I would love to rate this well, but I cannot. It is an unfortunate situation that occurred. I have hired out United many times on behalf of organizations but never used them personally until now. I can state that I will NOT under any circumstances utilize or recommend their services EVER again. In hitting the highlight reel of this situation: 1. They indicated a tractor-trailer would show up to relocate us; a box truck came (late) and required a 2nd pickup day, causing us to lose the ability to be with our family on the last day we lived in that state. 2. They were unresponsive and would not identify a time when my 2nd truck would even arrive since they had to do two pick-ups. But be mindful that the corporate shut down on the weekends, so they will call you back on their time. 3. I was told late on the eve of delivery that my 2nd truck would arrive with my first truck (celebrate right....wrong!) The first truck came (crew broke my couch in front of me, my grandmother's rocking chair, and a few other things...stay tuned for more on the "total coverage"). They delivered the goods, and when did they let me know that my additional delivery was NOT arriving, and they were unsure when it would! UNSURE... Glad I went and got myself a UHAUL (extra cost) to ensure the "non-replaceable" items made it.... thank goodness I did on that delay. 4. I called the VP of Sales, who was then able to get someone to support and respond, and he let me know my goods would come in on the following Friday. Everything came in by that time. Pros - The driver we had was fantastic. I am very sympathetic to staffing challenges, but they sent him one day with four guys, the next with 2, the following with 2, and the following time with 1. They were tipped each time (take care of those not responsible for poor support) and given food and beverages. Staffing challenges are real, but when you pay what you pay for this service.....just saying. When they quoted me for the weight, they only had us around 10,00lb. We ended up being over 13k, which we were not charged more as we were binding as I have heard of others....but you shouldn't; that is their team that does the estimate. Cons they do not deliver on the promise. Their resolution to a problem is to avoid it. The contract you sign voids any ability to allow them to be responsible for anything. The value of them giving you "full coverage" of the price of your goods is this..... NO MATTER WHAT you send in a claim form; they will immediately send you a response offering the ability to give you $500 without them needing to inspect or anything or.....run you through a gauntlet. They will not tell you that you need to keep all the moving packaging, do not try to fix, and indeed, above all, keep everything broken... but if they offer ANYTHING or give you the ability to continue to run the rat race, they will repossess your items if a preferred vendor cannot mend them. So a couch that would cost over $2500 to replace(shocked me too), they offered $500 or repossessed and run the gauntlet and sit on the floor for 4 - 6 months while it comes in (I looked it up and all!!) Either way, don't let the name of "united" behind any of their franchisees give comfort. I called United; they called Armstrong and didn't feel I DESERVED a reimbursement or Customer Service outreach to support the additional costs we incurred, time, and immense frustration. But United does have the BEST customer service people. Sarah, who I spoke with, was excellent, but .... they did come back and offer me $200, haha. That didn't even cover the gas to drive the Uhaul. Lord help them and me. Service like this makes you wonder how one stays in business. The coat tails of the United name will eventually wear on them. So many more points within this, but I wanted people to hear the highlight reel. Choose at your own risk, but for me and my house.... NEVER AGAIN.
