It was easy to schedule the work; as a matter of fact A to Z called to schedule the work almost as soon as I bought the deal on Angie's List. The plumber showed up exactly as scheduled. I forget exactly how much the total bill was, but it was somewhere around $400 before the Angie's List discount. I cannot fault the quality of the work or the professionalism of the plumber, but the charge seemed excessive for just one hour's work with no materials consumed and no sophisticated equipment being used.
Description of Work: My master bathroom sink and bathtub drains were running slow. I had A to Z Statewide Plumbing clear the drains. I used an Angie's List coupon to pay part of the charges.

Please see above statement. They may be great plumbers but this visit went sour.
Description of Work: We signed up for X amount of hours of plumbing services for $99 special deal for $299 woth of plumbing work. Once they were at our home they stated that a simple drain cleaning would be 5 hours of labor and would cost us over additional $300.00. We had the plumber call the office and they were able to bring that amount down to an additional $180. It was a simple snaking of a kitchen drain which has been done before in the past in 45 minutes. For the heck of it, we asked how much it would be to put a washer in a dripping tub faucet and they stated that they would need to replace the entire fixtures in my bathroom at a cost starting at $700.00 - $1000.00. The fixtures were fine-- they stated but a little old.

Fast service from the time to the actual service. I don't remember the date but I do remember the service man not only fixed the drippy loose faucet (in an older condo) he repaired a brocken "gasket" that I didn't notice was leaking under the sink. (Evidenced once he moved the junk I had stored under the sink). No charge for that. Polite and friendly.

Work quality was excellent, and the workmen were both very courteous, kind and helpful. From a sales standpoint, however, I was not comfortable. I had bought their Angie's special deal of $99 for $299 worth of service, but right off the bat when I called to schedule the work they said I'd have to pay an additional fee just to have someone come out to estimate the job. I complained and they agreed to waive this charge. When the workmen arrived I showed them the various jobs I wanted done (some urgent, most not urgent) to see what would fit into the $299 budget. It soon became clear that no matter which combination of jobs I chose, additional money would have to be added to the bill. Apparently $299 does not go far in the plumbing world, so I spent an additional $200 beyond the price of the $99 "deal".

The A to Z Statewide Plumbing was a company that i called in a great time of need due to a large leak form an old water heater from the previous home owner. I called and they sent a plumber that not only gave advise on the replacement of the heater but was able to replace the heater with a better and bigger one at the same price. The plumber worked on the problem and replaced the heater with such skill that as a police officer, I am usually mindful of service people in my home. The plumber performed his work, cleared the used heater, and cleaned the area before finishing the project. I'm very satisfied with this company.

They were expensive but they were good. The problem was not fixed. They told me they had to use the camera to diagnose what the problem was and they said that the camera would cost around $1000 so I have to go with another company which found the problem. They were very professional and the used shoe covers which for me is very important. They were on time. They were good. The problem was it is a big company and they are very expensive.

Great, I called them and they were here in a couple of hours. They would not give me a quote on the phone but told me $429 when they got here. I told them I had already called one of their competitors who gave me a quote on the phone for $265 but would not be out till 4pm. (This was not an emergency so I had time) They said because I was a former customer they would match the quote but I also think, they did not want to lose the businsess which would not be too difficult for the time and efforLong story short they did they job very well, excellent customer service, gave me good explanations of what was going on and cleaned out the main pipe which had a paper blockage.

Do not count me as a satisfied customer.Overall went poorly.
Description of Work: After a late arrival , and no one to help him with the water heater installation, the workman installed the water heater to replace the old one in the attic. While he was outside sitting in his truck while the old one drained I heard the sound of running water in my living room and went running in to see water pouring out of my ceiling. It made a huge yellow stain that I am still staring at until this day as the solution was for me to paint over it myself. The water heater did not produce a hot bath that night so we called back to complain of stain and of lack of hot water. After talking to supervisor several times this company sent back the same worker that made the mess the first time around who then tried to convince me I did not need the bath to be hot as it used the heater too much and strained it and that I should try hot showers instead. I insisted he go up and adjust heater temperature. We have since adjusted it again ourselves. That was then I got fed up and did not want to discuss the stain on my ceiling with the man who had made it. I guess a can of white paint and a ladder is in my future. I do not even think I should have been asked, someone should have come and made the ceiling look as it did before.Very disappointed and now a little Angie's list shy.

