Four movers came to load our boxes and our furniture. They wrapped all of the furniture before placing it in the truck. They were really good. They were easy going respectful, and warm. They had an excellent demeanor. The owner came to our house and met with us before the service to discuss the work. They were on time with our things. Everything was fine. They even assisted us with moving a refrigerator that was at the new house into the basement. I would recommend them to anyone.

The first time they were very good, the second time, they did not bring enough truck, which they were supposed to bring and they had to make extra trip which delayed the whole day. So they had brought the one big truck, we could have sped things up but they were good. My husband ended talking to them and they gave us a little break on the mileage and didn’t charge us the mileage, which was good because it was their fault for not bringing the truck, so we ended up having a thirteen hour move instead of an eight hour move. But they were very good and I am unpacking my stuff now and nothing seems to be broken. They were protective of my things, they wouldn’t let me lift a box at all, and just made me sit and watch. I was very impressed with how they traced my furniture, put the bed back together and they were like, “Mam, where do you want this” and all I had to do was point the finger. They were very good about putting the mirror back on the dresser and then they would ask me how I wanted it, if in the middle of the wall or side. So they were very, very courteous. They treated it like it was their stuff. They really took pride in picking up my items and I appreciated that. It was good. They were on time.
Description of Work: We used Georgia Pack & Load for moving. They were very good so we used them again. I had to move a lot of storage unit and I used them again to move to our new house. I moved about ten miles. We sold the big house, had to move into an apartment and put everything in storage till we actually downsized into a town house.

The movers arrived on time, took the time to wrap all of the furniture. Had a few scratches on the walls, but that's to be expected. Only had damage to two pieces of furniture so overall the move was good.

From the moment Bruce stepped in our house to give us a quote, I trusted this company would do a good job. I had interviewed several other companies and I am thankful we went with this one. I asked a ton of questions and they answered them all. The crew leader called a couple days before and the day of to confirm everything. They got to our house on time and handled everything even better than what I expected. All the railings were covered, all the floors (hardwood) were protected and they did a wonderful job wrapping everything up and giving us the comfort that they would handle it all and no worries. AND THEY DID. Jude's crew was the best crew. They worked very hard to satisfy our needs and even though it was late at night when we finished, they never acted like it was a bother and they worked until the bitter end. They went above and beyond. Use this company?I promise you will be satisfied.

Man who answered phone identified himself as company dispatcher, confirmed responsible to coordinate & schedule interstate moves, claimed knew all about needs for interstate moves across US, then said they (drivers) needed only one day of travel time to drive from Atlanta Georgia to Colorado Springs Colorado (?!). Questioned him how the 1,300 mile trip could be driven in one day since Fed regs only allow 11 hours of driving per day? He became defensive and said he always allows one day of travel for all moves (?!). Told him I need coordinate & schedule storage at other end of drive so need know real driving time days & ETA in CO. He said rudely & loudly: "Ma'am, find yourself another moving company!" And slammed down the phone.

Response from Georgia Pack & Load Moving & Storage
This is a false review. We do not even go to Colorado so there is no way we would have even given this information to a customer, much less told them we could drive it in one day. I am not sure of which company they spoke with, but it definitely was not our company.

Bruce Fendrich was prompt and very professional through out our contacts. The further we got into discussing the details of what i needed and expected in a move the more it appeared he was concerned that i was over reaching in my expectations of them as a mover....which was never the case. We just have some fragile items which need crating and /or service at both ends of the move and i wanted to be sure they were fully considered in the estimate. I offered to send Bruce many photos of what they would be moving but at that point he said he felt i would be better off with another mover...that really stunned me ,but at that point i sought other movers since Ga Pack and Load apparently doesnt want my business...a big mistake on their part. The above notwithstanding, i would do business with them again if i lived in Georgia so that they would prepare an estimate based on actually seeing what they were going to be moving.
Description of Work: I am moving from South Carolina to Georgia. This company is in Georgia. i contacted them off of Angie's List for moving estimates. I sent them an inventory of what i wanted to move and promptly received a very attractive estimate. Nevertheless, in spite of their Angies List reviews i wanted them to come and physically inventory my furniture, but they declined saying they dont do physical inventories outside of the state of Georgia. Since i wasnt confident about the estimate due to having to move quite a few specialty items , we mutually agreed we wouldnt proceed from there.

