Description of Work: The scheduling was prompt and the technician was punctual. With both a double oven with no power and a microwave with an inoperative turntable, the technician pushed a few buttons and concluded that the problem with each was the control unit. Because the control unit for the 19-year-old ovens is no longer available as a new part and because the part for the microwave would cost almost as much as a new one, he recommended we replace both. Consequently, no work was done. I subsequently arranged a service call from the manufacturer of the microwave who opened it up and tested parts and found that the problem was the motor for the turntable, a part costing $35. The labor was expensive, of course, but the microwave works fine and the control panel is fine. The same tech who fixed the microwave agreed to work on the ovens on his own time since they are from a different manufacturer. He opened it up, checked fuses behind the ovens, then opened up the control panel where he found a burned fuse. I bought a new one for $25 and the tech charged me $80 to put it in. My conclusion was that AAR got their share of the $39.95 I paid without doing any work and spending only a few minutes at my house. I definitely would not use them again.

Description of Work: I had purchased the service from Angies list for a rental property that I had. I was not present when the technician came for the repair on the frig. I had gave the renter the right to agree to use the service since I was not available. I will omit that I do not have much knowledge on the cost of repair of appliances. The problem was the drain on the frig was closed and he had to clean the line and clean the condenser. The charge for labor was $220.00 minus the supposedly $55.00 off by using the Anglies discount plus the original fee of $29.95 for the purchase. This fee for approximately 30 minutes of work seem excessively. As I stated, I would not use this service again. I had purchase this service in a hurry one night and I did not find out how to review the rating on Anglie list until later. You cannot just click at the site when you are purchasing it to review the comments about the contractor.

Description of Work: Tried cleaning the circuit board of my dishwasher. That helped for a short time. Then we determined the circuit board was in need of replacement. They replaced the circuit board and fixed the door which was also misaligned. Technician was on time for both visits and was knowledgeable and professional. Scheduling happened quickly and they called me to schedule the follow up when the part came in. The entire experience was terrific!

Description of Work: They could not diagnose the problem with out the refrigerator making the noise I was worried about. Unfortunately it would not make it very often. He looked at the internal components and everything seemed to be functioning properly. The refrigerator worked properly so we were satisfied with the outcome although the issue was not resolved. |I did have a hard time understanding the technician at times due to his heavy accent.
