When I called this company for service, we played phone tag for several weeks, but it was all very understandable. I caused half or more of the phone tag, so there were no problems with that. Finally when the day came that Mr. Headliner Doctor was to do the service, it went well except when he brings me out to look at his work. The new headliner had 2 black marks on it. When I inquired about these black marks, was told that a little degreaser would take them out very easily. The black marks supposedly came from the way the headliner was stored or shipped or something like that. When I asked if he could get the black marks out instead of me, he said he didn't have his solution in the truck today, that if I couldn't do it, then he would come back. That's when he told me he supports his product and service with a 5 year warranty. I said ok and paid him $150 cash at that moment. After that, I have not been able to get this guy on the phone again or email or text or anything. It's like he dropped off the face of the planet. His truck even has a full screen advertising all wrapped around it so it all looked very professional and legit. He even tells me his "company" of which he is the owner, has just landed a new contract with US Auto Sales in the Duluth area to leave two guys there full time to replace headliners for this used car dealer. What an awful mess.
Description of Work: The Headliner Doctor put a product up on my truck's roof that was marked with two black marks, one in the front and one in the back. After about two weeks of no returned phone calls, The Headliner Doctor's work started to sag in the back. He told me all I had to do to remove the black marks was some degreaser and a rag. Really?!?! My old headliner didn't have black marks on it! Then the doctor tells me his company is closing because he can't get any material to do headliners anymore. That he is sorry. Then when I asked him to uphold his five year warranty, I never heard from him again. I have been extremely courteous and understanding to include patient with his lack of service and no answered voicemails and texts to the point of agreeing to repay for the service if he will just come fix my headliner. Nothing. None of my calls were returned. At one point he even said he had phone and voicemail problems. Ok, so since he may be having voicemail problems or phone problems, I called him 60 times. Then I finally got a response. The doctor tells me that I didn't buy the headliner with the warranty, that I chose the one without the warranty. Of course I don't have it in writing, but what kind of person, I mean how dishonest a person do you have to be in this economy to take someone's money for a service like this, money that people don't have, but spend it anyway, and only warranty your product if someone pays more. Isn't it the same quality of installation? But none of that is reality. I just returned from Afghanistan. The guy told me as I began to question the black marks, If I couldn't get them out with degreaser, that he would come back another day and get it out or replace the entire thing with his 5 year warranty. Then has the audacity to tell me I didn't purchase that option. All I ever wanted was a nicer headliner than I had sagging and clean. Well this doctor chose to ignore his customer, me, when I was overly patient and kind. Well now, it's on. Bad service gets talked about 7 times more than good service.