To match the new tub and shower faucets I had on hand, he ordered a plate slightly larger than the hole and created a custom solution. Thanks Ricky!
Description of Work: I needed a really good, long-term, but temporary fix to a problem with my tub and shower's pipes leaking inside the wall. I had had another plumbing company come out before and all they did was diagnose and destroy. The result was a huge gaping hole in the tile accessing the diverter valve. As I was not planning on fully renovating the entire shower in the near future, I really needed a quick, semi-permanent fix. The plumber replaced the shower and tub fittings and found an innovative solution to the gaping hole.

They worked very diligently. They were very respectful of our property and worked efficiently. They worked in a manner that allowed us to always have access to a restroom in the house throughout the entire process. Ted, Trevor, and Laz were the crew that came to our home each day. They worked long hours to get the project completed in a timely manner. The inspector that came out to check the work found no issues. Anyone who uses this company will be pleased.

The plumber did a good job and got the job done. I just thought the price was a bit exorbitant. But, this company does know their stuff and their quality is very good.
Description of Work: I first used this company because I purchased a Big Deal to get some plumbing work done $99 for $299. I needed to get a bathtub with a slow drain fixed and to install a new kitchen sink food grinder/disposal. He did a decent job but the cost was an additional $307. The 2 jobs cost $606 minus the $299. They are very expensive.

am not sure why, but this company has really slipped in service, dependability, and availability since last year. I have several properties and have called several times for emergency service and they are not able to get someone to me in a timely manner, so I have used some one else. Nevertheless, I decided to hire them to replace a sewer line for me, which they originally told me they would have to schedule a week out. I was trying to get it done before Thanksgiving, and then decided I would have to wait till after since the celebration was at my house that year. They said they had to schedule a few days out to get the permit and couldn't do it before Thanksgiving, so I told them I wanted to do it right after Art Basel on December 10. They told me they would try to get to it that week, but most likely it would be the next week, but no later than Monday. I had the check ready for them from the first of December, but they did not get anybody by to pick it up until Dec 5. The next week on the 11th. they had one of the employees call me and tell me that his mother was in the hospital and he couldn't get to pull the permit that day as he'd hoped, but I couldn't cancel because he has already ordered some things. I called the office and spoke to Bonnie and someone else, telling them I really wanted the work started right away, and I have renters coming wends the 19th, and asked isn't there anyone else that can pull the permit. I considered this emergency service, because I rent out the house and if the problem isn't fixed the sewer will back up in the house on renters. It seemed apparent to me that they were preparing me to make excuses for not starting work promptly already, and I made it clear that this would not be okay with me. I felt stuck, becausee I had already given him a deposit and he had said he already ordered parts. I am not sure if I believe that his mothers being in the hospital was keeping him from working at all this week, but even if it was the reason I went with a company that was not a one man show is so that if one man was out - someone else would cover. Anybody could pull a permit, but this company thought it would be best to wait for him, in spite of my urgent need to fix the problem of sewage backing up in my living room. They could have got a secretary to pull a permit. Friday around noon they called and said they just found out my deposit check bounced that morning. As it turns out, I had first got a cashiers check for AtoZ for the entire $5200.00. by the time they arrived, I had lost and cancelled this check, and it had not been properly credited at the bank yet. in any case, when I called at noon and assured I could give them the money that day, they still would not send someone to meet me at the city to take payment and pull the permit. I brought a new cashiers check to the office, but it seems the guy with all the paperwork was still unavailable. They started telling me about the other emergencies they had a Sawgrass mall, etc...but I think my emergency was first and I was on the emergency waiting list before these people. I never got a voice mail, e-mail, or text message that the check was a problem, and even if it was - I have done a lot of business with this company and they knew I needed the problem fixed and would come through with payment before commencement. I am disappointed that someone made the decision to pull from my job to handle another, and I think the check was just an excuse for what they were alredy doing - putting other peoples emergencies before mine. THis company needs to hire some quality people to replace the good people they lost if they want to keep any business. They will have to really surprise me in this upcoming job for me to consider using them again. I should have at least got a e-mail, text message, or voice mail to alert me of the problem, and I had requested you to pull the permit as soon as possible a The office staff sai they didnt want me to be disappointed by their service, but if thats how they feel they should keep to their promise of trying to move your service to a sooner date rather than squeezing other jobs in before yours and making you wait longer. You need to work to solve customer problems for a good reputation, not make excuses. If its true that you told your employee to sit in the office for 4 hours today instead of puling my permit due to NSF -after as much work as we have done together and are planning to do - that was a poor business decision. Some companies make excuses, and some companies solve problems.
Description of Work: This company seems to have lost its good plumbers and is no longer reliable or dependable. Not only that, I chose to use them even though their estimate was $1800.00 more than the lowest estimate I got! However, this company has really slipped in service, dependability, and availability since last year...I am not sure why. I have several properties and have called several times for emergency service and they are not able to get someone to me in a timely manner, so I have used some one else. Response from A to Z Statewide Plumbing
Good Morning Ms. [Member Name Removed], My name is Aaron and I started with A to Z Statewide Plumbing a little over a year ago, unfortunately after your less than perfect experience with our company. I know it has been a few years, but, I wanted to reach out and see if there was anything I could do to win back your business. I noticed you used our services a few more times after this specific work done and wanted to know if they were suitable. From the notes I was able to access, I see there were issues that you mentioned in your review with the initial NSF deposit check. Unfortunately, from a business standpoint and especially given the amount of the job, a NSF check would hold up all aspects of any job large or small and it is policy and procedure to place on hold any work associated in this instance. I also see read that you were on a very tight time frame and wanting to have work completed ASAP. Again, our office and staff were only following P&P. It seems miscommunication was also a major factor on both parts during this transaction and I personally apologize and take responsibility for the lack of awareness of the office during this time. I do want to state that we made more than enough attempts to contact you during this time to resolve the NSF cashiers check in order to move along the process. Again, I hope not to drum up old memories, but to move forward and ask for an opportunity to better serve you. I would love to send you a voucher for $ OFF services to win you back. If you were to be interested, please contact me at 1.800.930.1123 to discuss at your convenience. At Your Service, Aaron A to Z Statewide Plumbing

