We had an "unexpected" complete drain blockage about noon on a weekday. Based on other reviews here, we call Mr. Rooter. They set up an appointment for 2:30, and the technician arrived at promptly 2:30. He was very professional, wore booties whenever he was in our home. Before the work was done, we were given a written price to sign for. Even though the problem seemed a bit more elusive than anticipated (almost 2 hours at our home), there was not attempt to add charges. We received a follow-up call the following day to assure we were pleased with the service. We would highly recommend for prompt, professional service.

I own a property down there but our daughter lives there and she coordinates most of the stuff going on down there. I do know that we have used them and it has been a positive relationship. They have been very helpful. My daughter is a college student and she has a crazy schedule. They have been easy for her to contact. They have been able to work around her schedule and get there when she needed them to, and they were very professional in dealings. They are a little expensive.
Description of Work: We have used Mr. Rooter of Savannah for plumbing. They came out and did some work on the water heater last year. We recently had trouble with the sewer line backing up and they came out and used their snake to clean that out.

There are many variables to consider in a remodel. Johnnie knew all of the things we should consider and advised us on various aspects of the job. He was very courteous and punctual with this appointment.

I live in the Ft. McAllister community of Richmond Hill, GA, and on Sunday evening, November 23, 2014, all of my toilets stopped flushing and water began backing up in my bathtubs. In addition, water was spewing from under the base of the toilet in the master bath. After quickly checking Angie's List reviews for plumbers, I called Mr. Rooter where I left a message with the answering service for someone to call me as soon as possible. They told me that some would call me back within 10 minutes. After an hour, no one had called, so I called Mr. Rooter's answering service again. It was about 10 PM by this time. In less than 5 minutes Mark called me back and apologized for not calling me back sooner. He explained that he had missed the text from his answering service and again apologized for calling me sooner. After explaining to Mark the situation, we agreed that the situation was under control to the point it could wait until the next day for attention. By that time I had got the water to stop flooding the bathroom and things were much more manageable at that point. Mark promised to have someone out the next day and stated they would call before heading to Richmond Hill. The next day I received a call from Mr. Rooter, explaining that a technician would be out by 3:00 PM, maybe sooner. At 1:00 PM I received a call from Taylor Flake, Plumbing Technician, stating that they were on the way. The plumbers arrived at 1:45 PM. When I received the knock at my door I was greeted by Terry, who introduced himself and stated that he was there to address my plumbing issues. Terry was accompanied by Taylor Flake and it became readily apparent that Terry was a trainee and Taylor was training him to become a plumbing technician. Taylor was very professional and seemed competent in all areas. On the other hand, Terry, was very unsure of himself and obviously confused about everything going on. It took them a few minutes to find the drain clean-out outside and, with Taylor's patient instruction, they were able to clean the clog from the main line from my house to the septic tank. Terry and Taylor then proceeded inside the house where they addressed the blown wax seal under the master bath toilet. Taylor, doing his job as a trainer, allowed Terry to take the lead and, while I am ignorant of most things plumbing, it soon became obvious that Terry had no clue what he was doing, and seemed very clumsy in his attempt to address the situation. I was a bit disturbed by the fact that when Terry pulled up the toilet to replace the seal, he put the toilet right back down in the same spot without making any attempt to clean the accumulated yellowed crud up from under the toilet. Ultimately, though, Taylor had to completely redo everything Terry had done since Terry had improperly installed the bolts at the base of the toilet, which meant pulling the toilet back up. This, however, gave me an opportunity to grab a rag and clean the crud up from the toilet footprint before they set it back down. Another noteworthy observation is the fact that when both plumbing techs walked into my house, Taylor wore paper booties to prevent tracking dirt and crap inside my house. Terry, on the other hand, wore nothing over his shoes and tracked black clods of dirt through the house and on the carpet. I had to vacuum (twice) after they left. Prior to leaving Taylor Flake provided a courtesy walk-through and examined all the plumbing inside my house, including the water heater in the attic. I was very impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. In summary, I was very satisfied with the plumbing performed by Taylor and Terry of Mr. Rooter Plumbing. Honestly, I'm not sure if Terry has the aptitude for being a plumber. He struggled with every task, from cleaning out the drain, to replacing the wax seal in the toilet, to writing the bill. Fortunately, Taylor took over these tasks and did a good job. Both plumbing techs were intensely polite and courteous throughout their appointment. The final bill was $298, which is certainly reasonable, considering Mr. Rooter, as a company, was very prompt about responding to my plumbing needs and effectively addressed my issues. I must add, though, that after Taylor and Terry left, the toilet they had worked on began dripping from the water connection. I did not call them back since it is something I will attempt to resolve myself. Right now, I have a cup behind the toilet catching the steady drip drip drip from the main water connection. Will I call Mr. Rooter again for my plumbing needs? ? YES! Would I recommend them to friends needing plumbing work? ?. again, the answer is YES!
Description of Work: The technicians from Mr. Rooter unclogged the drain from the house to the septic tank and replaced the wax seal to the toilet in the master bathroom. They also provided a courtesy walk through inspection of the rest of my household plumbing while they were here.

