Alex at Hi Tech recently inspected our home for our 10-month builder's warranty. He found a number of significant items that another home inspector had missed several months earlier. Alex's apparent expertise with the HVAC system and the dormers' structural load was especially valuable to us. Alex was patient answering our questions and explained his analysis to us in layman's terms while he was here. His written report included numerous helpful photos.

We found Alex through Angie’s list, and are really glad we hired him to inspect the exterior of our house. After having our roof re-shingled and new gutters installed, we needed an expert to review the work. We also plan additional work to update the house, and know that having an inspection will help us proceed in an informed and logical way. Alex came out the day after we contacted him. He spent over two hours inspecting the roof, gutters, brick, siding, chimney, everything to do with drainage, and more. Alex is knowledgeable and professional. His trained eyes spotted drainage concerns, best remedied sooner rather than later. Above and beyond that, Alex was the soul of patience. He explained, answered questions, and good-naturedly educated us. (That's worth a bucket of review stars!) The day after the inspection we received an 11-page report documenting everything we had discussed. The report is clear, detailed and easy to read. Because of the exterior inspection, we'll be better informed as we move forward, and we'll be able to proceed in a logical, cost-effective way. We’ll address drainage concerns before rebuilding the deck, and we’ll know that we need only to repair, not replace, damaged siding, for example. We expect the information and education will provide cost savings many times over the cost of the inspection, and we’ll be more knowledgeable in hiring contractors. We’ll definitely hire Alex again, both before and after major projects.

Alex took the time to let us know via email that a gutter company should be able to make the fix and prevent future settling problems. His inspection helped us get the crack in the storage room fixed prior to the closing. As a result , we are not seeing the seasonal ant problem which some of the other units experience regularly. Thank you for your continued helpfulness, insight and the savings. We have great faith that your inspection services the the best in town in our opinion.

Stucco inspection and much more. I hired Alex to inspect stucco before painting the house. He taught me a lot about stucco and caulking but also pointed out potential and real problems he saw with air conditioning, rotten door jam and need for caulking around openings. He answered all questions. I'm following up on issues he identified. I would readily hire him for a home inspection when I'm ready to buy.

I engaged Alex for a general overview consultation. He is extremely knowledgable and took the time to explain answers to each of my questions. I would highly recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

We hired Alex to complete a home inspection on a house we were under contract for. Alex is an extremely qualified and capable home inspector. He inspected an newly construction home for us and was able to point out the good and the not so good. He was able to explain the reasons for his evaluation. He knows the various codes beyond just the local county codes. He could explain which deficiencies I should be really concerned about and those that are deficient but are not likely to cause problems. I was impressed with his knowledge and his methodical approach to the job. Without a doubt I would definitely hire him again.

Alex was beyond thorough. He was extremely knowledgable and absolutely looked out for our interest. He identified multiple issues including but not limited to a polbutalyene pipe at the main. Thanks to Alex he saved us thousands in repair fees. Between electrical and plumbing that need to be performed, he was able to identify everything that was faulty. Alex is extremely professional. Immediately entering they house, Alex started identifying the mold. He has great experience and knowledge about the area. He is very responsive via text. He also educated me on house issues so that when I can quickly identify some obvious issues next time I check a property. I immediately decided to walk away from the property which has mold. With Alex being my inspector, I could really make informed decision.

Alex was exceptional from start to finish. He was on time and showed up despite being ill which I really appreciated since I was on a tight time crunch on my due diligence period. He was very thorough - checked every window and outlet in addition to all the big items that one would expect from an inspection. I am a first time home buyer and have limited knowledge about maintenance. I selected Alex based on reviews that he welcomes client to accompany him during the inspection. He explained everything that he was checking which gave me a clear understanding on what I needed to look out for and forward maintenance to consider should I purchase the home. Alex spent half the day on the inspection and made himself available via emails afterwards to answer my questions. I asked multiple follow-up questions after my response and he was very responsive. Note that you will be able to find lower prices with other home inspectors, but I would be very surprised that anyone is more thorough and likely much less than Alex. You get what you pay for. Just consider the cost relative to the value of your home investment. Alex takes pride in what he does and is really good at it which is very rare and refreshing these days.

From the moment I contacted Alex he was EXTREMELY responsive and already willing to answer any questions I had before deciding to hire him. I know a decent amount about construction in homes and loved that he wanted us present. He is very professional, thorough, and has a great sense of humor which made the experience that much more enjoyable! I also have to mention this, as a woman, I usually have most men try to make me feel like I don’t know anything. Alex was the exact opposite, he was humble and if I did know something in detail with what we were looking at, he would say he was impressed with my knowledge and then offer up more information that maybe I wasn’t aware of without making me feel degraded. I think that says a lot about his character! He is more expensive than most but also has certifications some do not. The knowledge I obtained while being by his side during the inspection was PRICELESS! We didn’t buy the home because Alex found a lot of things that would have cost us ten of thousands of dollars that the seller wouldn’t help pay for. I would most certainly use Alex again.

Inspector is extremely competint, knowledgeable in regards to home construction and inspection of existing homes. Inspector will share his opinions as how to fix inspected property faults. I find this most helpful when dealing with seller. Inspector will advise if inspected home has issues that will be very expensive to fix. This was the case in the first home inspected for me as there were serious water issues and I decided to pass on this property. I would strongly recommend Hi Tech inspection services.

