Services were completed timely and with care of the surrounding areas. I was very pleased with results and would recommend the vendor to others with similar issue.

Would only come out to clean fireplace for a predetermined price but would not provide an estimate for repairs until cleaning was done. If cleaning did nor resolve the problem, I would have to pay more for the repair. I will not buy a cleaning service when i need a repair service performed!

They were just very efficient. They came out and did the job. We have been happy with them ever since. There was no issue since the service was provided. They did a great job and they are still in business in route 9. We probably would use them again in the future.

They were on time for the appointment and quick which I appreciated greatly.

The initial installation of the gas logs, and the inspection, was estimated to take 4 hours, It actually took a little more than 3. The installer/inspector was on-time, friendly, and very professional. After the inspection, he provided an estimate (at my request) of the cost and time frame to perfom the needed repairs. I agreed to the cost, and the time, and a week later, as scheduled, Mad Hatter returned to replace the chimney sheathing and the rain pan. Everything went as expected.

It went well. At first I was concerned that maybe they did not know what to do but in the end it all turned out good. The replacement of the valve looks a bit sloppy but they were working in a tight corner. The two men were very nice and professional. They cleaned up behind themselves and left my home the way they found it. They also wore shoe covers to keep my floors clean which I really appreciated.

I like this company and have been using them since 2010 but I had a very odd pricing experience this year. They installed a gas log set for us, and hooked up a gas line, and have swept and inspected all chimneys this whole time. We have five fireplaces, and three chimneys. One fireplace is wood burning, three are gas, and one is gas/flueless. I called to schedule the annual check and sweeping and told them they could skip the flueless fireplace since we don't use it. They quoted me over $800 for 4 fireplaces. After I hung up I checked what we spent last year and it was $311 including two new pairs of gas lantern nets. In the interest of giving them a chance, I called back and ended up getting transferred to the service manager. In the end, he agreed to match last year's price but if I hadn't called back then I would have just gone elsewhere. There were two men here for less than two hours. I know they need to know what they are doing but $800 is not a reasonable price to be quoting. Now I will look around for other prices, and I have used Chimney Solutions for other work.

It went very good. They were thorough and detailed.

Our experience with Mad Hatter was excellent. Everything they did was great. We have not had any reason to use them since but I would gladly use them in the future and recommend them to others.

The gentlemen were very nice and arrived on time. The service was more expensive than I would have predicted. It would a good policy for the company to require the techs to wear shoe covers in the house!

Although the reviews on this site haven't been amazing - reviews on others were. I was also recommended to The Mad Hatter by another company that I've used and trust so I thought I would give them a try. I went to the showroom in Alpharetta and after a ton of questions selected a gas log set and scheduled the install for 5/10/13. We were also going to have the chimney swept because we weren't sure when it had last been done. Matthew came out and did an amazing job. The fireplace works great and it is now a focal point again rather than a big mess. Definitely give them a chance. No issues what so ever and the job was completed quickly and without a mess.

I used this company to do a chimney sweep which included an inspection. Was not overall impressed with they guys sent...they were young. They cleaned the chimney and looked inside with a camera, but that's about all. In Dec I noticed water coming in my fireplace rock face. I went into the attic and noticed the inner wall of the chimney was all lose brick (should have been pointed out during the home inspection), but was also missed (not even looked at) by these guys. As a result I called another chimney company to come out. They did an inspection on the chimney and pointed out several things that should have been addressed by the other company during their job. I called Matt Hatter back and to point out the problems as well as get an estimate of repairs. They came out at no charge, sent more experienced guys and agreed to the fact the previous guys did a less than par job and were extremely vague in their report. Their estimate was a bit high; therefore, I used a different company for the repairs. HOWEVER, Mad Hatter did own up to their mistake and refunded my service fee with an apology letter that said they will address the issues with the company and employees. I commend them for that! Hopefully, they will not have that issue again in the future.

They came, did an assessment, and sent their report quickly. The report was professionally prepared and accurate.

My duct cleaning crew, Michael L and Pepe P, were amazing! As a first time homeowner, I needed to get my ductwork cleaned out (two systems), and I was referred to the Mad Hatter by Angie's List, my home inspector, and realtor. I was not disappointed. The crew showed up precisely on time, and they were incredibly helpful as they showed me each step in the process. The crew spent roughly 1.5 hours to prepare the areas, setting up the machine, and preparing the ducts, but once they got started, the worked quickly and efficiently. Along the way, they put up with my incessant questions (being new to all of this, I was constantly asking, out of sheer curiosity, what each step was and how it worked). They were incredibly friendly and informative. I cannot recommend them enough- excellent job! I have two gas fireplaces that will likely need attention in the coming years, and based on my service experience with duct cleaning, I won't hesitate to contact Mad Hatter for this service.

They were very nice and professional, they covered my rug and floors and did not leave a mess, they showed us how to use the gas logs. This all went very well. They then told us that the small crack in the back of the fireplace meant that it was unsafe to use the gas logs, and that we needed to replace the firebox for $500. That seemed like a lot, so we got a second quote from another provider . The other provider told us that the crack was small and no problem, and even guessed who had told us that we needed to spend $500 to replace the firebox. It seems they have a reputation for this type of thing.

