Description of Work: They changed an evaporator sensor in the AC system. The charge was almost exactly half what Ford Service quoted for the same job. |These guys are professional and honest, and I'm happy to refer others.

Description of Work: I have had my car to this business 5-6 times over the 20 years that I've owned it. They do great work. They are always professional and honest and give me an estimate prior to doing the work because it is an older, highly modified car. The date of service is just a guestimate. It has been close to a year since this work was performed but I was just prompted by Angie's List to review.

Description of Work: They replaced my air conditioner in my 2004 Suzuki car. It went exceptionally well! Smooth sailing I must say! I drove up and told them my problem, they then, took my car in for diagnosis that took perhaps 45 minutes to an hour. I didn't mind the wait because the shop is next to a nice deli restaurant, so the wait was quite pleasant and so was the food there! I had to leave my car there overnight because they had to get the part but I felt really confident in leaving my car there. The atmosphere of this shop was clean and organized. The technicians there seemed to enjoy what they do and it showed in the quality work they had done on my car! It's been a little over a year since I've been there but I had wanted to wait to see the performance of my new air conditioner before I wrote in about my view of this shop. I give this company an A+!!!

They called next morning to say that that was all that was needed and the A/C was working just fine. These guys don't try to ripe people off, I will be taking my other vehicle in within the next few months for A/C work. They did a great job, very impressed. Thanks Auto cool.
Description of Work: Originally went to Firestone in Dunwoody to have oil changed and have the AC checked as it was not cooling properly. I was informed by Firestone that my system was completely blocked and would require a complete system replacement at the cost of 1500.00. Said no thanks as I knew that the system did not need to be replaced. Called Auto Cool and to car to have it checked. They called that afternoon and said that the shreader valve was leaking and would need to replace before being able to diagnose the car.

They will diagnosis everything and tell you the cost up front. If they didn't complete the work, they will correct it. They are usually very good with their up front diagnosis. I think their prices are very good. They are also a greet one source service place for anything electrical. I used them last year to service my dodge intrepid. The battery cable had corroded. They replaced the part of the cable that was corroded, replaced it with new cable that they sottered in, it would have cost a greet deal more to replace the whole battery than just the cable part.

Auto cool had good reviews here so I took my truck to them as the a/c blower motor wasn't working. Fred and the guys got me in quick and confirmed I needed a new one. Gave me a good quote on parts and labor. They ordered the part and I told them I would be back when they opened the next day. When I got there at 7:15 am it was busy but they had it on in less than an hour and it is blowing ice cold. A busy shop is usually the sign of a good one! Check these guys out you won't regret it and your pocket wont either.

We took our car to the dealership to have the air conditioning system checked for servo motor hunting for cooling or heating. The dealership gave me an estimate for the repair and parts. the price for parts and labor was $970.00 plus tax. I am a mechanic myself and knew something was wrong with their diagnosis. So We took the car to Auto Cool for a diagnosis from them. I had not told them about our taking the car to the dealership until after their estimate. Auto Cool's estimate was around $395.21 for parts and labor. I showed them the dealership estimate and they just shook their heads. They didn't badmouth the dealership, they just said we can do the work for you. This is a sign of pride and integrity.

Excellent service. Would return again.
Description of Work: I have a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo station wagon. We thought we were going to have to put major $ into an A/C repair. We had two options: spend $700 on a new blower or put a bypass switch in to operate the blower manually for $163. Took the latter approach and it works like a charm. The folks there are very thoughtful and consciencious and hard-working. Would highly recommend!

My '04 Toyota Prius' air conditioning was working, but not very well. We dropped off the car last night. They called promptly this morning with an estimate. Brad was very professional. He told me that the two year old front end damage had bent the condenser, but that it was not leaking. Yet. The evaporator core has a very slow leak, but he didn't know how slow. Given that the A/C has provided a couple of years' worth of passable service since the front end damage, his guess is that it's a pretty slow leak. The evaporator is a special order part, and getting to it involves removing the dash board. We decided that the most sensible approach would be to top off the refrigerant, replace the cabin filter, and see how long the car goes before the A/C performance drops off. $1200 buys a lot of Freon. The car was ready to be picked up when promised. Brad was forthright about what he knew, what he could find out without the expense of disassembling the dash, and the various pros and cons for each of our repair options. His honesty and integrity are in contrast to what we encountered at a shop closer to home. The other shop said I had to get the body damage fixed first, or they would *never* be able to get a replacement condenser coil installed. The body shop estimate from their friends next door? $2200+ That's before they even thought about troubleshooting any other problems. I can understand that it would be nice to have the condenser's mounts back in place where the factory schematics said they should be, but given that they were a half inch out of place, I think a competent mechanic could get us running (perhaps without a warranty on that particular part). A younger car might well be worth the cost of getting it back to factory specs, but this car is not. Instead of trying to talk us into thousands of dollars in body work just to get started, Brad found an alternative approach that got us the A/C performance we needed. He, and Cool Auto, have our unqualified endorsement!
Description of Work: They added refrigerant to the air conditioning, identified leaks and potential leaks, replaced the cabin air filter, and provided an estimate to replace the A/C evaporator core and the A/C condenser. The A/C evaporator (the part inside the dash board) was found to have a tiny leak. The A/C condenser had been bent in a front end collision two years ago, but the condenser was still functional. Not pretty, but not leaking, either. The car's Blue Book value is between $5100 and $6300, and it has 90k+ miles on the odometer. Brad at Cool Auto suggested that given the age and condition of the car, he would recommend adding refrigerant and replacing the very (dog) hairy cabin filter. He offered to replace the evaporator (special order from Toyota) and the condenser for $1200+. He suggested that if the A/C's slow leak lets it go several months (or longer) without needing to be topped off, then don't spend the $1200 to $1400 when $140's worth of service would meet our needs.

My Jeep's AC has been operating intermittently for about 3 years now. I had taken it to the dealer who looked at it and shrugged "looks like it's working to me", Auto Cool diagnosed and repaired the AC in about 2 hours. They had to re-shim the compressor clutch and tighten the serpentine belt.

I had driven by Auto Cool and decided to give it a try. They checked over my car and determined what was necessary and arranged for me to bring it back that afternoon. They were friendly, reasonably priced and did the work as promised. They occasionally run specials as well. They have been in this business for 24 years.
Description of Work: Auto Cool repaired the A/C in my 2002 VW Gulf. They checked over the system for leaks and found one in the coil. They determined that it was low on Freon and would probably need to be recharged about once a year. They added about 12 ounces of Freon and 1 ounce of a specialized oil for the compressor. The A/C is working fine now.