Alex was very responsive and easy to work with when lining up a home inspection on a house I'm looking to purchase. He provided good information about what the inspection would include and encouraged me to attend the inspection. He was very professional and extremely thorough while conducting the inspection. He took time to explain what he was testing and why. His report following the inspection was very detailed, easy to understand, and included pictures pointing out each area of concern. He also provided links to several sites that provided additional information and explanation about the issues that were found. He was great to work with and I would definitely use him again on any future inspections.

Alex Rosenthal was a pleasure to work with. He invited me to join him during the new home inspection, which I did. Alex was very thorough inspecting the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, attic/trusses, the exterior, the roof, and the overall craftsmanship. He did this with an eye towards compliance with current industry codes and regulations. Extraordinarily high quality. Alex inspected a home my son is buying. Both my son and I attended the full inspection. I have been involved in real estate for 30 years and have attended countless home inspections for business in addition to the ones for our personal homes. My son has never experienced a home inspection. So Alex not only had to complete a challenging inspection (including a very difficult crawl space with minimal access) but had to do so while explaining his findings and impressions in detail to both a novice and an experienced person. His thoroughness, professionalism and communication was quite remarkable. His breadth of knowledge combined with his willingness to work and inspect every corner and system of the house left us both amazed and very appreciative. We are both confident that we have outstanding understanding of the entire home and are in exactly the position we were hoping for in terms of making informed decisions on the house going forward. I contacted four different inspectors, talking to each of them about a quote, availability and scope. After speaking with Alex, I decided to go with him for two important reasons. A) He was incredibly responsive via text, out of all the inspectors, he was the only one that got back to me asap; and B) He was the only one out of the ones I contacted that actively encouraged me to be present during the whole inspection. In my opinion, that means a lot. It shows a confidence in his work, a care for his customer and their potential future home and an honesty in his practice. And after going through the whole inspection process with Alex, I can say that all three of those qualities are absolutely true. Alex took incredible care and precision to point out and inform me of all the areas of the house that I should look out for. Even if it’s not going on the report, you get tons of additional information that WILL end up saving you thousands of dollars in the long run. Also incredibly impressive was his dedication to his work. I had called and confirmed with the listing agent that electricity was on. When we arrive the day of the inspection, there was no power. Some information got confused and the power wouldn’t be on until later that week. Despite that, Alex still went through a partial inspection in great detail and returned at a later date to complete the inspection. In both sessions, Alex took a huge amount of time and effort to thoroughly comb through the home. Beyond his work ethic and pride in his craft, Alex is an incredible conversationalist. A great guy who will inform you about your house and keep you entertained while doing it. I can’t recommend him enough.

Alex, was prompt and courteous. He helped document both code violations as well as other items i wanted to document as a separate punch list to bring to attention of builder. Alex took time to educate me as he was inspecting and gave great advice for which i'll use going forward. He spent a good amount of time identifying code references for any item that needed to be addressed.

4.5h thorough investigation of the 120 year old house and with his help and report we were able to understand and prepare for the TLC needed to maintain the house.

As a first time home buyer I am very cautious about EVERYTHING. Alex truly put me at ease from our first conversation. His general knowledge and expertise made me feel very comfortable. Due to a shortened due diligence period I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to use him however he was kind enough to fit us in th schedule, on a holiday weekend none the less. The inspection took 4 1/2 hours, so to say he is thorough is an understatement. He left no stone unturned... literally! Lol. Even with the long inspection day he still had the report to me in about 24 hours. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, takes their time, and thorough then Alex is your guy. I would hire him over and over again!

Everyone has heard inspection stories where properties pass with flying colors then after the purchase expensive repairs are found that should have been discovered. I have a friend this recently happened to. Doing a telephone interview with the inspector before scheduling was imperative for me, as well as being present during the inspection. I began calling companies. Not only could I not speak to the inspector to interview, one did not want me present and told me not to arrive until 90 minutes after, at which time I would be given a review of findings. I decided to go to Angies list (first time here) where I found Alex, and read the reviews. I contacted him and he responded immediately. He spoke with me on the telephone, explained the process to me, took time to answer all of my questions in detail, putting me at ease. He sent texts to me confirming he was on his way and arrived promptly at our assigned appointment time. I wanted to be present to observe, but also to be "out of his way and not underfoot" But, Alex called me over during every phase of his work to show me what he was doing, what he found, explaining in terms I could understand, and the significance (minor versus major problem) He even went on the roof of the highrise to inspect the AC. He looked at everything, each little "nook and cranny". I received a very detailed report with accompanying photos the following morning. Unfortunately, or should I say fortunately, he uncovered major issues including significant amount of "suspected mold" within the HVAC. I am in the process of negotiating the repairs with the seller. Should I have to move on to another property, I will use Alex.

Nice guy, very knowledgeable. Don't book if you're looking for a quick inspection- Alex will take his time to make sure he catches everything! If you also want some great advice on protecting yourself from mold and allergens, then you'll love Alex. The thing I love best about Alex is that he will basically give you a detailed list of some practical home improvements you can work on as own your new home.
