Terrrible, Mr.Taylor comes across as a very nice, concerned individual, BUT he does not come on time, neither do his workers, they do not call if they are going to be late or even if they are not coming. The work was done in piece meal style. The crew that replaced the windows that were damaged left the debrie in the yard as mentioned, when Mr.Taylor saw it a month later he apologized and promised to have someone come pick it up and take it away, I already told that story. When the roofers finished I went up one the roof and they had put back the same roof ridging (or what ever it's called), I notified Mr. Taylor and a few weeks later he brought out new and a few days later they hopefully applied it (I haven't been up there to check). Mr Taylor freq.told me he was ordering supplies so they could get the job done, but when it came time to do the job he would say again NOW he could order the supplies. Given all the problems I have had I still have not figured out why in the world I paid him before the job was totally finished. So the BIGGEST DON'T I have is DON'T PAY the full amount UNTIL the JOB IS FINISHED to YOUR SATISFACTION!!!!!!! if they need it for supplies find out were they order from and order it yourself.
Description of Work: I suffered storm damage early July, when a tree limb hit the corner of my house doing a fair amount of damage. It took several weeks to find a contracter because there had been alot of storm damage through the area. I went with Tristate because the agent from Liberty Mutual knew of their work and said they did a good job, he did not know of the other company. (It was a personal recommendation not a professional one). They started in Late July, never came on time, sometimes did not even show up on the day they said they would but maybe a week later with no warning. I could not get an estimate, Mr.Taylor kept saying he would get me one, I finally had the insurance company send me the information he had sent them. It was for 10,000.00 more than what the insurance company said they would pay, after about a month with no work being done I found out that when there is a difference between the insurance estimate and the contractor est. all work stops until it is resolved.During that time the old wood and frames were left on the ground in my yard, kelling the weeds and leaving a big scar onthe ground , I had to make several phone calls to the company to have them come clean it up, and then they just moved it out to by the street and the next day the City came by and left me a note stating I had three days to move it or I would be fined, it took 3 more calls to get them to come out and finish picking it up before I was fined. Finally about Sept. the insurance company cleared it (after several phone calls from me). I thought that the work would be finished. HA HA joke on me. Mid.October they came out to redo the siding, Mr. Taylor had told me on too many occasions to count that he was ordering the supplies. When they went to pickup the supplies they discovered that Lowe's did not carry all of the supplies needed (what happened to ordering the supplies?). When he did finally order the needed supply it apparently took Lowe's over 3 weeks to deliver (I order from Lowe's and get it in 3-6 days). Since I thought the work was to be done that day (except for the piece that had to order more of) I very stupidly paid him, Since November no more work has been done, he had written me a check for 1500.00 for work I would do myself (It bounced). There still remains the piece that had to be ordered, the side cutters and drain spout and the Skylight. Mr Taylor has told me on numerous occasions that he would pay me as soon as he got the other businees cleared and lead me to believe on many occasions it would be this week, next week, in two days, in two weeks, etc, etc, etc. He seldom returns my calls. A few weeks ago he called and said he would bring out a contract for me to sign, setting up payments for him to pay me the money he owes, nothing about the work not done. I have called the insurance company but since I very, very, very stupidly already paid him there is nothing they can do, I can notify the state licensure board and the BBB. I have hated to do that but I don't it's been 5 months since I paid him; and I don't have the money to pay someone else to finish the job, and since I can't even get him to repay me what he owes I doubt I could get him to pay for someone else to finish the job. (He did give me 500.00 on the day I notified of the bounce check and promised the remaining 1000.00 over the next two weeks).
