Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing
2 major complaints: 1. The quality of the work was unacceptable (our kitchen is still unfinished).2. The company is so big (it is now owned by Home Depot) that it really doesn't care.
1. The quality of the work was unacceptable:
- 6 of 24 cabinet doors were manufactured incorrectly. 4 were too big and would not close and 2 had the beading run horizontally instead of vertically.
- 15 of 19 drawers did not have the materials needing for installation. Therefore, at the end of 3 days of installation, our kitchen was still in chaos. And it would take at least 4-5 days until the proper parts could be shipped. Since this was our vacation home, and this was our last day at the house, it would be another two months until we could return to the chaotic kitchen. After talking to a number of people, since US Remodelers was bought by Home Depot, the quality of refacing has fallen dramatically.
2. The company is so big that it doesn't care about you:- On the third day of the installation, when the installer summarized all of the above errors, we called the national HotLine for US Remodelers in Texas. They put us on hold for about 10 minutes and then said that they had called the local installation head (who we had been talking to most of the day) to inform him of the errors. "We don't really handle this here" was the quote. There was no apology; no real care.
- We then talked to the Florida head of installation who basically said that it was not his fault as he does not open boxes shipped from the factory. But once the new parts were shipped he would look in the new boxes. He also said that we were lucky to have him store these new parts since we would not be returning for two months. No apology; no real caring.

Hardware & Home Improvement Stores, Carpet Installation + 1 more
We ordered the carpet 3 weeks ago and salesperson from the carpet department called us 2 weeks later to say that carpet was back ordered. Therefore it was not available and installation would be delayed. Needless to say, we are facing company for the holiday with bare floors because we ripped up old carpet and pad and moved furniture in order to avoid additional charges (they do it, they charge extra). They called us this past Friday to say the carpet was available and that they could install upcoming Tuesday (today). They were supposed to be here between 12 and 3, arrived 3:55 and installed the carpet in both rooms in about an hour. Looks good, but aggravating delivery & installation delays make me say if we can't carry it out of the store with us, we will go elsewhere. This will be the 3rd time this type of backorder/unavailability/delivery mess-up has happened (other 2 times were from another location). Of course leaving work to sit and wait costs us $$, too.

Hardware & Home Improvement Stores, Door Service
The end result was great. The door looks good, Home Depot did great work, but it took so long. It was weeks before they came out just to do measurements, then weeks longer to come out and do it. I would use them again if they were more responsive.

The workers at Home Depot were very friendly. They helped me immensely. I didn't know what I was doing without them. I feel they are very knowledgeable in their products, so they were a good choice to go with.

Carpet Installation
I would hire the installers again, but I will never buy any merchandise from Home Depot ever again. It took over 2 months to get the carpet, I ordered on May 17. It was finally installed on July 21st. No cooperation from manager at store with this issue.

Roofing
The employees Home Depot sent out couldn't speak English so it was difficult to communicate with them. However, they did a great job repairing the shingles. I would recommend them to others.
