Install went well. I think their workmanship is decent. My problem with them and why I stopped using them is that they are not responsive and reliable. First I signed up for a yearly service contract with them. They came once, checked A/C. Then never came again. They also didn't charge me - but still, expected them to contact me again 6 months later. Thy didn't and I also forgot to remind them (should be their job to remind their customers, not the other way round).
A while later, A/C didn't work, my wife called, they came out, figured out it was a leak. They re-filled with freon and dye, were going to come back a few weeks later to find the leak. Never did come back. Since A/C worked, we forgot about it. Next spring/summer, A/C again didn't work because of missing freon. At that point I had enough and called a different company.
I think they are honest and do decent work, but are simply not reliable. I'm happy to pay for good service, but I need a company that just does the job and doesn't require me to remind them that they promised to come by. Seems to work for most every other company I've been dealing with. They need to get better organized, then I might consider using them again.

I was extremely impressed with Acker's service. I made an appointment with them for a certain day, they had some extra time the day before and called and asked if I would like them to come earlier. They were punctual and professional. (Even knocking before entering the house each time.) They explained the repairs and costs before doing anything, and asked for permission to continue work. Afterwards,they found they had accidently overcharged me. They immediately contacted me,apologised profusely and refunded me the money owed. This was very admirable as I would have probably never known of the mistake. In my opinion, kindness and truth is not seen often enough in todays business. I highly recommend the services of Acker Heating and Air.

They admitted they were not a licensed Trane dealer and then did not charge us for their service call, instead advising us to get someone else. Very ethical and honest and we highly recommend them. We ended up getting Jordan Air, another local company, who is a Trane dealer, who came out promptly and fixed the mess left by Michael Heating and Air.

It was for air conditioning, it went okay. They are just real nice and helpful. I like the company.

He is reputable, honest, and dependable. They are about average on price.
