Willie and his team were very thorough and professional. We started with Willie providing a very comprehensive review of the area and recommended steps. The completed work was on a bathroom area that had a slow leak behind a cabinet, which required extensive demo and cleaning. They worked with us on scheduling to get the work done quickly. When finished, the area looked completely cleaned and ready for us to replace the affected areas.

I called them to get a second opinion about what we believe was a mold problem. He came in and did a much more thoroughly then the original company. He informed me that the problem was not as large as the original company had suggested. He told that my issue could be easily fixed by a handyman as a much smaller cost. He was timely, professional and very nice to speak and work with.

I was pressured for time because my friends needed to move into my basement in 2-3 weeks. I didn't have time to get several estimates so I called Flood-X because of their great reviews on Angie's List. Willie came out to give me an estimate the next day. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave me options to choose from. It was obvious I needed remediation and not just an air quality test because mold was visible on the basement's contents. Even though their schedule was tight, he bent over backward to start my job immediately so I would have time to remodel the finished side in time for my friends to move in. Willie headed the crew and showed up on time. They were all very personable and presentable. He explained every step of the remediation in detail They moved all the contents of my basement up to my garage in July/August heat and humidity. In spite of this, the crew was very good-humored and worked at a good pace. They worked an extra day at no additional charge to make sure the space would pass the air quality test. It passed the first time and the remodeling phase of the project was started on time. Two weeks later, after sheetrock repair, HVAC upgrades, ceiling tile and floor installation and fresh paint throughout, my friends were able to move in. It was a very tight schedule that could not have been kept without Flood-X's great crew headed by Willie. They genuinely cared about my situation and my friends needing a place to live. Flood-X went above and beyond - not just to do a quality job - but to facilitate a miracle for my friends and their children. Thanks again!

Flood-X placed their equipment in service on 01/02/2015. Flood-X personnel immediately proposed demolition of the hardwoods in the entire master bedroom, bath and closet. Though the damage was extensive and the water had been soaking into the hardwoods for several days, we wanted to give our best efforts towards saving the rare hardwoods by installing additional drying mats in the master bedroom area and 'tenting' the area underneath to provide stabilization of the humidity levels above and below the damaged floors. After several conversations with Jason regarding saving the existing hardwoods (through the installation of additional drying mats, fans, dehumidifiers, etc,) Jason expressed his concerns with the time frame the floors had been exposed to the unmitigated water exposure as well as the source of the water (the leak started from the tank of the toilet in the master bath, hence "grey water"). Given his concern of mold propagation, grey water and future health concerns, Jason chose to remove his equipment from the premises and exit the job as his concerns outweighed the potential monetary gain of continuing with the mitigation process. Though this turn of events may sound contentious or negative, it is important to point out the Jason was NOT at ANY TIME argumentative or petulant. His knowledge, concern and professionalism were aimed at the right thing: ability to salvage existing floors vs potential future health risks. It was our desire to attempt to save the floors that prompted Jason to make the decision he did not want to make. Jason stated this was the first time he has ever left a job site without the job being completed. It was plainly obvious that this decision weighed heavily upon him. After meeting with several hardwood flooring, mold/moisture mitigation and restoration companies, not only have the floors had to be removed, but also the natural stone and cement backing boards, baseboards, sheet-rock (up to 36" from the floor), electrical wiring inside the walls, insulation, etc. IT IS IMPORTANT to point out that Jason's personal integrity, morals and concerns with doing the right thing for the safety of the homeowner outweighed a large monetary gain. This is a distinction and honor that few companies can claim. BOTTOM LINE: Jason and his company made the correct call from the beginning. If you have a flood in your home and need a professional, courteous, prompt and TRUSTWORTHY company - call Jason, he put you on the right path quickly.
Description of Work: When returning home after a multiple day excursion, we found that a water leak (from the master bathroom) had caused considerable damage throughout the master bedroom, bath and closet areas. Jason's guys were out the very next morning and immediately began the water mitigation process through installation of fans, dehumidifiers and drying mats.

