Allgood Plumbing Electric Heating & Cooling

Needed a new dishwasher installed. After a terrible experience with HomeDepot installation services, I reached out to Allgood because of their high reviews on Angie's. They charged a $38 service fee just to have the plumber come onsite and give a quote for the work - which makes sense in most plumbing-issue scenarios but thought it was a little odd for something as straightforward as installing a dishwasher. However, I was told the $38 fee would be credited toward the final bill if I decided to have the plumber perform the work while onsite - so I figured no harm. Unfortunately, the quote to install the dishwasher was a little over $200 which is absurd for a 30 minute job. So I thanked the plumber for combing out, ate the $38 fee and installed the new dishwasher myself.

On 10/16/14, I called Allgood Plumbing for 3 reasons: Spike in water bill, water stains indicating shower was leaking and our toilets would not stop running. On 10/17/14, Gareth came by to check things out and let us know what was going wrong with our plumbing. There were several problems and he took time to address each one. The toilets were easy since two were very old and needed extensive repair or replaced. Gareth wrote a quote for both options letting us decide which one was best for us. The water heater was well past it's prime being 12 years old and the copper pipe leading to it was weeping. The house pressure regulator was originally installed upside down and was nearly unusable. Lastly, Gareth cut a hole into the ceiling of our garage to discover what was causing the water stains... Unfortunately, the shower above was leaking heavily. (We have to hire a remodel company to fix that problem.) Gareth took the time to explain what could be causing it even though he would not be able to the work in the shower. Once he'd seen everything he wrote us a quote for the things he could fix and let me know when he would be able to do work. (We have a large dog that growls at every new person that comes in our house. I explained how to handle her because she just gets nervous with new people. He did everything I asked and had her licking his hand before he left. That was great customer service in my book.) I contacted Gareth on 10/20/14 and told him we'd like for him to do everything. He came on 10/23/14 and completed everything by himself. We have two sets of stairs he had to carry toilets up and down too. He was very professional, cleaned any mess he made and showed me all his work and explained anything I had questions about. I would highly recommend Allgood and Gareth to do any plumbing work you may have!!

Sabrina & James were lifesavers when I called to have a broken - leaking hot water heater replaced in my house. I was away in business and my house sitter called to tell me that I had a leak. It was the weekend and I went to Angie's List to find a plumber that would come out on the weekend....ALLGOOD was 100% on top of things and came right out and within a few hours had my new hot water tank installed and did not charge me anymore than a regular weekly charge. In this day and age of people just trying to barely do their jobs and rip you off...ALLGOOD is a shining light to counter act those bad companies! I would recommend them to all!

When I called they decided that an electrician needed to come because I told them I wanted them to check the heating element since the old water heater was only 4 years old and had gone out potentially at the same time as 2 TVs that belonged to the tenant (this is a rental house and the tenant was not really sure about timing as he was in the hospital). When the plumber called he said the water heater was leaking, so no need for electrician I thought. But then the electrician called and seemed to be wanting to put a whole house surge protector in to which I said no I was not interested (this house has not had a history of surge problems in 10 years). The hot water heater they said they were going to put in was a Rheem 47 gallon (retail cost at Home Depot $397.00) and an expansion tank (about $40-$50) and I would assume some additional supply lines, adapters and supplies ($25-$30). The total bill was $1,334.75 (after senior discount) which means the labor was about $860 labor for less then 4 hours work which included going to get the hot water heater. That's like $250 per hour!!!!! I tried to get some form of estimate up front, but couldn't even though I knew what I needed/could potentially need. By the time they were at the house I felt stuck because I didn't want to leave the tenant without hot water any longer. I have not yet inspected the work or the hot water heater so I could not judge, at this time, the quality. I hope they left the manual/warranty information for the hot water heater.

My sink was leaking and my garbage disposal was also leaking. The original plumbing was not done correctly so it was prone to clogs and problems. James N. did a great job replacing the garbage disposal and redoing the plumbing so that it was more efficient. I even have a little more space under my sink now. This is the 2nd time James has done work in my house and I am very pleased with his work. I would have him come back to do more work if needed.