I just had my air ducts and furnance cleaned by Mad Hatter and was very please with the price and service. Initial call customer service indicated that there was $50 discount plus if I went to web site there was coupon for another $50 off. Price was very reasonable for 18 vents. There were 3 gentlemen, very neat, professional, let me know of everything going on, and when finished cleaned up. I was especially happy since 8 years ago had cleaned by national company not to be named and all they did was stick a hose up in vents, Mad Hatter came in and spent a minimumof 1 1/2 prepping and then took this hug machine up stairs since my furnance is in the attic and spent another 2 hours cleanning. Vents all cleaned including covers, and I have actually one vent in living room that now works! I would highly recomment. Thank you

My overall experience with The Mad Hatter was wonderful. At first I was hesitant because of the distant of the store from my home. The store is on the North side and I live on the South side of Atlanta. Mr. Chris was very knowledgeable with our request for a contemporary unit and was very responsive with e-mails and questions. This is why my husband and I decided to go with this company. The company sent out a team to inspect the sight of install and they were very professional and in uniform. When I really became impressed with the company was when Mr. Chris ordered the product and how quickly it arrived to be installed. The company sent out the best team to install but before they arrived, a project manager I think named Fred arrived to go over the design aspect and to capture my vision of the design. He listened and made suggestions on the best way he thought to install. Wow, I am so happy I listened to his advice. When people walk in my home and see that fireplace they say "wow." Now, let me tell you about the workers. They were the best I ever used and I was impressed. The Mad Hatter sent out I think the best team (i.e. Daniel Jimenez, Juan Carlos, Alberta and Jesus). They were professional, skilled, prompt, respectful, kind and I can go on and on. My project took a total of three days because a cabinet/wall had to be built, gas line replaced and new line installed, electrical moved, TV installed. They even went above and beyond to rebuild a stainless steel mantel to go over the fireplace. I will tell you that they worked hard those three days to finish the project to make me even more comfortable because I'm not a big fan of renovation projects (smile). Everyday on the job, they would clean up like they have not been there and they would not leave until we were satisfied. My experience with The Mad Hatter has been exceptional and I'm usually hard to pleased. Again, I was impressed with their service and would recommend them to any and everyone.

We used The Mad Hatter without exploring our options. We bought gas logs from them with installation (afterwards we found out that they charged quite a bit more than their competitors for the exact same thing). We were also told that the "special" spray paint they use to freshen up the fireplace was $75 which only "covered the cost of the spray". When they arrived and I saw what they were using, it was nothing more than fireproof spray paint I could have bought myself for $25. Making a profit is fine but don't lie to me about it. We were also given the option of purchasing glass doors (which we did before we knew better). After waiting three weeks for custom doors, we found out from the Mad Hatter installer that the original Mad Hatter technician measured wrong and the doors did not fit. I finally received a call from the office telling me we only had 1 fireplace door option to choose from that would fit our fireplace (which was ugly in my opinion). We contacted the manufacturer that night and discovered that not only did they measure wrong, they ordered the wrong doors. They ordered doors for a prefab chimney versus a masonry, which is what we have. We also found out that there were several options we could have chosen. At this point, we lost all confidence in Mad Hatters ability to do the job and do it right. Also, we are now not sure if the gas log installation was correct because there seems to be some issues with the gas getting through the very thick layer of sand and ambers that were used. Now we are going to have to pay another company to come in and make sure the gas logs are installed properly. We do not recommend this company based on our experience.

We've used the Mad Hatter several times before for chimney sweeping, gas logs purchase/installation, and chimney cap replacement. Each time I was very pleased with their work. Recently, we had them do some exterior chimney restoration, which included replacement of some old and rotted cedar siding, sealing and repainting. This time, the work was just "ok". They did a good job but did not do everything I asked them to do. They were supposed to replace one board that was damaged by woodpeckers, but it was not replaced. A couple of other boards were slightly misaligned. We picked up a lot of nails in the driveway after they left. Overall I was a little disappointed with their services.

What I liked about it is that we needed a cap to keep squirrels out and what they provided for me was a custom cap. They did what they said and they came when they said they would. I looked at two other places and The Mad Hatter Service Company's price was fair. I have had storms and nothing has shifted. I called on a Monday and they were out on a Wednesday. They gave me a two hour window and were there at the beginning of the window. They were in uniforms and they were clean which is unusual.

They were fine. We were very happy with them. They met the estimate that they gave us. They came out on time and did the work on time and so far everything seems to be fine. I would rate them highly, and would use them again in the future if I needed to.

The experience was good. Within a few weeks, the part they installed turned out to be defective and cracked. They were very responsive with coming out to replace it. They did a great job overall.

He came out and I felt didn’t do much of anything except clean the glass and said it was fixed, and the next day when I turned it on it did the exact same thing. I called them back and they said it needs a new valve estimated at $385 even though I just paid them $105 two days before to look at it. They also said if they came back out they’d charge additional labor costs on top of what they already charged me and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone or use them again.
