I was a customer for about a year. Referred to them by the company that did my sod install (the sod company no longer refers to environmental turf). On at least one occasion, the person left a bill hanging on my front door knob, but did not perform any service (I only know this because the gate to backyard was locked and I was actually at home and watched him just walk up and leave bill). I called to get more information and was told different stories by the office staff and owner. The office staff members are probably the most unprofessional, unpleasant, and hateful people I've ever had to deal with. Out of frustration with one of the employees unwillingness to help and her horrible attitude, I ended up calling her a not so nice name, which was a mistake on my part. When the owner called, I could tell when I answered my phone and heard his tone that he was going to be a difficult. He was incredibly condescending, screamed at me, told me I needed to treat the staff member I cursed at like a lady, and kept saying ignorant phrases like "now listen here son." The story he created was that they would have called eventually to reschedule the backyard service. He really played up the fact that they treated my front yard though. Just a little background....I have about 1600 sqft of turf in backyard. The front yard is all mulch and maybe a 5' x 5' (25 sqft) patch of dead grass. They were hired for the backyard since I had the new sod back there, but said they would treat the tiny patch of grass in front yard too because it wouldn't increase price. With that said, treating the front yard is not what I was paying for, so that was a moot point. I had been late on my previous payment prior to the visit in question (out of sheer forgetfulness), so when I paid that late bill, I also prepaid for the next treatment (the one they didn't perform, but still billed me for as if they had done the service). I simply asked the owner to refund me the money for the service they didn't perform that I had already paid for. He irately told me no. I asked for documentation from all previous visits in order to determine how many times they had skipped my lawn treatment but still charged me. He refused. I filed a dispute through AMEX. Since I had made the late payment and prepayment in one transaction with my Amex, the disputes covered more than just the amount I was questioning. He was unable to provide them with any proof that services were delivered so they credited my account. And the icing on the cake....the owner had the office staff bill me for the disputed amount and then turned my account over to a collection agency. I called the office staff back - she said she was not allowed to speak with me, would not let me speak with anyone else, and told me they weren't giving me any documentation for any of the services ever provided to me. I told her I felt like my hands were tied and asked her how she thought I should proceed. She hung up. I've been using arbornomics ever since and my grass actually looks incredible and the employees are super nice. Avoid this company, unless you want weeds in your yard and to be verbally abused by the owner.