Description of Work: Just purchased the home and the shower faucet wouldn't work. We called Mr Rooter to come to replace it. Silly but it just wouldn't work at all. Apparently the previous owners hooked it up rather strangely. Either way, he figured it out and showed us how to use it at no charge.

Finally, a contractor in Savannah you can depend on! To say Mr. Mark Jacobs was the most professional contractor I've worked with in Savannah would be an understatement. Whether it was taking extra care not to track dirt in the house, his absolute professional appearance and demeanor, or his knowledge and ability to explain the great plumbing mysteries of the Universe (phantom smells, their causes and potential solutions), Mr. Rooter completety exceeded my expectations and I look forward to working with them in the future.

I can hardly imagine a better late Sunday night plumbers call. Our toilets, shower, and tubs all backed up and toilet water coming out of bottom of toilet where it connects to the floor. I jumped on Angie's List, looked for highest rated plumber who had emergency hours and called. Within the hour, Mike, a very nice, well-trained and CALM plumber arrived. He diagnosed the problem and cleaned out the waste trap. I only recently joined Angie's List and have found an excellent HVAC and plumber because of it. It really works.

Response from Mr Rooter Plumbing of Savannah
I spoke with the technician that attended to the customer's needs. The prices we charge are published in a price book by task and are in-line with other qualified plumbing companies. Customers are also given the price before the service begins. As an additional task, the technician offered to change out the "studor vent" under the sink, but was told by the husband that he (the husband) would get the part and do it himself as it is an item easily serviced by a homeowner. We are in the business of fixing plumbing issues and we will do everything that is needed by a homeowner to make their plumbing system safe and operational, but we will also help a homeowner save money by letting them know if a repair is within a typical homeowner's ability as was this particular task. I regret that this was not an "A" experience for the customer and we will strive to better in the future. Sincerely, Mark Jacobs, Owner

Never got a response. Reading their Facebook page, it appears this is a trend within the company. Only it seems most of the lack of response comes AFTER the work is completed! I never got that far... thank goodness!
Description of Work: I requested info. & a date for service last week. Still have not heard back. They apparently do not value their Angie's List customers very much since they don't even bother to check the e-mails & return them. After some research & a visit to their Facebook site, I think I will look elsewhere. If you have any concerns... I would look there too. It's enough to scare anyone away w/ the horrible experiences people have had.

The last time I called them (in mid May) I had a leaking toilet tank, and a question about repairing our laundry drainage field. Their rep came a day earlier than originally scheduled (they called first to see if that would be convenient), told me I just needed a new washer for the toilet tank, and when I showed him one that I had, he confirmed that was all I needed and, since I knew how to put it on myself, did not charge me for the visit. After looking at the laundry problem, he told me that his company could not handle the laundry drain field repair but recommended a reliable company to call. These are great people! They know what to do and how to do it, and even better, they know what they DON'T do and don't try to convince you they can do something outside the scope of their company.
Description of Work: We have had Mr. Rooter handle several plumbing problems for us over the past two years. They have cleared a toilet drain line, replaced the basket drain in our kitchen sink, and fix the float in a toilet. They will be coming this Monday (6/9) to work on a water supply valve. We call them over and over because their staff are dependable, prompt, courteous (they put on shoe covers before coming in the house!) and extremely skilled and efficient.

I am not happy with the cost of $240.00 to clear the bath tub and the sink drain, way over priced. Before he started, I did sign the estimate for that amount, thinking that he had to do a lot of work to get the job done. But the bath tub was an easy job; the sink took longer. The next day, I called the company upset about the price I paid, but they would not make an adjustment. and they never called back. On the positive side, the man arrived on time and was professional. .But the whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt I was ignorant about plumbing and taken advantage of..... I especially feel bad because I bought the 3 year service plan for another $100.
Description of Work: He cleared the drain in the bath tub and the sink. He left what he got out of the tub drain, which was a small handful of hair, in the waste paper basket. He explained that the drain mechanism had been installed incorrectly. It took him only a few minutes to clear the tub drain. He took more time to fix the sink.

I honestly don't remember all the details. It was about a year ago, at least. I think the cost was around $100, which seemed reasonable to me for the speed of service that we received. I had a shower drain that was backing up. I called Mr. Rooter and they sent someone out that same morning. It was either on a Friday or a Saturday. I just remember being (very pleasantly) shocked that someone would be coming out that same day. The service rep showed up promptly when promised, was neatly attired in a clean uniform, performed the job quickly, efficiently, and with no big mess. Closed everything up and we haven't had any problems since then. After all I've heard about plumbers, I was very pleasantly surprised, and I would call them again if I needed a plumber (but I hope I won't -ha!).
Description of Work: They ran a snake down the water main outside and found that it was clogged with some plant roots. He cleared that out, sealed the pipe, closed it all back up, we haven't had any trouble since then.