Darren was absolutely wonderful!! He was polite and very professional. He and his helper wore "booties". They vacuumed out the water in the toilet before removing it. The cleaned up after themselves and asked if we had any questions.

The technician called me an hour prior to arriving and even put up with our dogs greeting him at the door. He diagnosed the problem quickly and gave me a quote and agreed to let me use my Angie's List coupon with no problem. He said he had the part in his van so he started to work once I agreed to the quote. Then he said he needed to run out to get some fittings he didn't have on him and he was back in 20 minutes to finish the job. The whole visit (including his trip out to get parts) took about 90 minutes. John was completely professional, kind and knowledgeable. I even asked him a couple plumbing questions out of curiosity as I am a new homeowner and he gave me his professional opinion without judging me. He was great and we will definitely call them again in the future. Very pleased!

The leak in the basement was mysterious because sometimes it would leak and sometimes not. The technician was able to find the leak and determine what was causing it and and an inspection of the copper pipes found another pipe that had the same problem so he repaired it as well.

They replaced two A/C units with heat pumps at a fair price with prompt and professional service. Their after service help has also been great.

We discovered water leaking into our laundry room from the floor above. Allgood came out and diagnosed the problem as being from the bathtub's drain pipe. The tech gave me a quote for fixing the line, which gave me sticker shock because it seemed pretty high. He patiently waited while I called my husband and we discussed what we wanted to do. He was extremely nice and understanding about our hesitation and concerns, and gave me privacy to talk as well. Eventually, we decided that most reputable plumbing is surprisingly pricey, and that we wanted to go ahead with this company. The work was completed in a timely manner, and we felt good about the service we received. I'll also add, ladies, that I felt comfortable with the worker, who was completely professional.

Our lawn care guy pointed out we had a very wet spot in our front yard and flowing water we decided was from a broken water pipe. This morning (after calling the City of Atlanta and being told it was our responsibility because it was in our yard), I called Allgood to see how soon they could come out. While at first it seemed they had a full schedule today, I was told they could provide a window for someone to come look at it today. Terry H. showed up around noon to take a look at it, established the needed to dig up around the leak to find where the leak was coming from, and then replaced a 2-foot section of pipe that had been buried on top of bricks and rocks that may have caused the pipe to crack. (Thanks, developer...) He did minimal damage to the yard, was extremely courteous and knowledgeable, and was done in about 3 hours. He also gave me a helpful tip about how to ask for a break on my next water bill if it is extremely high due to the leak. The cost wasn't cheap, but it didn't seem unrealistic either for the work that was done, especially considering they were able to come the same day.

We had a washer, dishwasher and kitchen sink that were backing up. I had wanted the plumbing company to go into the crawl space to see about unclogging the main drain. Was told that their equipment wouldn't fit under there. Upstairs in my laundry area, I was told that the type of "snake" available on the truck was not very flexible (? PVC-like) and that it probably wouldn't make the bend in the pipe behind our washer. And, if tried and failed, it would still be about $315 we'd have to pay for the attempt (was told by the plumber, however, that it probably wouldn't work (in his honest opinion) and he would hate to have to charge me, so at least he was trying to save us money, time, and mess.) He mentioned that there was the possibility that work would have to be done through the wall behind the washer and that would be over $800. He was a very nice man and professional and he was even willing to speak with my husband on the phone, which he did. So, I was just disappointed that there wasn't the kind of equipment available to either go into the crawlspace or properly snake our drain pipe from upstairs. All this being said, my two neighbors came over on the weekend, went into the crawlspace with a snake, drained the main drain/trap of lint and grease, etc. and snaked it and it ended up solving our terrible problem. Again, the technician was very nice, but the company did not meet our needs. I don't know if I'd try them again or not for another problem - maybe! Thank you!

