Tim has been cleaning the carpets in my home for the past 3 years. My mother used him for her house and recommended him.
I have a multi-level house and he included the price of the stairs with the hallway since there are 6 steps on that landing (which he did not have to do). He has always done a very good job. He has gone above and beyond in that, the last time he cleaned the carpets, he gave us a bottle of spot cleaner (his own) and showed us how to use it in the event we just need to spot clean something before we needed a full cleaning again.
I read a review that he is difficult to get a hold of (from a couple of years ago). I just called him and he answered the phone after the second ring. He will be cleaning my carpets later this week as a matter of fact, even though he typically only cleans carpets on the weekends now. I have company coming in to town this weekend, last minute, and he is adjusting his schedule in order to help me out. I'm happy to give Tim a great review. He has always done right by my husband and myself and his prices have always been fair and negotiable. Thank you Tim.
The original estimate did not include a number of costs. Such as moving furniture, we added an additional room and was overcharged on square footage. There was also extra cost for installation of the stairs because due to the home builder's short cut in installing the stairs, Peaceful Flooring had to hire another contractor to perform that part of the job. Instead of adjusting the contracted price to the amount charged by the sub-contractor, the owner chose to overcharge us because he had promised the installer to be paid a certain amount for doing the stairs. The additional amount was excessive and way above the actual cost in the contract.
Punctuality was a daily discussion. They typically started their day between 9:00 and 10:00. This was an issue because we were frequently late for work during the course of the job waiting for the crew to get to the job site. In the middle of the job, the company took another job and we were then informed that in order to get the work they were doing in our home guaranteed, we had to allow them to let the floors sit for 4 to 5 days in order for the floors to settle, even though the wood was in the house for over a week acclimating to the humidity in the house. So the job that was estimated to take a week, now stretch out beyond 2 weeks. We were consistently having conversations with the owner about professionalism, honesty and inflated costs. In the end, we paid them pretty much what they asked for because they damaged the floors when moving the furniture back into the rooms and we needed them to fix it. If we had it to do over again, we would not have hired this company.
