Description of Work: Apple Siders installed new vinyl siding on my house several years ago.

Description of Work: My husband hired Mark Wright, owner of Apple Siders to replace our older (but in good condition) fiber board siding with low maintenance vinyl siding based on his website and internet reviews. He also took my husband to a local house to show him his handiwork that evening. (On a personal note, I would not have hired hm myself after our first meeting). He told my husband since he was the only one doing the work, it would take 10-14 days. The first day Mr. Wright showed up at my house he was obviously unprofessional in his demeanor and not time reliable. We were also havng our roof replaced and Mr. Wright mmeidately started making criticizing comments about the roofers. He only dropped off supplies and told me he'd be back around lunch time the next day. He failed to show until after 2:00 pm. When he did, he was gorging himself on a sandwich and then proceeded to ask to use my bathroom....and not for a quick visit. I must say his personal habits are as disgusting as his handiwork. There was not one day he arrived at my house before 2:00 pm. He left many occasions after only being here a few hours to do other jobs and on one occasion to get his van washed. After he started putting up the siding, he did a few "repairs" on my porch where he said there was rotten wood (which I was aware of). He left huge holes in the soffit board and hid it by covering it with vinyl. We did not find this until was removed. The siding itself was not properly installed. He did not use a track to start the bottom lap, but instead nailed the siding the fiberboard, sometimes not even covering the existing board. He nailed the aluminum trim to the outside of the fascia board causing holes and dents in the aluminum. There was not one corner that was mitered or nailed properly. He did not even remove the existing vent covers from the soffits until my husband questioned him about it. Everywhere he leaned a ladder against the vinyl was pushed in. When confronted Mr. Wright always replied "oh I can fix that". It seemed to be his mantra. The fixes I requested were worse than his original application. Mr. Wrights main concern is tooting his own horn and tryng to impress you with his delusional ideas of himself. The brand new security lights we purchased were attached only by the wires into the vinyl soffits, thus making them flimsy and floppy. When I confronted Mr. Wright about problems I was having with some of his work, he informed me he was an award winning professional and the materials were expensive but it was my perogative if I wanted him to keep making repairs. Mainly I just had to tell him what I want (how about a quality job?), he tells me and then he can do it. When the third week arrived, we contacted another construction professional we have worked with to give us an assessment of Mr. Wrights work. He was appalled. He pointed out each and every piece (which ended up being all of it) Mr. Wright managed to install improperly. As a matter of fact, the work looked like a first semester high school shop project. We ended up firing Mr. Wright and telling him to come get his things. He left what little siding and aluminum was unused (about a quarter of it). He then expected us to pay him the 2400 for his labor. We paid $1676.00 for materials that ended up goign to the dump along, with my existing fiberboard siding he ruined. We even had two sales reps from the supply company come out and view the work. They also were shocked and appalled. Needless to say all of the siding and aluminum he iinstalled had to be removed. While removing the vinyl, water from a recent rain storrn had already gathered and pooled in a lap piece under my husbands office window. After having the vinyl removed we are left with large gaping holes in our front porch soffit and corner and 1676. worth of non reusable trash. Do not be fooled by his glowing reviews on his website. The pictures are taken from a distance and most of the information was written by himself. If you hire this guy, there are three things you can definitely rest assured on....he will ruin your house, waste your time and money and leave your bathroom smelling like .......well you know everyday. Right now, we are having the siding totally redone and the house repaired by someone reliable and on time, with enough manners to go to the convenience store if nature callls. We are waiting to see if Mr. Wright is going to file suit for payment of services. If not, I will be pursuing ways to recover my wasted supply money and the extra payments I'm making for someone to correct this mess. I took lots and lots of before and after and after pictures and videos. Do not use the company. Plus, I'm not even sure he has a licence to work construction in GA. He flaunts his FL licence and even has a FL tag on his van. I cannot understand how he operates in GA. Save yourself some grief, sleepless nights and stress on your marriage by running away from this man.
