Encore Surfacing

I guess business must be really go for this company because they never bothered to return any of our calls or mail messages through Angie's List asking for an appointment for a bid. Absolute lack of professionalism - if you can't respond to my request for a bid, then I obviously can't trust anything about you.

Stuart at Encore Resurfacing was recommended to me by a neighbor. When I called his cell phone, he answered the call, gave me a quote over the phone, and even scheduled the appointment. No back and forth with multiple phone calls. He showed up on time with everything he needed to complete the work in the time alloted. He was very careful not to damage anything in our bathroom. He was extremely detail-oriented and knowledgable. Our tub looks fantastic.

Stuart came in and determined that the tub just needed a really good cleaning and not resurfacing. I appreciate his honesty! he also gave me some tips on how to keep the tub clean and recommended some products that he had used. He also re-caulked a couple of areas that needed it. He charged me $175 less the 5% Angie's List discount. I found Stuart to be extremely pleasant and nice and performed exceptional work. I will definitely use him again if needed.

I had no idea just how involved this process is. Stuart knows his stuff and did an excellent job. My 50 year old cast irn tub and tile surround look brand new and beuatiful. Stuart does not settle for anything less than perfection and it shows in the results.

Stuart had quite a drive to get to us for a small job, but still came in with a smile. The job done was professional and he explained everything he did. He gave some good product and cleaning tips, too! He is now in my permanent file!! Thanks Angie's List!!.

Stuart of Encore Surfacing did a great job. Several years ago, another contractor reglazed my shower tile and tub and the earlier work was starting to look pretty bad. Stuart could tell right away what was wrong and what needed to be re-done. Apparently, the previous crew used caulking instead of grout on the tile in the shower. The caulking was rotting away. Stuart removed the old glazing and all of the caulk the previous crew used. He grouted the tile, recaulked areas that are supposed to be caulked (between the tile and tub) then reglazed the shower tile. He said the tub didn't need a new coat of glaze so he didn't do that and didn't charge for it. He communicated well before and during the job, did good work and was even friendly to my dog. I'm grateful and I would definitely use his services again!

They did a good job. He was real flexible with the scheduling. We worked something out that was good for both of us. It wasn't like a traditional set of hours. It worked for both of us. He was pretty fast, so I was able to get it done. I thought the price might have been a little bit high. He seemed like he knew what he was doing.

Excellent. Be aware the glaze stuff really smells for a day or so until it dries. ? But it's worth the smell to have beautiful, shiny tub and new-looking counter/sink, both of which were in very bad condition.?

He is an expert at tile and resurfacing. Stewart was a really great guy and I loved working with him. His OCD was a positive benefit in the work he did. I would absolutely use him again.

After about 6 hours he was finished and tub looked brand new. I mentioned to him that I found him on Angie's list and he gave me a $25 discount. Outstanding service and workmanship at a decent price.

Stuart did an excellent job. He was always prompt and professional. He worked miracles in my bathrooms. He cleaned and caulked the master shower. It looks amazing! My son's shower was in awful shape. I had tried cleaning it but it had stains and mold that I couldn't remove with the strongest cleaning products. I expected Stuart to get it clean enough and caulked so that it could be glazed. When he had it clean and caulked, it was sparkling. He and I agreed that it didn't need to be glazed. It was very considerate of him to show me how it looked and to ask if I still wanted it glazed. The tubs that he glazed look better than they ever have since we bought the house. We inherited a brown tub that is now sparkling white. Stuart heard me say that it was too bad we couldn't replace the countertops and showed me a beautiful speckled glaze that he could do to update them. They are gorgeous! I will definitely recommend him to anyone!

Stuart was very responsive in giving me. Quote (including an Angie's List discount), proactively communicating lead time, and returning phone calls to schedule service (on two different occasions). Was willing to work at my house while I was at work, which I appreciated, given inability to take time off easily. We met in am so that I could show him the tub, and by end of day, it was complete and looked great. The second visit (for a different tub), he repaired a few cracks in the original tub's refinishing (we dropped a razor that chipped one section and had a heavy shower curtain rod fall and "ding" another area of the tub). Neither was very noticeable, but Stuart repaired at no cost. Great service!

Stuart was a little late arriving but called to inform me of the delay so no problem. He spent several hours cleaning, patching and refininishing a steel tub that looked horrible. The result was a shiny brand new looking bathtub. I'm very satisfied.

It sparkles like brand new. Stuart did a great job. My only nit-picky thing is one place on the caulking that isn't as smooth as I would have liked, but that's the only thing I can find to complain about and it ain't much!

We hired Stuart to refinish our bath tub during our bathroom remodel. He was very professional, honest, prompt, and courteous. The quality of work and value of the work provided for the money was even better. I would absolutely recommend Stuart for any of the services he provides. Thank you Stuart.

Took forever to agree on a date for service. When he finally did arrive, he complained about how far he had to drive. Stuart spent a lot of the time watching tv & talking. Job looked ok when it was first finished, but within a couple months, the surface started peeling. We weren't able to get him to come back to fix it, nor would he respond to phone calls.

They had to come back several times for my particular tub but overall he did a good job. He was very helpful, didn't mess around and I would recommend him.

They removed old caulk, cleaned tub, repaired bottom and top and resurfaced tub and then caulked. They were fast efficient and did the job. I was using this in an investment home and the tub still looks like the day they resurfaced. You can't tell the difference from this being an older cast iron tub to a newer tub. I will be using them again in an upcoming home.

Stuart of Encore Surfacing is very friendly and helpfull. I had to reschedule our first appointmen and even though I called him the night before he worked with us to reschdule before our company was to come in for the weekend. Stuart was very Knowledgeable about his work. He came in assessed the problems and gave us our options in about 10 minutes time. Once we had our plan he went to work he put in a lot of time repairing the cracks, sanding and heaven only knows what else. He was very professional and friendly made you feel right at home. He keep you updated of the process and worked consistently to complete the job ASAP. Right as he was getting ready to complete the last couple of steps he informed us that we had a leak in the tub. He tried several things to hopefully keep us from having to call a plumber but it was no use it was just to much water it would mess up the finished product. I checked Angie's List located Bartline Plumbers and gave them a brief description of the problem. Encore Surfacing had to leave but was willing to come back to complete the surfacing if we could get someone out today. Without delay, Ed from Bartline Plumbers had Ken on his way to the rescue. Ben called to let us know he would be at our house in 20 minutes. Once Ben was in the house assessed the situation and was out with a solution within 5 minutes after his arrival. He gave us a quick rundown of the process and cost he then ran to Home Depot to get the parts needed (we have an old tub). Once he was back Ben was in and out of the Bathroom within 15 minutes, job completed. Replacing parts, sweating pipes and all Ben defiantly knew what he was doing and how to do it. Took several of his business cards to hand out to family and friends. Would use this company again and highly recommend them. They saved the day with Kens quick actions. Stuart from Encore Surfacing was able to turn around and come back to finish the job. Again because of Ken's fast actions, Encore Surfacing did not charge us for coming back out to finish up the job and my BATHTUB LOOKS FANTASTIC! Great experience from both companies.