I had used this company before and called when I had a plumbing leak in an upstairs bathroom making a wet spot on the ceiling below. They could not get someone out in a timely manner - I had to wait 2 days. When the guy did come, he said he could not address the problem because it was behind tile, and he wasn't allowed to risk breaking the tile, even with my consent. He charged me the $98.00 to come out, which he said he would later apply to the cost to fix it if I had him return once I had the wall opened. I called another plumber and he broke in the wall and fixed if for about $145.00, to the 2 day wait for the first guy, and the $98.00 credit toward a future repair were a waste of time.

They gave me an estimate of $700 for 1 hour worth of work. Angie's list should stop listing people who come to you with a price list that does not correspond to the number of hours needed to perform the work. $700 for work that takes one hour. Seriously, how are they getting these positive reviews?

Dear Angie's Member, I wanted to touch base and introduce myself. My name is Aaron and I started with A to Z Statewide Plumbing a little over a year ago, however, after your poor experience with our company. At this time we were working with Angie's List on a Big Deal that was drawn up and rolled out less than perfectly. Occasionally, we have a review pop up dating back to this time and there is still nothing great to say about it. I did see that you chose not to have work performed in this case. I hope you got this resolved and are satisfied. At the end of the day, I wanted to see if I could win back your business, or, at least say I tried. I can assure you, the top ratings we receive are due to the integrity, hard work, and dedication we place into every job. I would like to send you a voucher for $ OFF. Please call 1.800.930.1123 to discuss. At Your Service, Aaron A to Z Statewide Plumbing

So at that point, I called the company Manager to ask what the heck was going on. He said that they only work from their national price book which is a standard in the industry and that everything is packaged to include labor. He said that the $30 in parts was identified for my information, so they took the $429 amount and subtracted the $30 for parts and said the labor was $399 (For Less Than One Hour of Service). They then applied my $299 certificate, leaving a balance due of $30 for parts and $100 additional for labor. After my discussion with him, he said in order to address my dissatisfaction, which I clearly expressed to him, he would waive the balance due. Bottom line is that I should have asked more questions up front. I have never had an experience such as this with any professional or tradesman in the past.
Description of Work: BEWARE I purchased a deal from Angie's for $299 worth of plumbing services. Since I jhad several little things to do, I scheduled an appointment. They called ahead and arrived on time. The first priority was to replace the internals of an older toilet. The plumber said he had to go by their national sales book and the cost would be $429. I told him he was out of his mind and asked for a parts breakdown, which he said came to $30. I told him that the parts were OK and to charge an hour of labor, which my prior experience with plumbers is $90-$125 per hour. I did not ask him specifically on the hourly rate and he did not volunteer it. Mistake on my part! He spent less than an hour completing that and then we asked him to move on to the next small project. He then told me that I had used up my $299 coupon for services for less than one hour of time and there was actually a balance due.