Darrin, the plumber, was fabulous. Courteous, pleasant, and knowledgeable, he located the leak so fast, and did the correct thing by referring us to a specialty repair person. He explained exactly how to identify the leak to that person and was just super nice to deal with. Because of Angie's List, I got $50 off, so that was a gigantic discount from the total price of $89.

I noticed a leak in my front yard on Saturday morning near the water meter. I called Allgood and they had someone on site to evaluate the situation within a couple hours. They were prompt, professional, and provided what i felt like was a thorough analysis of the situation to determine the root cause of the problem to offer the best solution. Also important to note is that they did not charge for the diagnostic call. A few days later they showed up to make the repairs. They were on time, professional, easy to communicate with throughout the process, and most importantly they did a good job. While digging up the yard they hit the irrigation system a couple of times, but they were forthcoming and made the needed repairs. I also had them re-route some of the plumbing in the basement to circumvent an old filtration system. This work was also done to my satisfaction. Overall I was very pleased with the work and will call them again for future plumbing needs.

The technician showed up on time in a nice clean uniform, evaluated our situation (leaking hot water tank) and recommended a solution that was half as expensive as the first plumber we had look at our problem. They also came to our rescue within 24 hours of our first call which was a big plus. After quoting the job and stopping the leak on Friday, they showed up Monday to install the new tankless system. They were very professional in their communication and the quality of the work. I have been around construction and the finished product was first class and obviously the work of real craftsmen! Allgood did what it said it would do and we would not hesitate to use them again. Is there a better score than A, if so, we would give it to them. PS: the tankless water heater works great!

They didn't really do or find anything to resolve the issue.

They were professional, prompt, responsive; all was great right up until they quoted the price - it seemed very high. This was confirmed today when another licensed plumber I got to do the work did the job for less than half Allgood's quoted price. I don't mind paying a small premium for excellent service, but double the price is way too much.

Upon calling Allgood on a Friday morning, they were polite and sent Terry Hall out that afternoon (about 4 hours later). Upon arriving, Terry inspected the 13 year old toilet and determined that the "inside mechanisms" were simply worn out and beginning to leak. Terry seemed reasonable polite and professional. Unfortunately, Terry recommended either replacing the toilet with a new one for about $650 or rebuilding the inside of the current toilet for $334. This was simply OUTRAGEOUS when anyone could buy a new toilet from a local home improvement store for $100 and have it installed for another $100. Even with tax and disposal, the cost shouldn't exceed $250. To rebuild it with new internal valves, wax seal, etc. should cost less than $50 in parts for a total of $150-200 too. I understand that they need to make a buck and that they're not a major nationwide retail chain selling at discount prices, but what Terry quoted was almost predatory. For this reason, I would not recommend them as a trusted partner and will not plan to use them again.

The price quoted WITH a discount was 2500.00. They were very polite and professional but it was very high for the estimate. (Which was with US buying all of the supplies.) I ended up getting another licensed electrician to do the same work for around two hundred dollars. I could NOT believe they were charging such an exorbitant amount!

Andrew was very effecient and professional. He took the time necessary to diagnose and resolve our problem. We had had this evaluated on other occasions without a solution.

They were very expensive, more expensive than what I wanted to pay for the work I was trying to get them to do. They were way overboard. I was hoping to have them do the work, but they came in and told me $800 and something to put a cabinet sink in. I got it done from someone else for $300 and something. I would never call Allgood Plumbing for anything. I will definitely not. Then they emailed and I told them, "Take me off of your email list." One guy came out well dressed in a nice company truck. But it took him forever to come and give me a quote. The personality was good, but the thing was the price. It's like gouging people in my opinion. It's like they were coming and doing a whole bath, putting in a tub, sink, showers and all that for that price. There was nothing bad about them. $800 was just ridiculous. He didn't show me the price rates from a book. He just came out and said he looked in the book. It took him forever to find his book. Then he come and told me $800 and something. I'm not going to pay that.