That is, with out a doubt, the most complimentary statement regarding how I operate my business. I want to thank you personally for taking the time to go into such detail in explaining the service and reasons why we could not finalize the drying. This could have easily been written as a negative review but you understood my decision to forfeit further monetary gain from doing what I believed was sub standard. My husband and I were very pleased with the work, work ethic and professionalism of all the Flood-X employees. They came out to give an estimate the day after I first contacted them and within 4 days started the work. Willie came to give the estimate and took his time to walk me through the basement and describe the process of mold remediation and each step involved. Willie was an excellent representative for Flood-X and his knowledge and thoroughness regarding the clean-up process helped my husband and I to understand the cause of the problem and remedy future problems. Joe and his crew performed the work efficiently and with great professionalism as well. Joe took pictures of the demo work throughout the process to touch base about what was happening and explain what they were encountering as the demo continued. Everyone on the crew was polite, knowledgeable and took what ever time needed to answer our questions before during and after the project. My husband and I will recommend Flood-X in the future! Thanks again to Willie, Joe, and the crew for making a frustrating problem as smooth and easy a fix as possible!

During recent heavy rains, water seeped in along a wall in our finished basement. We contacted Jason at Flood-X through the Angie's List messaging service at 8 pm. I was impressed that we received a message within 1 hour of contacting him. As arranged, a team arrived the following afternoon and checked for wetness all along the wall. They were prepared to explain remediation options: how to take care of the problem ourselves, and how they could take care of it for us. What they proposed made sense. They were courteous and knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. When I decided to have Flood-X do the work, they took care of it on the spot, cleaned up after themselves, and charged a much more reasonable fee than another vendor that we had previously contacted for an estimate. I am more than satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Flood-X.

This company is very prompt, courteous, and honest. When I first discovered mold in my basement, I contacted Flood X and they were willing to come within an hour of when I called. On arrival and examination of my basement, it was very clear that they are knowledgable and thus, provide you with appropriate information to make decisions on remediation plans. As far as quality of work, they lived up to the bill and the air quality in our basement has been restored. Just an aside is that they company mailed me lottery tickets with potential winnings up to $2000(maybe more??). It was a nice gesture to potentially help fund the project but unfortunately, none of the tickets were winners. Overall, I would recommend this company to anyone as they are priced fairly, their quality of work is excellent, and the company itself prides itself in its integrity

.I had a water leak in my pantry. My husband and I removed the drywall and cleaned the wood underneath-however there was still a musty smell-I called Flood X to come out and find the source. They did just that! Willy checked all the walls and floor around the pantry for moisture and sure enough there was one place where the drywall was still wet. He told us exactly how much drywall to remove and since it was such a small area he felt sure there was no mold issue-sure enough when we removed the drywall there was none. We cleaned the wood and let it dry. We are now ready to put the pantry back together again with the knowledge, thanks to Willy, that there is no mold lurking. Thanks FloodX!

Well, however the billing seemed a bit high. It was an insurance job. Possible price hiking may have occurred. I have cameras inside & out of my home. I know when they entered & when they left. The alarm also logs & time stamps door opening events. The itemized invoice stated "1.5hr" of time at each visit. I'm confident this was not the case for each visit.

Thank you for review of my services. We use Xactimate price guide which all insurance carriers prefer us to use as it Is line item and there approved prices. It's impossible for me to hike up the prices. The adjusters review and re measure very square foot of carpet, pad, baseboard we remove or clean. I keep a very good reputation with all insurance carriers by not attempting any sort of mis representation of services. The 1.5 hours is a minimum charge which is for on site and drive to your property. Insurance companies understand we pay labour all day, even when on route to homes, so they will allow us 1.5 hrs labour (No gas or vehicle mileage). I hope this explains the discrepancy. I appreciate your business and hope you will consider my services if you require them again. Jason

I decided to contact another company that would provide me with a quote after reviewing the problem.
Description of Work: I contacted the Floodx to get a quote on what it would cost to fix flood damage to my home. They were very professional on the phone but advised me that they don't do free estimates. That was a deal breaker. He also mentioned that they typically deal with insurance companies. The cost just to come out and do an estimate was about $200.