We appreciate the opportunity that [member name removed] gave us to provide him moving services. The main conflict was that he wanted us to come to South Carolina to do an onsite survey for his move and we just dont go out of state to do surveys. This would have required about 4 hours roundtrip which is just not cost effective. It's not that we didnt want to do [member name removed] move its just that we felt that some of the requirements for his move (woodcrating) is not something we do out of state. We do hundreds of Interstate Moves a year in and out of Atlanta. Had he been in the Atlanta Metro area we could have accomodated his request no problem. In short, we just didnt feel that we could provide all of the services that were needed for this job and wanted to make sure that [member name removed] had a pleasurable experience. We wish him the best of luck on his move.

They contacted me immediately about my inquiry. Sent out a rep to do a walk through & check the new location I was moving to due to logistics with unloading. Because there was such a steep incline, they had to send two extra men, which they explained to me prior to giving me the final quote. The packing team of Mary, Tim & Toya packed up the house the day before the move, faster than expected. The morning of the move, I got a call from the company explaining they would be about an hour late due to a fatal accident that had traffic tied up and several of their men stuck on I-85. Hey stuff happens....not their fault, & I appreciate that they called before they were supposed to be there. DeMarco & his team got there and got to work. They worked hard & did a great job and finished faster than quoted time. There was an error made in the amount of the total bill due to the packers not adding in the labor, but the company called me back right away to tell me about the error. I thought the price was low, but was distracted due to the fact I had just gotten back from the closing, or I probably would have caught it myself. The move went well and everyone did a great job! I'm impressed!

We had a great experience with Georgia Pack & Load during our recent move from Atlanta, GA to Tallahassee, FL. It started with the initial interview / job estimate done by Ralph Herrin, President/CEO. He is very experienced, knowledgeable, and a downright nice fellow. We not only learned a lot of useful information about moving, but it was interesting learning about his efforts to build a top-notch, customer-focused moving company. His bid for the job was very competitive. The load/ship/deliver price was fixed, but the price to pack was an estimate based on an hourly labor rate and materials. We were a little nervous about the open-ended nature of the packing bid, but Ralph nailed the estimate in terms of both hours and materials. We paid by credit card, which was very convenient. The only trepidation we had was that this required that the load, ship, and deliver cost be paid up-front before any of the loading had occurred. However, given the strong reviews on Angie?s List and the Better Business Bureau, along with the positive impression made by Ralph Herrin, we went ahead and paid the full bill up front. There were no issues with this. The next positive experience was with the packing team led by Demarco Johnson. They were incredibly polite and proficient. They asked many good questions which helped make sure the packing was optimized to make loading and unpacking go smoothly. They worked very hard with almost no breaks and finished the packing job right on time. The next positive experience was the load/ship/delivery team lead by Fred Hammonds. How can you not be impressed with a team-leader whose first question is ?what can we do to make this a perfect move for you???...and then they listened to our answers and made it happen. As with the packing team, they were very polite and proficient. They worked hard through every phase of the move. We had a couple of challenging pieces, including an upright piano and some other large, heavy hand-made custom pieces of furniture. The team not only delivered our goods exactly on time and in perfect condition, they placed and set things up exactly as we asked. We recommend Georgia Pack and Load without reservation.

The move went well. We ended up having to pay an up charge as we had a much larger task at hand than we originally thought when we purchased. The people who handled the move from the person who scheduled the move to the mover themselves were fantastic. They moved of us out of 2 10x15 storage units approximately 1.5 miles from our newly purchased home. The guys were not only careful with our goods but they asked appropriate questions about where to put items and were very helpful and pretty darn quick considering the amount of furniture and boxes. Would highly recommend and use again in the future.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! I did a residential move with Goergia Pack & Load last month and was completely impressed with the level of service and professionalism from start to finish. After doing a lot of research and reading endless reviews online, I narrowed my list down to 4 possible vendors - I called all 4 for an initial estimate. Georgia Pack & Load had great reviews on Angie's List but I ultimately decided to go with them because of the professionalism, friendliness, and patience exhibited during my initial call. This same level of service carried through to the pre-move check in and finally, to my assigned movers, Josh and Antonio, on moving day. As you know, moving is an extremely stressful undertaking, but they took the time to keep me calm and smiling, find out my needs and wishes, and co-operate to make sure my belongings were well taken care of. They were patient, attentive, and maintained a "can-do", teamplayer attitude throughout the entire move. We had a minor roadblock at my new building with malfunctioning elevators, but Josh and Antonio immediately switched into "solution mode", reassuring me, and taking the initiative to unload the truck while the elevator was being serviced. They were even willing to walk my belongings up 10 flights of stairs!! Anything to take care of the customer :) And boy, can Josh drive that truck!! All in all, I was absolutely blown away by GA Pack & Load and would highly recommend them to others. They seem to really take pride in what they do.

