Only issue was that initially they did not do a good job repairing the siding, but they corrected this after I called them.

The whole process of getting an appointment was easy and they even gave me a $50 coupon off the chimney sweep.

It went very well. The two technicians were on time and very respectful of my property during the visit. They were fast, but thorough, and I'm happy with the work they performed.

The man knew nothing about my cast iron stove. He needed to remove 2 screws to access to the fireplace and never figured this out to inspect it. He went on the roof and told me my crown was cracked and some tiles were out of alignment. My entire chimney needed to be rebuilt for around $4000. I thanked him for his time, went to the store and brought a brush and rods for $110 and cleaned the chimney myself. I also repaired the crown with the assistance of the store. I wonder if Mad Hatter ever met a chimney that didn't need rebuilding. The store would do the cleaning for 1/2 of Mad Hatters Price, but I did it myself with a shop vac & fireplace brush. I called Mad Hatter & told them of my disappointment with the knowledge & practices of the technician. He refused to refund my $75.

They did a great job and always have. We have been using them for years. They were able to see that the wind deflector needed to be replaced even when the building inspector missed it. I was very pleased with them and the great price they gave me to do the whole job.

They were prompt and came when they said they would. We were given all the information we needed and they were very helpful when we went to their store to look at the available options (wood-burning insert vs. gas logs vs. chimney re-line.) Everything was done well and there were no problems or surprises. We were very pleased with the entire process.

They did have to come back a few times because they'd forgotten supplies they needed to do the job. They were very pleasant and did good work in the end.

I received an over the phone estimate of $500 to clean all the air ducts in my house. When the guys came, as scheduled, they proceeded to tell me I had mold and would need to reschedule for another day to bring the proper equipment. Everyone pets included would need to be out of the house when the microbial spray was used and for an additional 6 hours. With the system off. To be sure it dried. My estimate went from $500 to $1500. The mold was caused by dripping of the ac system and would recur every summer because of the way the system was built. So Mad Hatter said I would need to go through the above process yearly. They really pushed their particular microbial spray and emphasized the dangers of mold and charged me for the visit. Instead, I had an ac/heat company fix the systemic problem, clean the ducts and service the system for the same price. The mold was removed and they never recommend introducing moisture into the system via microbial spray.

Overall the work was done well. When the crew arrived more extensive problems were found and demonstrated. These additional problems required additional services that more than trippled the price I had been quoted. In retrospect it seems that the price was excessive for the manhours involved. The work was performed in a professional manner and appeared to be done very well. The crew followed our request of using care when in the crawl space in order not to carry dirt or debris into the house. They wore disposable coveralls and removed them before entering the house. The work I observed was extensive and appeared to be very complete. The house now smells clean and fresh. One area that they could improve is they should carry an assortment of filters to install in the HVAC systems when they are finished. I had to provide those myself. For the price charged that should have been included.

The guys were a little late, but they worked VERY hard. I thought the regular price for cleaning the air ducts was reasonable ($600.00 for 27 vents), but I thought the add-on price to clean the blowers was a little pricey ($490.00 for the two systems). I had the blowers done because they had never been cleaned before.

THEY WERE EXTREMELY NEAT AND EFFICIENT. THEY CAME IN, LAID A TARP DOWN BEFORE THEY STARTED WORKING. THEY VACUUMED AND CLEANED UP EVERYTHING BEFORE THEY LEFT. THEY SHOWED ME WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS THE NECESSARY REPAIRS, AND ALSO WHAT THEY RECOMMENDED SHOULD ALSO BE DONE. THEY WERE COURTEOUS, AND PROFESSIONAL.

WORK WAS ORIGINALLY PROMISED TO BE COMPLETED IN TWO WEEKS. IT TOOK A MONTH AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO GET THE JOB COMPLETED. THE FINAL JOB WAS ACCEPTABLE, BUT THERE ARE TWO VISIBLE SCRATCHES. THEY DID NOT REPAINT ON THE NEW CAP.

MAD HATTER STAFF NOTIFIED US THAT TECHNICIANS WERE RUNNING LATE. TECHNICIANS WERE VERY EFFICIENT. THEY CLEANED 98% OF THE MESS (MISSED VACUUMING ONE BATHROOM). WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK AND NOTICED, IMMEDIATELY, THE BENEFIT. ALSO, WE HAVE BIRDS, AND THE SANITIZER HAD NO EFFECT ON THEM. WE HAD A $ 50 OFF COUPON FROM THE PREVIOUS CHIMNEY CLEANING.

ROY, THE MAD HATTER CHIMNEY SWEEP, DID A TIDY AND THOROUGH JOB. UNFORTUNATELY FOR US, HE FOUND THAT THE FIREPLACE WOULD NEED REPLACING DUE TO CRACKS IN THE HEAT-PROOF SURROUND, BUT HE PROVIDED A FREE ESTIMATE FOR REPLACEMENT ALSO. HE ADVISED US NOT TO USE THE FIREPLACE FOR SAFETY REASONS. SINCE THE WORK HAS BEEN DONE WE HAVE HAD A LEAK THROUGH THE CHIMNEY, THE SAID THAT THE RESULTING LEAK WAS A COINCIDENCE.

IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG TO SCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT, THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME, CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND COMPLETED THE WORK IN A TIMELY MANNER. I AM QUITE HAPPY WITH THE RESULT.

THEY CHECKED THE SAFETY OF A GAS FIREPLACE THAT WAS MAKING A HISSING SOUND. IT WAS THE PILOT LIGHT AND THERE WAS NO DANGER.

THEY SEEM TO BE VERY THOROUGH. THEY ARE VERY CLEAN AND GAVE FRIENDLY SERVICE.

WE COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO TURN ON THE FURNACE, THEY SHOWED US WITHOUT LAUGHING AT US.

THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB! THERE WAS SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN AIR QUALITY IN MY HOUSE AFTER THE CLEANING. IT WAS AMAZING!

THEY WERE IN AND OUT QUICKLY. THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A MESS. OVER ALL IT WAS A PRETTY GOOD PERFORMANCE.
