My husband had used this company previously, the year before, and had the operator give him an estimate in summer, 2009 for a summer, 2010 move from this same house. At that time the estimate was $5000.00. When it got time to move, the other estimates I was getting were between $6500 -$11,000, so I asked for another estimate. I was told over the phone that this would not exceed $6500. 3 men arrived to pack us up 3 weeks prior to our move. At that time my husband was given a verbal estimate of $7500; the day they finished the inital packing I was presented with a contract noting "not to exceed $9200.00" and was told that my husband was aware of this. He was not. A $4000.00 deposit was requested which we sent. We moved 6/30/10. A week later I received a phone call from the mover that he wanted to move the goods from Atlanta to Cleveland; at that time I told him we were renting a house and would be ready for our goods on Sunday, June 11, and he agreed. They did not show up for delivery until Tuesday, June 13, and he only had 2/3 of our items. The balance came on Thursday, June 15. They did not unpack the boxes as was specified in the contract. A majority of the boxes were collapsed and the items were not properly wrapped. An antique stool is missing a leg. Several expensive pictures were broken. There was several thousand dollars worth of damage to my goods. All attempts to reach the moving company have failed; phone messages are not returned and when I called the operator from a phone number he did not have, he hung up on me once he heard my name. I have since found out that this moving company is not licensed or incorporated in Georgia. From the time our items were in their hands until delivery, I received a number of calls from the operator that he needed additional money to complete the move (he had to pay for gas, he had to pay his employees, etc.) and fearing for the security of my belongings, I went ahead and wired the money.