The crew was punctual and professional. They arrived on time and worked diligently the whole time. I had to move out of my old house on a Thursday before closing on the sale of it on Friday. They held the furniture on the truck for 2 nights, and then unloaded at my new home on Saturday. It was raining the entire day of the move, and the guys didn't seem to let it bother them. Also, it was very cold! Then unloading at the new residence, it was drizzling a bit and extremely cold. They used blankets to wrap most everything, and when I asked about the shrink wrap, they used it too. They definitely worked together as a team, and were patient when we couldn't decide where to put things.. The only complaint I have is that they used hand trucks to move the furniture from the truck into the house.( I don't know if this is typical for all companies). I didn't notice too many scratches at first, but later on I did notice on almost every piece there was like a scrape on the bottom or side of the furniture. Of course, the one piece of furniture I asked them to be extra careful with, there was a pretty bad scrape on it. Yes, touch up pens did conceal most of it. Just seems like unnecessary damage. Be sure to ask about hand truck use when getting estimates! I had no idea..

The guys on the truck were outstanding.
Description of Work: This company is exceptional. I explained we had 2 locations to pick up and one to deliver and was worried that we couldn't get everything done in one day because we had to be out of the house. Georgia Pack and Load said they would work until midnight if needed to make this happen for me. I couldn't have asked for a better move. I would recommend this company to anyone in the Atlanta area to use this company. I have used other movers and NEVER had the service I received from this company. There was not one scratch on anything and some of this furniture was very heavy. They set everything in the property location and worked with us to make this an easy move.

Bruce, in sales, was very responsive to my email and was able to give me an estimate over the phone. We had to change the date last minute from Saturday to Sunday and that wasn't an issue. They charged an hourly rate for us which worked out well since we had everything pre-packed in boxes. 4 guys showed up (Jude, Brandon, Rufus and Jermaine) and called me beforehand to let me know how far out they were. We had a steep driveway and they managed it well. Jude knows how to drive a truck! They wrapped all our furniture and managed to not do any damage despite how heavy some of our furniture was going up/down stairs. Easy experience. The guys worked hard. Would recommend or use them again.

Georgia Pack & Load was able to add my move to their schedule and put my furniture/belongings into their climate controlled storage at a moment's notice and helped me out of a major jam. I sold my house and had lined up a different moving and storage company, but on moving day the other movers were 2 1/2 hours late (6:30 p.m. on a Saturday) and then refused to move me because I wanted to read the contract before signing it. I was left with no choice but to look for a new mover who could also provide climate controlled storage and at a moment's notice. I searched and found Georgia Pack & Load. Early Sunday morning I held my breath and called fully expecting to hear a recording stating the office hours. However, JR answered the phone and after hearing about my situation said he would see if he could get me added to their schedule before my deadline of having to be out of a house I no longer owned. (I'm lucky the new owners were so gracious.) JR called me back and said he could get a crew to the house that day. He sent a great crew lead by Steven. The moving crew was polite, professional and handled my furniture and belongings with care. I recommend Georgia Pack & Load without hesitation.

