At 9pm we noticed our ancient hot water heater had finally died and flooded the basement. Got the heater gas and water feeds turned off. First call to Allgood at 8am, scheduled same morning visit on the spot. Plumber Scott arrived on time, was courteous and got to work right away. Replaced hot water heater and removed the old one. All finished in about 2hrs. Not cheap but gotta give credit where its due - easily scheduled, punctual, professional service at short notice and on the day before a major holiday. Thanks Scott and Allgood.
Description of Work: Inspect and replace old hot water heater. Add thermal expansion tank to meet code requirement. Clean up wet basement area. Visual inspection other main plumbing lines in basement.

We had previously had it quoted from another provider to replace the line for $1000 more than AllGood quoted us. James would have been willing to start the work that day but the dig crew were not available until the next day. It wasn't an emergency, so it was no rush, and it was great that they were able to start so quickly. They came out and got the job done in just a few hours. The area where they had to dig the line is minimal and they cleaned everything up very well. Hopefully we won't have any more major issues, but I will definitely call AllGood again if we are ever in need.

. MY water heater was not functioning on Sunday. I called first thing Monday morning and they gave me a 10-2 appt. and advised they would call before they came. They called shortly after and were there by 9am and gave me estimated to replace the elements or to replace the water heater entirely. I asked what he would do if it were his mothers water heater and he said he would replace the elements. I inquired about the warranty and he advised it was 6 mos. So that is what I did. He applied the $50 Angies list coupon I had to his $456. estimate thereby making it $406. He was very professional and so far so good. I have hot water! Yea! Thank you Allgood Plumbing.

I had a wall of outlets that had completely stopped working. The dispatcher called me very promptly in the morning, and even sent me an attached email of the technician that was arriving. (What a great tool) The technician they sent arrived at my home in the time they promised, and put shoe covers on before coming in! He was EXTREMELY polite and courteous. Went over all of my options and did not seem pushy at all! This was done in two hours and also included adding a surge protector to the main breaker panel. Great service and a very fast fix to a lingering problem we are glad to have behind us. The next morning, the customer service rep called to make sure I was happy with our service and the technician. This company values their customers, and we will definitely be using them again!

The provider came out and put on the pressure gauge. He left and the pressure was not holding. The manager pulled a permit with the city, which we would later find out was the wrong permit (you need a mechanical permit for a pressure test, not a plumbing permit) which seriously affected us when the city inspector came out and yelled at us for having the wrong permit. They never came back to pick up their gauge. Also, they have a policy that you pay $39 for the initial visit and that $39 is returned to you if you work with them. Not only did they not automatically credit me $39 when we worked with them, but I had to call them three times to get it returned. Not my job to be making those calls - it's their policy. Overall, we're very disappointed.

We are sorry this customer is unhappy. We placed a gas line under test pressure to determine that there were leaks on her line. We contacted the city of Atlanta and they determined what type pf permit we needed based on the work we perform, NOT us. When her line did not maintain pressure and we quoted her to make the needed repairs and she opted to have someone else fix her leaks. The permit cost alone were $175 and I would gladly send it to any interested party for verification that we did what we were required to do by State code. I understand her frustrations at the unwanted gas leaks. We also refunded her $39 and she did contact our office twice before that was refunded. It may not have been processed as quickly as she would have liked but was done within 3 business days. We often have to communicate results and findings that are not well recieved and I realize that no one wants to have plumbing problems. Sorry we could not resolve the issue to her satisfaction.

The office called a hour before to confirm his appointment that day. John, our plumber, arrived on time. He reviewed the job (s) and then developed an estimate onsite using his tablet. We agreed he could perform the work, and he left for a short period to procure parts and supplies. He shutoff the main water supply and drained down the lines. He replaced the shutoff values and supply lines on the 4 toilets and even installed a toilet bowl float and supply valve using one that I'd purchased the week before. The dishwater supply line that he obtained was too short and to help him, I went out to Lowe's and got an 8 foot to save time. We both had to work to remove the dishwasher and he had to drill holes below the cabinets to facilitate routing the line to the new shutoff valve. He replaced the builder-grade toilet with an extended height Kohler toilet. We've had several water heater failures in our neighborhood causing significant damage due to age and extremely high water pressure. John also checked our water pressure and informed us that it was OK at 60 psi. The kitchen sink sprayer required him to completely remove the faucet and replace the fitting underneath, which was slightly more work than changing a the hose and sprayer. It works better than new. All of this work took 5 hours to complete. John was pleasant and extremely professional, putting up with our dog who barked and growled incessantly every time he saw him. Every time he came into our home he placed booty's over his shoes to prevent tracking in dirt. Just to confirm Angie's information, I did verify that John was a licensed plumber. Though I am an engineer and do some of my own home repair, this work was important to mitigate the risk of a plastic supply line failure and replace aging shut-off valves that were starting to leak and becoming difficult to turn off. Secondly, as I've gotten older, crawling around on my knees is painful and I don't have the confidence in myself for these types of repairs. When we travel I typically shutoff water to the toilets, washer, etc., to prevent this type of event. I am not a plumber and want this work done properly. In all the job was completed extremely well and we're very happy with the results.
Description of Work: The provider changed 5 shutoff values (4 toilets and 1 dishwasher) and replaced the plastic supply lines with stainless braided ones. He also replaced a toilet and the sprayer and supply line on our sink which was not working.

