furniture he is presented with, and so is able to talk about what is and is not worth doing. This was the most expensive piece of work he did for us, because of the delicate nature of the repair, as well as the need to refinish an entire table. This company is definitely a keeper!
Description of Work: Repaired separation in boards on center (top) of antique, solid cherry drop leaf table. Then, they refinished the whole table to a beautiful satin finish. It is now impossible to see where the boards had split, and the table it gorgeous!

This company is comprised of a brother and a sister. It is family owned and highly rated on AL. They are one of the few companies in Atlanta that even does this kind of work. We liked them a lot and would use them all over again. They were even done early and that was very impressive as far as we were concerned. They really do aim to please and are very courteous and responsible.
Description of Work: This company is one we found on AL and hired to repaint a set of four dining room antique chairs we had. My dog had basically chewed them. For $85 a chair, this company completely repainted all of them for me.

Valerie and Nathan Williams of Williams Furniture Repair were enormously responsive and courteous. Nathan came out to the house, was extremely personable and respectful and gave me a quote on the furniture. Based on other reviews from Angie's List, I was comfortable with accepting his quotation and hired Williams to do the job. He cautioned me that it would be 6-8 weeks due to workload. I received the dresser today, in just 5 weeks in absolutely gorgeous condition. The dresser and mirror look brand new. Paired with the sentimental value this set holds, the end results are priceless. I highly recommend this family owned and operated business for any furniture refinishing or repair project. Nathan went the extra mile by installing the hardware I had purchased and presented me with tips on keeping the furniture in excellent condition. Thank you very much!!!

Superb! I dealt with Niles and he he was outstanding! He was professional and explained everything, quite well. I can't say enough good things about these folks. Williams furniture is the true epitome of small family business. If you need furniture repaired and you live in NW Georgia, it's worth the time and effort to have these folks repair it! Especially if it is an antique! Well done!
Description of Work: We had an antique dining room chair damaged by the movers, during a recent move. They repaired two chair supports, actually they made new ones to match the rest of the chair. You cannot even tell that the chair was ever damaged. What an amazing job!

The company was nice enough to let me email them a picture of the damage and they called me back promptly with and estimate. They made a Saturday appointment for me and came when scheduled, picked up the chairs and had them ready long before promised! The work is outstanding-highly recommended. Very professional and nice. Was given a window for pick up and delivery and they were right on time.
Description of Work: My small brown dog had completely ruined my antique chair legs and Williams repaired them to "like new" condition! I was originally told it would take 4-5 weeks but it only took 2 weeks! And I had a dining table and 2 pembroke tables buffed out when the chairs were delivered. I was very impressed! I highly recommend this company (and I am a perfectionist) and I will definitely use them again!

We were so pleased with the job they did on our cabinet that we took another piece of damaged furniture to them. Again, we were totally pleased with the excellent work they did!
Description of Work: I had a 150 year old antique cabinet with a buckled top from water damage. Nathan Williams did a beautiful job of renovating the top to like-new condition. He also did touch-up and other minor repairs to the piece. We were totally impressed with the quality of the work and the friendliness and professionalism of Mr. Williams.

I telephoned Nathan Williams about refinishing the four pieces of furniture and he agreed to come to my house to look at them and give me an estimate. All of the furniture was badly scratched. Nathan told me that he could refinish the two rose back chairs to blend with the armchair. Provided an estimate and indicated that the work would take six to eight weeks to complete. However, he returned the furniture after only four weeks. Nathan was absolutely right, the stains on the rose back chairs and armchair blend perfectly. All of the pieces look brand new. I used to refinish furniture as a hobby and consider myself to be a perfectionist, but I could never have done such a superior job. Nathan even stained the bottom of the chairs. For no charge, he buffed the top of an antique dining table that I recently bought, provided me with instructions for its care, and adjusted the base on a marble top table which I inherited from my grandmother.

I am so pleased with all the furniture Nathan and his crew have restored for me in the dining room. They took such good care of all the pieces, I think they look better than they did originally! The table and corner cabinet in the breakfast room are amazing, the black finish is rubbed through very lightly here and there, just enough to make it look like a valuable antique! All the work they did for me was excellent.
Description of Work: Nathan Williams refinished a mahogany dining table that has been in my family for 55 years. He restored it to its original beauty and matched it perfectly to a buffet that needed very little work. He also refinished 6 chairs and replaced the seats with needlepoint covers that my Grandmother made. He painted another table and matching corner cabinet black with a light rub-through that I had in the breakfast room.

Nathan of Williams Furniture came to look at the table and described what he could do. We weren't quite sure which finish we wanted so he invited us to look at the shop and see examples of various finishes. We went to the shop and decided on a finish. The workshop was very interesting to see. Our table was done in the time period promised (they happened to be very busy at the time, so our table took 8 weeks but we were told this before it was taken in. The workmanship is wonderful and we are very pleased with the result. The table looks beautiful!
