We received immediate response to our inquiry and had no problems scheduling the sales visit. Ed Hosch came to our house to measure and provided a written work estimate/order form which he sent electronically the following day. All we had to do, according to Ed, was print and sign the form and mail it with a 50% deposit to the "corporate office". We did that within a few days. Six weeks later, we still had not heard one word from Ed about delivery dates. We called him and learned that no order had ever been placed. Ed's first reaction was that we were at fault for not placing the order or that someone stole the check. He requested that I track down the cancelled check to verify that Acadia cashed it. I was able to do so and it was clear that the check was deposited by Acadia within a few days of the order being mailed in. Ed was very apologetic at this point and said "we don't do business this way". So, we requested that the order be expedited so that we could have delivery within 1-2 weeks. We also requested some sort of discount due to the significant delay. Ed promised to call us back with the delivery date. He never called. When we called him again, he once more apologized, and said he would check and get back to us within a few days. He failed to call us at the promised time -- when we called him on it, Ed said he would have his installer call that evening to set up a date for installation. The installer did not call us back for four days. We did finally have the shutters installed (over 5 weeks late) and were not offered any discount.

The job went very well. Everyone at Acadia was prompt and professional. The shutters were produced on time. They were installed without incident. The overall experience was very good. I would definitely recommend the company.

Overall, this was a great experience. Ed provided all of the information and help necessary for us to make a decision about window coverings for our new (older) home. We chose hardwood plantation shutters for the front of our home, which faces southwest and 2 1/2 inch polywood blinds for the windows on the back of the house. Time from order to installation was about five weeks. Installation for the entire project was completed within 3 or 4 hours, tops. There was one slight error with one of the shutters and its framing. The installer requested corrected parts, made the shutter and frame work in the interim and returned within a couple of weeks to complete the job. Acadia was slightly higher priced than another bid we received, but the attention to detail and follow-up meant no headaches. We would use Acadia again.

Most excellent; I always wanted interior shutters and the Acadia product is beyond my expectations. I am so pleased with the architectural look of my shutters I'm having them installed in the bedroom as well. They're not least expensive in town, but wow. They certainly know their business. I would highly recommend Acadia to anyone who likes an clean, functional window convering.

We chose Acadia Shutters, as they came highly recommended on Angie's List and were lowest on cost. The faux wood blinds are very nice. However, we ordered some upgraded blinds with fabric tapes on the ladders as well. Those weren't well made, since they actually made the blinds' ladders of fabric, which will stretch over time. Other companies that we considered actually sew the ribbon onto standard string ladders, which seems much more durable. The upgraded blinds didn't open evenly and one set on a door wouldn't open all the way. The installer agreed that this wasn't right and took them back to be fixed. Acadia did offer to fix the blinds we had ordered no cost. However, after seeing the quality of these more expensive blinds, we were not comfortable with having them at all. They also didn't look very good, since the ribbons were secured to the bottom of the blinds crooked, over the wood piece with ugly metal tacks. So at that point, we just wanted to go with the standard blinds, which seemed fine. Acadia said that to switch the blinds out, we needed to pay half the cost of the new blinds, in addition to what we had already paid for the more expensive blinds. So, we basically wound up paying one and a half times to wind up with less fancy window treatments. It took a number of weeks to get Acadia to come and re-install the blinds, and when the finally did, they installed one set backwards, which I didn't notice until after they left. I guess that my handy fianc will have to fix this. Now that it is said and done, I don't know that we ended up saving money by going with Acadia.

Acadia charges a little more than other companies, but it is well worth the price. The service was excellent. The materials and workmanship in building the custom shutters are outstanding. The installation was professional, even to the detail of putting chalking around the shutters for a clean and tight fit. The shutters give us the privacy we want, cut out nearly all light (rooms get dark with the shutters closed, even in the day), and I believe reduce outside noise from getting in. We are very pleased with shutters and the experience of dealing with Acadia and highly recommend them.

Ed came to measure for the blinds;1 Large window consisting of two narrow windows, a center window and three sets of double windows. He had many colors and was able to match my trim exactly. I had to mail my 50% deposit in with a check (they didn't take debit or credit cards over the phone). Two weeks later, my blinds came in and we made another appointment to install. Installation was quick, but the two narrow blinds were two small. They put them up anyway so that I had something covering the windows. Additionally, they did not ask for the remainder of the balance because the blinds weren't correct. They came back and installed the correct sized blinds (this was really quick:) and then I paid the balance. They beat my other estimate by about $300.

They were very professional when they came out. They didn't measure everything right because they didn't fit. They had to take them back to the shop three times before they got them right. They didn't clean the dust off the shutters and they left a lot of screws in the driveway.

The representative was prompt and came to my home to give me an estimate at my convenience (after 5:00 PM, which was nice.) After getting another estimate, Acadia was the best, and the shutters were available for installation in about 3 weeks. The installers were prompt and professional. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again when I replace a door in my kitchen. The shutters have dramatically improved the appearance of my townhouse!

I liked the guy that came to my house. He was professional and very hard working. They did a beautiful job and I am thrilled with the service. I would recommend them to other people any time. They are great!

Acadia exceeded our expectations on timing (completed in less time than the estimate). The shutters and blinds are of high quality and were installed professionally.

Our overall experience with Acadia Shutters was excellent. Rob was on time for our appointment, brought many samples, and spent a good amount of time discussing our options with us. None of the standard colors matched our trim, so he took a sample of our paint and was able to match the shutters to our trim. We were promised our shutters in 4 - 6 weeks, and we had them installed in just about 4 weeks after we placed our order. The installer was also prompt and did a great job.

Acadia Shutters did an excellent job with our shutters at a very reasonable price. The salespeople were punctual, respectful, knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to deal with. The shutters are handsome, well-made, well-matched to our paint scheme and well-installed. I particularly liked that I was able to correspond with Acadia Shutters either by telephone or email. It made the process a breeze.

The service was pretty good, although a little slow a couple of times- the guy came out to measure pretty quickly and was very professional. It took a couple of days and me calling back to get the actual estimate sent to me, however. Once I decided to have them do the work, then I had to mail in a check for deposit before the order was placed, as they don't take credit cards. Once the blinds were in, scheduling the installation was quick. The installer was great- fast and very professional. The blinds themselves look great.