I called Allgood on Friday, mid-morning, to find out what they would charge to install my new dishwasher. I explained that we had all the parts and that the old one had even been removed, however the woman who answered refused to give me a quote or even an estimate "without the technician looking at it first". I thought that was ridiculous but agreed to have someone come out to take a look and give me a quote. Just for reference, Lowe's (who sold me the dishwasher) would've delivered and installed for $125 so I DID have some frame of reference as to what the service should cost. I was told that someone would be available around 1 and would call me when he was on his way. At around 12:30, I got a call saying that the tech was close by (about 10 miles away) and would be there shortly, however, they didn't actually arrive until an hour later. Jared was very pleasant and professional. I showed him the dishwasher (still in the box) and asked him what it would cost to install it. He then told me that he'd have to refer to his "standard price list" in his car in order to give me the cost on what they charge for dishwasher installation. I immediately asked him why, if they have a "standard price list", would his office assistant refuse to give me a quote over the phone. It was a rhetorical question, obviously, as I know that they just want to come out in the hopes that you'll hire them just because they're "already there". He seemed a little sheepish and said that it's company policy to have a tech look first before offering a quote in case the work involves something "above and beyond" a standard installation--but here's the thing: he didn't even LOOK at plumbing lines, the dishwasher or any of the equipment before giving me the price from "the list" so I know that's just not true. It didn't matter because they price he gave me (around $315) was SO above and beyond other quotes that there was no point in even talking about it further. When I pointed out that Lowe's was going to deliver AND install for $125, he gave me the "....Lowe's sub-contracts its jobs out..." blah-blah-blah conversation, but it doesn't matter. I wasn't having my kitchen remodeled, I just wanted a dishwasher hooked up! Since he was there, I also asked him about what it would cost to pull a toilet and remove an obstruction. He again referred to his standard price list, and said that it was over $130 just to "auger it" (which I had already done). I told Jared that I'd already tried that AND another plumber had already ran an auger down it, with no success. I again asked what would it cost to REMOVE the toilet and remove the blockage. Again, the price was completely unreasonable...around $450. Since he was already there, I told him that if he could match Lowe's $125 price for installing the dishwasher (even though he didn't deliver the appliance) I would hire him to do the work. He said he couldn't for that price. To give him credit, he was really nice about it all. I told him I was sorry to waste his time, but there was no way I was going to pay over $300 for this job. Actually, he wasted MY time by not just giving me the "standard price" over the phone. After he left, I had to go BACK onto Angie's list and call three more people (and at this point, it was the middle of the afternoon on a Friday). I ended up finding two handyman, both with A-ratings on Angie's List, to do the job the same day...for $75 and $125 (both quotes were given to me over the phone, BTW). Quite a difference from $315. Jared was really nice and I would've been happy to use him if his prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, they're not reasonable and neither is his "no phone quote" policy for standard jobs.

Thanks for the feedback. Not everyone agrees with our policies and that is fine. Rarely are two jobs identical for various reasons. The ladies who work in our offices taking inbound customer calls are not plumbers. We feel that the best way to accurately price a job is to see it first. Plumbers have a notoriously bad reputation of quoting a price over the phone and then having to change it once they actually see what is involved. We try never to price a job over the phone because we don't want to change the price once we have given it. I hope the handymen you called have the proper insurance that covers plumbing repairs because if that water line they connected burst or leaks their insurance will not cover it. Also, most handymen are not licensed to do plumbing and therefore the repairs that were made were technically not sanctioned by the state. Since price seemed to be your single biggest factor in this investment in your home I am glad you feel you received a bargain. I don't quite understand why you would give our company a D simply because you did not like the free estimate we provided. We have 22 employees who depend on us for their livelihood and your review affects more than just the company owner. We are thankful to have served literally more than 25,000 satisfied customers who have a genuine interest in quality, warranty, and appreciate an honest company. Good luck with your "cheap" repairs.