I think we have a misunderstanding; I send emergency trucks out for immediate service $250 which includes a 2 man crew and we will do up to that amount in services ( regular business hours). Also we will give you an estimate at that time for any additional work if required. You are correct we charge for scheduled estimates/inspections for mold/water damage are $75 but there's a $25 discount for Angieslist customers. I probably didn't explain this well when we spoke on the phone. Estimates take approximately 2 hrs labor and vehicle usage, gas ect. this expense is not one we wish to build in to our prices so we charge for this service. I do empathize with customers who don't have insured losses as most are covered by home owners insurance and have to pay for unexpected flood damage. After reviewing our conversation I can see I did a bad job of explaining these charges. Jason

There were pro's and con's to this service. On the positive side, in an emergent situation, they were here within a few hours, and sufficiently removed the collected water and dried out the crawl space. I thought the guys they sent were helpful, professional and courteous. My issues really come down to cost as I think they take advantage too much of the crisis situation their customers are in. There was a $250 fee for showing up, plus a rental fee for the blowers (to dry out the crawl space) that I thought was too high. ($35 / day x 4 blowers x 4 days). The actual cost to remove the water was reasonable (only ~$300), and all the rest of the cost came in the form of fees / rentals. While cleanup was included in these fees, it was simply sweeping up any loose debris and did not include scrubbing / deep cleaning of the space which I thought should have been included to finish the job. So why a "C" grade: In summary, they removed the water, and got here quickly, and the workers were nice. What more can you want in that kind of situation? This was offset by excessive prices despite the services being performed falling short of "full service" For what its worth they did disclose this pricing up front, so my thoughts are more related to the reflection after the service of what was accomplished for $900 which I believe fell short of the mark.

Thank you for writing this review it will help me better serve future customers. First of all I am glad my crew was courteous and professional, they have been working 12-16 hrs shifts 7 days a week this month due to extreme freeze/pipe breaks. Good to hear they are still acting as professionals even when working in crawlspaces in sub zero weather. Also I am glad to see you were given an up front price for the work we did. I see your issue is with the amount of service you got for your money and what you paid so I would like to break it down to better explain the costs and charges which follow. We charge $250 as a minimum service charge not just to come to your home once but to send a 2 man crew out to your home over the weekend and on 2 separate occasions returning to check on the progrees. As Im sure your aware FloodX must pay our employees hourly to go back and forth to your property, set up equipment and remove equipment. Also fuel costs, garbage bags, gloves ect. This cost includes labour hours and miscellaneous things such as garbage disposal of the desk and table we removed in your crawlspace and took to Doraville Transfer Station to dispose of. Glad to see you felt $300 was reasonable to remove the water. Saturday we extracted the water for 4 hours using a truck mount system there was still a foot and half left in there so we left the pump to run over night and I sent Brandon back Sunday to make sure the pumps had got all the remaining water. You really had a good bit in there. Now as far as the drying blowers go we charged $30 per day not $35 ( I'm sure was an honest mistake) and that price comes from a national price guide (Xactimate) set for restoration companies across the nation. This came to $270 for equipment rental. Price is not increased when heavy weather or extreme flooding occurs. Actually they may lower the price during extreme situations as the equipment is more in use and therefore more profitable. So if you check at your local Home Depot rental or Lowes you will see there always with in a couple of bucks of our prices to rent also they don't deliver or return when you are done with them. Your total invoice was $895 and did not include scrubbing the crawl space, I spoke with Brandon and he did sweep up the dirt that had washed from the ground and picked it up. Usually we don't clean a crawl space floor but will be glad to give you a fair price to do so. Hopefully you can see with the amount of hours and travel to your home I have explained better the costs of your service. Sincerely Jason Renwick

It worked out great. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Flood-X sometime earlier this year. They came in to do mold removal and certification of mold removal. There was visible black mold that I found in my bathroom when I was removing some wallpaper so they came in, they checked that area, they check the rest of the house to make sure it hadn't spread and fortunately had not, it was just in a small amount of the wall in that bathroom so they basically came in and cut it out including cutting out six inches extra of drywall beyond any of the last part of the mold they found.