I contacted Bruce at the company in mid-September to get an estimate on the move. I was moving the contents of 2 storage buildings which was the equivalent of a 2 bedroom apartment. I was actually working/living in San Antonio, TX...the goods were in Conyers, GA....and I needed them moved to Tulsa, OK. I actually contacted 4 total providers. The other 3 could not guarantee the delivery dates; they would place my items on a truck with several other deliveries. Since I had to start work on a specific date, that situation would not work for me. Georgia Pack & Load stated they would put all my items on a smaller truck and guaranteed a delivery date. The guys were scheduled to arrive Oct 7 between 9 & 9:30. They called me at 8am and asked if they could start early at 8:30. Fred and Richard (I think that was the 2nd gentleman's name) arrived promptly at 8:30, surveyed the situation, and immediately got to work. The majority of the stuff was already boxed up so they had everything securely packed and loaded in about 2 hours. I had 2 or 3 pieces of antique furniture including a wash stand with a removable, custom cut marble slab top. All of these items were securely packed to my satisfaction. The truck was scheduled to arrive in Tulsa on Oct 9. When Fred and I were discussing the final itinerary he said "What time tomorrow (Oct 8) would you like delivery?" I told him I was flying into Tulsa on the 8th, flight was scheduled to land at 10am so I told him to call me when they arrived in Tulsa. I really didn't expect to hear from them until Oct 9. My flight landed at 10am, I caught a cab to my sister's house, and at 11:30 Fred called and said "Hey, we are in Tulsa. What time would be good for the delivery?" I met them approximately 2 hours later and they had everything off the truck and set up by 5pm! Fred and Josh did an excellent job of placing all the furniture in the proper places. All of my antiques arrived in excellent condition; I have since unloaded all the boxes and there was no breakage at all. To summarize: they arrived an hour early for the load up and a day early with the delivery!! I couldn't ask for better service or for nicer guys to work with. I would recommend this company to anybody who is planning any type of move. PS: They take American Express so hello SkyMiles!!

The crew showed up at exactly 9 am and took a look around the apartment. I filled out some paperwork and within thirty minutes they had half of the boxes in the truck. They divided up their roles and were smart in how they executed the stairs. One man helped box up unpackaged items, while two men would hand off boxes at the middle floor of the stairs to make it a bit easier. The 4th man stayed in truck arranging and rearranging the boxes so that everything fit and we could make one trip. They took a 5 minute break one time and a thirty minute break for lunch after everything was in the truck. They helped me unload a second truck at our new place and even helped me mount my TV which was a HUGE help. There were some things that they are not supposed to move (liquids, guns, plants, etc). They were happy to still help us load up our cars and then unload them once we got to our new place. The guys were very nice and respectful to my wife and mother-in-law. I would definitely recommend this company and would suggest you be realistic when hiring them. They will quote you as honest as they can but allow for a little cushion in case they go over. They probably could have finished in the 4-5 hour range but I had them do EVERYTHING and they were happy to do it. Moving is no fun but these guys made it a lot easier.
Description of Work: I had been looking for a company to help me move my wife and I out of our apartment (down three flights of stairs) into our new property. I called a handful of moving companies who all quoted me $169 and $179 an hour for a 2-3 man crew. Bruce took care of us and said he would give us a 4 man crew for $159 an hour + $159 truck / trip fee PLUS $50,000 insurance for free with a $300 deductible. He quoted that it would probably take 4-5 hours. I went ahead and budgeted 6-7 because I wanted a hands free move and I knew how tough the stairs were. I ended up paying a little under $1,200 plus a tip that I wanted to give each of the guys.

I was very interested in using this provider to move me from Atlanta to Charlotte based on the Angie's list reviews. I contacted them via phone and was told that they would send me a cube sheet. I was to fill the cube sheet out and email it back. I spent time filling out the cube sheet and emailed it back promptly. I never heard anything else from them. I sent a follow up email a few days later, and never got a response. Needless to say I went with another provider based on this experience.
Description of Work: They did not respond to me when I emailed them the cube information.

Response from Georgia Pack & Load Moving & Storage
We are truly sorry this customer felt they had a bad experience with us. We looked back though our communications and found where we had quoted her. Unfortunately sometimes when we send communications to a Gmail account it gets filtered into the spam folder. This must have been the case. Charlotte is one of our preferred destinations. As always we value all of Angie's List relationships and are disappointed when a member is not satisfied.

Great Moving experience from first to last. Bruce was really nice on the phone and gave me a quote for the move. He said 2 trucks and 5 men would do it in 8-9 hours. He was right! The trucks showed up on time and the 5 men went to work. They were super careful with our things but moved quickly and worked as a team. Then they loaded up two big storage units. At the house they worked just a hard. This was not our first move but it was our best moving experience. The movers were friendly and pleasant to work with. Nothing was damaged - not a single scratch or ding. From our lawnmower to my grandmother's cupboard, everything was handled with care. I would use Georgia Packing again and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. Thank you Bruce and thanks to all of the movers. Great job!
