Description of Work: Number of major and "minor" repairs to a 1970's ranch home, including: replacement of termite and water damaged wood, extended a sheet rock wall, trimmed out bathroom closet, hung interior and exterior doors, painted exterior of house (removing storm windows/door, painted windows, reattached storm windows/door after I cleaned them), built new porch railings, pressure washed exterior of house including driveway, re-attached HVAC unit, lifted and secured sinking iron bathtub, set and framed glass blocks for bathroom window, re-attached dishwasher to drain into sink connection, fixed ice-maker line, replaced old light fixture, removed (so I could paint them) and re-attached shutters, added crown molding to kitchen cabinets, refaced kitchen cabinets where there was damage, sealed all ports of entry for rats, etc., general advice for things I planned on doing myself, and on top of it all: Worked clean, removed trash accumulated from demo/reconstruction including an old mattress. Excellent!

Description of Work: We called Brent to fix two ceiling leaks; one in the bedroom and one in the dining room. He went up into the attic and on the roof and checked everything over very thoroughly. He noticed that the vent boots on the roof were cracked. He sealed all of those and at the same time he checked the roof shingles for wear. While he was on the roof he cleaned off all the pine straw that had accumulated. When he was in the attic he noticed a water pipe that was installed improperly. He strapped that for us until we can get it repaired. We also had him fix two door locks that were out of alignment and a couple of other small repairs. In addition he gave us some expert advice on how soon we need a new roof and who to call, managing water drainage near the house and how soon we need to get the outside of the house painted. We were so impressed we already made another appointment to have him come back to fix the water pipe in the attic, pressure wash the house and replace a couple of warped boards.

Description of Work: I had a leak in the shower of an upstairs condo. I've had several people look at it but no one seemed to fix it as I've had to repair the ceiling in the condo below several times. Brent took the time to diagnose the problem and replace worn out parts in the valves. Others just re-caulked which never seemed to work. The leak seems to have stopped but only time will tell if this actually cured the problem because it leaks into the wall and is not visible. Still I feel much better about Brent's repair than others.

Description of Work: We had the exterior of entire house and deck pressure-washed and painted. Rotten wood areas were replaced on the house as well as on the deck. The second floor porch railing was also rebuilt.

Description of Work: Replace hot water and some front door work to repair damage to frame.

Description of Work: This contractor wired some lights in our basement, and also ensured that all the switches and outlets worked in each room by wiring those that needed repair. They then checked the circuit breaker box and tested all the electricity in the finished basement. They then installed some drywall to partition off two rooms. This took them about 2 days and all used material was thrown away by them when they left.

Description of Work: They repaired termite damage.

Description of Work: I had a cathredal ceiling that had become disjointed and needed to be resealed. There was also peripheral work to be sealed. The ceiling and room was also painted.

Description of Work: Brent completed the first phase of finishing our basement. This phase consisted of all electrical (outlets and light switches), hanging drywall, adding duct work, installing multiple ceiling fans, installing 2 windows where none existed, installing ceiling tiles, doors, building closets and painting.

Description of Work: Repaired broken exterior water pipe and faucet, installed motion detector lights over garage and back door, repaired leaky shower faucet, replaced bathroom vanity top, built 6 foot landscape wall out of retainer wall blocks.

Description of Work: No work has been performed. He said he had approx. 6 months of work I ask to be put on the end of his list in Jan. So I am looking to hear from him soon.

Description of Work: I had squirrels. Brent came and caught them, patched up the attic and cut the tree limbs down to help prevent further destruction involving the squirrels.

Description of Work: They built a brand new pressure treated pine 10 foot by 16 foot deck for me. They took two full days to complete and discarded all used material and garbage themselves.

Description of Work: Brent painted our free standing 2-story garage. He also trimmed a tree limb that was too high fo me to do. The garage needed lots of caulking to cover the many nail heads made by the careless contractor.

Description of Work: Siding had to be replace and places on the exterior had to be repaired. The exterior was painted.

Description of Work: Installed new light fixtures, fixed ceiling fan, replaced sinks and faucets in 3 bathrooms, hooked up ice maker on frige, fixed running toilet, light carpentry project.

Description of Work: Brent took out old exhaust fan in ceiling and covered with dry wall, painted our crown molding and ceiling. He took out old track lighting in kitchen and put in 4 canned lights. He put in a grounded outlet in our crawl space.

Description of Work: Brent and his "team" installed and hooked up our new appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, gas stove, and over-the-range microwave oven.) With the microwave, he had to put in an electrical outlet since our previous microwave was not above the range. He also took out and hauled away our old stove and dishwasher.

Description of Work: Brent patched two holes in the roof, added a kick plate to a full-size crawlspace door, replaced latticework on our back deck, painted the chimney, pressure-washed and water-sealed the deck, repaired drywall termite damage in garage, repaired a garage-door hinge, repaired a security light, and repaired a front porch ceiling board.

Description of Work: Brent and a helper did numerous small jobs around my house. They installed three ceiling fans, hung mirrors and pictures, fixed a toilet, adjusted the height of chandeliers, hooked up the ice maker for my refrigerator and even moved a dining room set from a relatives house to mine!

Description of Work: Brent McCurdy was referred to me by a friend who had used him for work on her house. Brent was very friendly and easy to work with. The quote he gave to finish my basement was significantly less than other quotes. Once hired he stayed on schedule and on budget and completed the job to our complete satisfaction. Since then I have hired Brent to do many other handyman projects around the house and have referred him to many friends, who have all been pleased.

Description of Work: Remedied electrical issues in breaker box; replaced three light fixtures (interior and exterior); located problem in our gas fireplace unit and repaired it; replaced attic exhaust fan; resealed roof around chimney to stop leak.

Description of Work: Removed and replaced bath tile floor and mortar bed. Also repaired garage door. Repaired and cleaned gutters around the entire house. Jacked up and braced sub-floor and installed 2 support posts. Also did some small minor repairs that I was unable to do being elderly like taking down my curtains and rods and putting up some new ones, changing light bulbs that were very high and fixing a small leak around my hose.

Description of Work: Replaced my mailbox and post. Installed garage door opener. Installed bi-fold doors. Installed interior doors. Refinished kitchen cabinets and installed glass doors. Painted interior trim. Removed and replaced damaged siding. Concrete repair to front walkway.