Planned to apply this voucher to the replacement of 30 gallon domestic water heater (small condo) with a same-height, higher-capacity unit (at least 38 gallons). Called A-to-Z for an estimate and to discuss options for our application (very small closet, water heater on bottom, A/C unit on top). Was quoted an outrageously high price for a turnkey job (water heater, all materials and labor $900+), from which the value of Big Deal voucher ($299) would be deducted. Further, if technician came on-site to evaluate the job but was not hired, a minimum service charge would apply. Asked for a breakdown of the original materials vs labor quote, and if we could choose/purchase our own water heater elsewhere, then apply the voucher to A-to-Z's labor. The technician/sales rep said this was not a problem, but labor quote was $400+, with any "extras" (read: any delays, unexpected difficulties) billed at equally outrageous hourly rate ($90+/hour). Total job would have been at least $700, with no ceiling or not-to-exceed price. Ultimately (one week later), we awarded the job to a licensed plumber with 25 years experience, who came on-site in advance to inspect and evaluate the job site, discuss our options, make of any potential problems in advance (no charge) -- then prepared a detailed bill of materials and price quote, delivered and installed a 40-gallon low-boy (6-year mfrs' warranty bumper to bumper", 1-year labor warranty), all new braided-stainless steel hoses (instead of copper pipes), relocated adjacent A/C (water-source heat pump) lines -- all parts (billed at wholesale plumber's supply invoice cost), labor, delivery and removal of old unit, taxes = $490 total. The entire job completed for approximately what A-to-Z quoted for labor alone. All of this work was tightly coordinated on very short notice with our HVAC contractor who replaced the water source heat pump the very next day. All work was completed on time and EXACTLY as quoted. All materials were invoiced at plumber's supply warehouse invoice costs (copies of EVERY invoice provided for our records for warranty purposes). As a result of this experience, after the water heater project was completed, I was reluctant to engage A-to-Z's services for several less urgent but equally important plumbing repairs/tuneups around this condo and my other property, and just realized this week that the voucher's expiration date has passed. So, we're out $99 and received ZERO value. Reading other member reviews of this contractor, there are other troubling examples of lowball quotes turned into much larger invoices on-site, and specific complaints of $99 Big Deals morphing into huge unplanned plumbing expenses because of the outrageous hourly rate and/or "generously" priced fix-price jobs with very tight scope of work, leading to runaway add-ons. As a result of our own negative experience, as well as those of other reviewers, I cannot in good conscience recommend A-to-Z to Angie's List members.
Description of Work: No services were performed. I purchased a "Big Deal" ($99 for up to $299 worth of professional plumbing services). $99 out of pocket. No value received. A TOTAL LOSS.

Visit went well. Received confirmation phone call and scheduled appointment. The service tech called when he was on his way and arrived on time. We reviewed the services he was going to perform and how he was going to proceed. After the service was completed, he reviewed what he did and what he found. He also made some recommendations for the future should the water heater fail. He provided his card and left the paid invoice copy.
Description of Work: They inspected the water heater connections, elements and drained the unit.

Called to set up appointment for next day between 12noon and 5pm. On day of appointment, called at about 230pm to reconfirm and was told he'll show up between 3-5pm. Called again at 540pm. Called back by a supervisor, told me rep was delayed due to previous job. Rep arrived around 640pm, advised me the faucet needed replacement(actually leaky supply line). Had to buy a new one in a hurry for next day replacement. Got fixed next day, he was very courteous and professional, but I thought the price was exorbitant for 20 minutes work.
Description of Work: Kitchen faucet leakage underneath sink.

There was backup into the tubs and toilets late Sunday night, with water running onto bathroom floor, so we wanted someone out first-thing Monday morning. The technician, Luis, was very professional and he showed up slightly early. He gave a thorough examination before giving an estimate. After we agreed to have the service, he climbed the roof and used an auger to unclog the main. He showed us the debris that caused the backup, and ran the auger back down twice more to make sure he got everything out.
Description of Work: Unclog the main drain, which was backing up into the tub and toilets.
