they will only take small things and nothing extra

Our route was "transferred" from Waste Management, but WM kept sending bills and AD never sent a bill of any kind, so I continued to pay WM. AD sent a nasty letter saying we were overdue and they were cancelling service. I called customer service and they took my phone number and said they would check with WM and get back to me. They never did. Now they say they will not work with WM to straighten out the problem and that it will cost $55 to resume service.

They simply do not pick up their phone. If this is what it is like trying to get service how worse is it when they are already taking my money?

We had used this company since 2011 and was satisfied with the weekly trash service. They picked up both trash and recycle goods individually every week. I really had no complaints until today when I got an automated phone call from Waste Management that indicated they were now our waste management company. We had moved to Waste Management years ago when a local trash collection company went under and there really wasn't any other choice in our area. Our experience with Waste Management was very poor. Their trucks were notorious for leaking fluids (oils) down the streets, they were not pleasant to talk to over the phone and worst of all, they increased prices very regularly. We ceased doing business with Waste Management because of those issues, and luckily a couple of other waste management companies had started doing business in our area. Today, without any customer notice from American Disposal, we learned that our account has been sold to Waste Management. I contacted American Disposal and was told "oh, sorry, yes we are not going to service your area anymore, but you can call Waste Management to find out more". That went over like a "lead balloon" and I advised the person on the phone that this behavior from a company was unprofessional and very poor customer service. I also informed him that their decision to sell off my account to Waste Management (without my permission or any advance notice) was not something that was going to stay that way. We have quite a few competing waste companies in our area today as alternatives to Waste Management. In the past, I would have recommended American Disposal as a trash company. Today, I wouldn't suggest buying a toothpick from them. If they ever decide to re-enter the market in our sub-division, what they just did would prohibit my giving them any business in the future. American Disposal is a trash company that ultimately treated the customer like garbage... (Small update): My conversation with Waste Management was actually a refreshing change from my experiences with them from the past. They seem a lot more open to "competitive pricing" and listening to the customer. The impression that I got from talking to them is that this is a very different company that they were in the past (their words). I'm going to give them a try and will be watching to see if the "behavior" matches the "words". If it does, Waste Management will retain this customer...a lesson that American Disposal didn't apparently know how to perform or care about.

they provide a service that may seem unimportant, but when you can tell the time on trash day by their truck arriving and the speed that it takes them to do their job, I am amazed. it is not an easy job, but they do their job with a professional air.

American Disposal took over our route from Waste Management. They did not bother to tell me my trash and recycling pick up date changed which resulted in me having three weeks worth of trash to be pick up when I finally called them to find out what was going on. They continued to bill me for the next quarter after I replaced them. We have been called by their billing folks weekly to pay a quarterly fee for the quarter after we terminated them! They have the worst customer service of anyone I have dealt with and never call back when they say they will. It took me three calls for them to confirm we did terminate their services two months ago and they still call for the payment. They are far more interested in getting paid instead of earning it.

I was forced to use American Disposal Services because they bought out the small local company I had used for years. In a nutshell, they charge more for less service. I called to cancel the service because another local company is $10/month less and picks up twice a week. They offered to match what I was offered...too little too late. They sent a bill for cancelling the service. When I called they said it is on their invoice and can't do anything about it. Who charges to cancel a monthly service that doesn't have a contract to begin with? I do auto pay and was not informed of the fee when I cancelled. I am glad I am going back to a locally owned business. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AMD THEIR SERVICE STINKS!!! There were several instances when they simply didn't pick up my trash. When I called they gave me a hard time and didn't want to come back for a few days.

American Disposal has been picking up every week. There was a time were the regular trash would get picked up but the recyclables would not. So I called the company and they promptly sent someone out. Today, the same thing happened. The regular garbage got picked up and the recyclables did not. So, I called again. They assured me that someone will be by. Each time I have called the representatives have been very helpful. I am hopeful this is behavior does not become a pattern.

They have been great. Their services have been good all around. They provide the containers, and originally I tried to use my own and they really caught my neck on it, but other than they have been great compared to the $147 that I was paying to manage it myself.

Service was not reliable. If scheduled for a Holiday they would not pick up the next day, instead another week would go by. They also left trash and recycling bins in the street, knocked over, lid not near the bin. Bins often blocked traffic or driveway. I did not receive regular statements or invoices. When I received notice the monthly fee was going from $26 to $28 I called and cancelled my service. I paid their cancellation fee but they continued to harrasse me with invoices showing a balance due. I'd call and be told it was a pro-ration for the month after I cancelled, then that it was a balance from a previous month, even though I always paid in full prior to late date each and every month and had never received a late notice.I left several messages for a Supervisor who didn't call me back. Very disappointing and dishonest.