My experience with Allgood Plumbing was really wonderful! I called to get a second estimate on our large project on Monday, September 16. After briefly explaining to one of the office staff what I needed, she very quickly scheduled a technician to come out to my house later that day. (And it was not even an emergency!) Our technician, Ken, was here on time and very patient with me as I was teaching my dog how she should meet people at the door. After filling in Ken on our problem, he was very confident that Allgood could quickly fix our problem. I left him to make some measurements and put together our quote. Within 10 minutes, he had our quote ready and it was significantly lower than our first quote. After speaking with Ken for less than a half hour, I was put at ease by his obvious experience and the confidence he has in Allgood. I called the office shortly after Ken left my home and scheduled the job for today (Wednesday). I was surprised when I was told this job could be done completely in only one day! Ken arrived with his team, the tractor and utility guys to locate the underground gas line, etc. The team that Ken had with him today worked like a well oiled machine. Before I knew it, the tractor was digging outside of the garage, two men were cutting the concrete inside the garage and all of our stuff that was in the garage was moved to keep it from getting dirty. All of the men worked from 9 AM - 4 PM without stopping. Once they were finished with the plumbing, they poured new concrete for the garage floor. The operator of the tractor made filling in the hole outside look easy. He finished quickly and drove the tractor down to our driveway. As soon as the tractor was moved, they laid down straw and evened out the yard where it had been. Everyone worked to get our belongings moved back inside the garage and then they were done. It is remarkable what they accomplished in one day! I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone with plumbing issues.
Description of Work: Part of the main pipes leading from our house to the sewer line at the street was found to be cast iron (original to the house). The cast iron pipes were corroded on the bottom causing blockages. Allgood Plumbing had to cut out a 30 foot section in the concrete in the garage from our laundry area to 5 feet past the garage's exterior wall. The area outside was extremely hard to get to due to the retaining wall on one side and our stone porch on the other. They were able to get a tractor to dig the 7 feet down to reach the pipe. Despite the precarious location, the tractor, the operator, the retaining wall and the porch were not harmed.

The work performed by Allgood was shoddy and un-needed. They have been to my rental property several times to investigate an outside leak issue. They have billed me for various different items that "would help" with the leak detection. Today, I am told that Allgood doesn't do leak detection and was referred to Atlanta Leak. Really!!! I am out $500+ dollars for leak detection that has not happened and I clearly stated that leak detection is what was needed!!! I wouldn't recommend this company to my enemy. UPDATE: On 9/4, I hired The Leak Doctor to go to the rental property to locate the leak. The company was professional and straight to the point. The technician showed me the water meter that had no flunctuations and explained what it meant, a definition completely opposite of what was given by the Allgood technician. The Leak Doctor procedded to bring in equipment and checked evey connection in the property, internal and external. No leak was found. The renter forwarded the summary to Dekalb County who in turn reduced the water bill to the appropriate amount. I contacted Allgood to locate a leak, the same information given to The Leak Doctor was given to Allgood. In return, Allgood repaired a toilet that had no issue, cut large holes in the walls of the rental property, installed valves and caused the release of water in the upstairs bathroom which has lead to brownstains on the ceiling. All of the work performed was not needed. As a result, ,I am out of ~$500 to Allgood and ~$400 in sheetrock repair. I advise anyone considering this company to be extremely cautious and to get 2nd and 3rd opinions before allowing them to perform any work for you.

We are sorry (removed member name) has chosen to DISTORT the facts. We arrrived at the property with an initial call for a unknown leak. The water meter was spinning indicating a leak indeed. There was no shut off valve to the property. Our technician clearly explained that a shutoff valve was needed to determine, by isolation, whether the leak was in between the house and meter or inside the house. We installed a ball valve shutoff to provide a NEEDED positive shutoff to the home. We were able to determine that the leak was in the yard between the meter and the home. Because the leak was underground with no visible signs we recommended a leak detection company to pinpoint the leak. This actually saved (removed member name) money because it prevented her from paying a plumber to dig, possibly for several hours, to try and locate the leak. We understand her frustration due to the leak and the cost. We are quick to accept responsibility when we make mistakes. We explained in detail exactly what we recommended and why. There is no better approach to solving this type of problem and we absolutely did the right thing. We always go above and beyond for our customers but there are times when people are irrational and simply wrong. Unfortunate that she has made the choice to try and damage a company that tryed to help her.

We had just moved into the house the week before and had a MAJOR backup with flooding in our downstairs bathroom, laundry room and garage - on a SUNDAY. My elderly mother and my adult son with Down Syndrome live with us and the thought of not being able to use the restroom, shower, etc.. and/or having to pack everybody up and go to a hotel - even just overnight, was stressing me out to the max - we hadn't even unpacked from the move yet. Allgood came to the rescue, arrived within about an hour of my initial call, stayed as long as it took to get us up and running again (which was about six hours!) and did it all at a reasonable price and with true professionalism. We were told in no uncertain terms that he would stay until the issue was resolved and that was exactly what he did! I told a friend about our experience and she wound up contacting them in an emergency situation recently and had the same great experience. I will be using them again. I can't imagine calling anybody else.

Called Allgood Plumbing on Friday morning after finding a large wet patch on the carpet in our bedroom. Within an hour they sent us an e-mail with a picture of the technician that would be coming to our home. The technician was John H. He was very neatly dressed with his ID visible. He was very polite and very professional. Because our house is built on a slab he advised us that we would need the services of a leak detection company. He contacted a company for us and they came out that afternoon. They located the problem, called John H and advised him where the leak was coming from. John came back on Saturday morning, which was actually his day off, and jackhammered the slab, located the pipe, replaced it and cemented back the hole in the floor. I asked him to check the pressure reducing valve from the outside feed which he did. He found it to be defective and replaced it at my request. I am very pleased with the way this entire problem was handled for us. I will definitely recommend anyone needing the services of a plumber, to contact Allgood Plumbing first. They have handled our very stressful condition promptly and with courtesy and professionalism. Great company to deal with.