We made an appointment for mold remediation at 10 am on a Wed. The company called me at 9 am the DAY OF the appointment to "confirm." I called back at 9:30 to confirm our 10 am appointment. The company told me that they were no longer able to come at 10 am for our appointment. I took time off of work to meet these people at 10 am - they could have cared less. Your statement is partially accurate. We set an appointment for you at 10 am and did call at 9am and left you a message. We ALWAYS confirm someone will be home the day we drive to your home ( a very common practice with service companies as people can forget they made an appointment or run late causing us to be late to our next appointment.). I also called at again at 9:30 am with no response, the schedule was then adjusted. When you called me at 9:40 am I had already rescheduled my morning and offered to come out later to which you denied.

These guys were fantastic, and I would absolutely use them again. After I discovered what I thought was a small leak in the kitchen, we had a plumber determine that our dishwasher drain line had been slowly leaking for some time. The line ran behind the kitchen wall, so we couldn't see the leak. Additionally, our 1960s cabinets had a particle-board base, which had been absorbing the water, and--because we had a drawer system over the base--we couldn't tell that the cabinets were wet. The water that did drip into the basement was landing under my husband's workbench, so I couldn't see that either. When I finally discovered the water, I found it in the worst of places: It was coming down right next to the breaker box, and some of the water was even following along an electrical line before dripping to the floor. The plumber recommended a water remediation company to us, but when I checked Angie's List, the company had a number of bad reviews. I chose Flood-X instead, after reading all the good reviews on Angie's List, and I was not disappointed. When Joe and Chris first showed up, they were extremely courteous. Before starting all the "messy" work, they sealed off the kitchen with thick plastic sheeting, and they did their best to keep the area as neat as possible. It took most of the day for them to remove all the water-damaged cabinets, flooring (ceramic tile), etc., and they were very gracious about putting up with my 3 dogs, especially my golden retriever/chow mix who tried his best to assist them. :-) Over the course of the next week, Flood-X showed up every day to check on moisture levels, and everyone who came was incredibly polite, professional, and courteous. Also, everyone was wonderful with my dogs (in addition to the retriever/chow, we have a pug/ beagle mix who loves to bark and a lab/greyhound mix who loves to sniff anyone who comes through the door). We had another kitchen leak about 5 years prior, and while the remediation company we used then was good, Flood-X was better. I was extremely pleased with their workmanship, neatness, and professionalism and would hands-down recommend them.

The group responded with water mitigation equipment within 2 hours and instructed me regarding what to do until they arrived. This water damage was covered by my insurance company. My insurance group had their own team but their water mitigation team was not responsive and could not get to my home until the following week. Well, I was fully aware that in cases of water damage, the sooner you clean up and dry out floors/walls then the less of a likelihood of having mold. Their price was very reasonable given the extent of the damage. This team was just excellent. I had no qualms about having these professionals come into my home. Three different team members came to my home and every single one was respectful and thorough. Would call them again if I ever had another problem of this nature. True professionals!
Description of Work: Had a sink overflow on the ground floor of my home which caused a flood into the family room, kitchen, foyer, and garage. FloodX came in and implemented water mitigation services for the ground floor.

After my roofing company left my roof off in the rain I had to find someone quick to mitigate the water damage, My technician Willy, quickly arrived and assessed the damage. He fully informed me of what was going on and what they planned to do to dry out my home. They didn't do any excess procedures, and fully informed me of everything he was doing and why he was doing it. Two days later he came back and did another full inspection on my home to make sure that everything was dry, then did a thorough clean up, and to top it off the cost was less than initially thought. I can't recommend them enough, if you have any kind of water damage needs this is the company I recommend.

On May 18 we had 5 inches of rain in 4 hours, and my finished basement flooded for the first time in 20 years. Josh the estimator showed up an hour before he said he could - very welcome to have that happen! Did the estimate on the spot, provided a written estimate and told me they could start that day. The basement was wet and starting to smell bad, so that was also welcome news. I accepted the offer, and the crew was on site in 2 hours. They moved the furniture as needed, removed the old floor, removed exactly 11 1/2 inches of wet drywall around the floor and disposed of everything. They brought in the dehumidifier and fans the next morning and retried them on time, as promised on Friday 6/24. They also helped me move a heavy bookcase back into place In the course of the floor removal they damaged a piece of furniture. They owned up to it, took it along with them and returned it, repaired, 2 weeks later. Awesome service. Jason the owner was on site twice. His crew was great. I hope I never meet them professionally again but would recommend them without reservation.
