After extensive research, and contacting many people I know in the industry, I hired DSL (Dan) to upgrade my service. I am a certified safety inspector and have done work with National Grid and many contractors. Dan and his assistant were on time, on schedule, and on budget. Safety first! I would and have recommended DSL to many people since the work was done at my house.

Dan is great and professional and of course knowledgeable. For sure he will be my representative on all Electric Work on my 3 tenants in Western NY. DSL uses quality material on the wiring and safety is the most important. So considering cost would important but needs to consider reasonable quote. Very low cost quote may lead lower quality of material that causes safety problem. Anyway, highly recommended.

DSL completed two service upgrades for me. One in the Town of Hamburg, NY and the other in the Town of Orchard Park, NY. Service at my home in the Town of Hamburg was completed on 3/20/18. The job was an electric panel upgrade from 100-200 amps. Dan and one helper arrived to complete the job. Both men were very professional and courteous. The installation was completed in a reasonable time however; the cleanup was not so good. There was a lot of debris left outside near the electric meter. It was a little muddy near the meter and unfortunately too much of it was tracked inside on my carpets. A 50 Amp breaker for the stove had been replaced with a 40 Amp breaker, when I asked about it, Dan said the length of the cable was too long for a 50 Amp breaker but not to worry as the 40 Amp would service the stove without a problem. That turned out to be the case and we haven't had any problem with the 40 Amp breaker, and for sure it is safer. On the other hand there was a 20 Amp breaker for the microwave oven that was replaced by a 15 Amp. I discovered this when the breaker tripped. I questioned Dan about it and he stated the wire would only allow for a 15 Amp (i.e. #14 wire). Later I discovered the wire was actually #12 and would in fact allow for a 20 Amp breaker. The inside wiring was very neat, however, the backboard was too short and should have been extended. Also, the inspector indicated that the box was a little too close to the water meter and the CO2 detector too close to the boiler combustion. A second service was completed at my daughter's home in the Town of Orchard Park on 3/21/18. This job was an electric panel upgrade from 100-150 amps. According to my daughter, Dan completed the job alone as she did not see anyone else with him. After inspection by the Orchard Park Electrical Inspector I was informed there were several deficiencies. The inspector said he would advise the electrician. When I spoke with Dan to make arrangements to have the corrections completed he made light of the deficiencies referring to the inspector as being nit-picky. Frankly I did not consider an oversized breaker (20 amps in place of a 15) and a missing ground as nit-picky. The code is the code and in my opinion if the job was done correctly there would have been no deficiencies. After being contacted by the inspector Dan did return and make the necessary corrections which were approved upon re-inspection. We have had no other problems with any of the work. I chose DSL because they had very good reviews and the price for the service was reasonable at a total cost of $3,725.00, however, I would not use them again nor would I recommend them to others.

Dan was extremely polite and notified us every step of the way of when to expect the National Grid to finalize the service. Price point was right in the ball park of our quote with no surprise in the end. We have peace of mind that the job was done right. We will be handing his business cards out to any family and friends that need an electrician.

DSL updated my electrical panel inside and outside of my home and were the consummate professionals while doing so. There were challenges presented due to an addition to my structure that were initially perplexing. Not only did the workers consult with the owner multiple times to solve the problem, but I was also contacted by the owner multiple times to review some of the possible solutions to the problem that might require them to dig into the walls and ceiling, causing structural damage. Eventually, the owner came out to assess the situation on site and was able to solve the problem without any structural damage and without leaving me with no electrical power to one room in my home and bringing my house up to code. I am incredibly appreciative of the high quality of customer service and dedication DSL Electric exemplified. I highly recommend them for anyone who has any electrical needs.

They handled everything including working with my local electrical company on my behalf to coordinate services on the same date, in addition to coordinating an electrical inspector to approve all the work when finished. DSL Electrical upgraded my electrical equipment and restored power to parts of my home that needed repair. They did a great job, at a reasonable price, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat!
