O'Hara Landscaping

The tech was great. He was professional, called before arriving, and tested the system before leaving to mKe sure everything was fixed and running well.

It went badly....see above.

The service technician was prompt, courteous and competent. The work was well done and the sprinkler coverage was much improved after the work was complete.

The provided did NOTHING. I purchased a Big Deal from this provider on Angie's List. After 2 months of not being contacted by the provider, I called them. I was told that they are not honoring the Big Deal, that it would be up to me to contact Angie's List for a refund of my money, and that they hoped I would give them a positive review on Angie's List.

Purchased 50 for 100 deal they had. Took a very long time for them to contact me after purchase. I was not present for the repair but they called to give me a quote. The quote seemed a touch high but since he was there I authorized him to do the work and leave a bill. The area where the work was performed was left very sloppy, glue on the pipes and ground, garbage left around the area, and the quality of work was very rough. The next day when I turned the water on it was not working. They came back out to fix the issue. Again, I was not there but they called to tell me it was repaired. I did not use the system for about a week and when I did it worked, but they did not hook it back up to my timer. Rather then deal with calling a third time and waiting and went ahead and fixed it myself. Maybe if I had been present I would have had a different experience, but I would expect more attention to detail on a simple job like this.

I bought an Angie's List deal for $229.00 landscaping advice/planning and 8 man hours yard work. The first appointment I had scheduled was Eddie showed up, he sure seem quite knowledgble and seem promising. He said that I would recieved a proposal email on Monday which never came. I waited till Thurs and tried calling Eddie back, I did not hear anything back so I decieded to send an email, I think got a phone call from the owner saying that Eddie no longer worked for the company, and they did not have a desinger at the moment and recomeded to contact Angie's to get a refund which I've done. I don't think to penalize the company for Eddie's actions so I rated them a fair.

Workers showed up on time but had limited instruction as to their task. I had to personally direct much of the tasks contracted for.Unusually poor supervision by contractor--fortunately workers were cooperative.

I took the O'Hara's deal offered in June and immediately called the company for the landscape architect consultation. I was told Eddie would get back to me in July. He didn't. I emailed him with possible dates and no reply. By August, Eddie replied with a date in late August. He arrived on scheduled date, consulted with us, made notes and measured and left with a promise that a proposal would be forthcoming by the next Tuesday. After two weeks and no proposal, I emailed Eddie. When no reply was received, I called and left a message. After another 2 weeks, we left another email and the owner wrote to us that Eddie no longer worked for the company. I was willing to start over again but the owner called me a day later to explain that there was no one to fulfill the consultation and I should contact Angie's list for a refund.

Joseph was great. He fixed problems that three other 'experts' could not. I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with his work and attitude. Too bad the service industry does not have more fine young people like Joseph. Thank you.

given an estimat of $350 work was started and "completed" sprinkler system still did not work as discussed in estimate. came back with 2 more estimates. much much higher costs. Over $950 wanted to be paid on work that was NOT completed. I got fed up. will look elsewhere.

O'hara did a great job designing and installing landscaping in our front yard. The whole process was relatively quick and smooth. I would definitely recommend this company for any landscaping related work.

They were absolutely wonderful. First they came out and did an assessment and then today they finished all the work. They did a good job of explaining what they were going to do and then took the time to walk around the yard with me and show me exactly what they were going to do. They fixed 20 sprinkler heads in the yard and they have gone above and beyond with their services. I am extremely happy with the finished product and I also signed up to have them do quarterly maintence check on everything.

So far everything is fine: still in the design phase. Suggestions have been excellent. Will update this review when the work is done.

Still have been unable to get anything done with them. Right now they do not have a professional landscape design person . Had to let go the guy who came to my house. He was 2 hours late and flakey as all get out. I will try again this week to reschedual but they are having problems , also have had a death? in the company last week. May need a refund

Very poor, they said they fired Eddie and will no longer honor the deal.

I just got off the phone with a very nice gentleman from O'Hara. Unfortunately, the man who was running their landscaping division no called/no showed for every job he had scheduled. Since Eddie was running the division, they are no longer in service and cannot complete the job. I do not know if O'Hara had the information necessary to contact all of Eddie's customers but no one ever contacted me. I cannot blame the company entirely since Eddie was in charge of this division but there should have been some protocol in place so that customers were not left hanging with no information.

The technician was very courteous and knowledgeable. He worked quickly and resolved all of my issues.

They broke an irrigation line and I got a water bill for $290. When I called them the gentleman became very argumentative with me. I asked him to come look at it for himself. We dug it up and you could clearly see that it was hit with a shovel and cracked. They wanted to see past water bills and I gave them to him. They gave me a refund check of $155, however, I had asked for an Escolier. They said no problem and brought eight Jasmine plats with ladders in them. He left two or three people behind to do the work and none of them spoke English. They didn?t measure and nothing was straight. I went out there with a ruler to try to show them how it should be done. I called Danny and told him they didn?t draw lines and measure and it?s all c*** eyed. They also left the latter in the plants and it needed to come out. He came out and had an attitude with me and argued that he was doing it correctly. It looks terrible and they have no idea what they?re doing. I have another company in here right now re-doing the whole thing for another $1300.

The manager for the company's design department (Eddie listed on voucher) and I started conversations more than a month ago. We finally made an appointment - he cancelled the appointment and then wouldn't call me back to reschedule. I finally got an appointment. He came by on a Wednesday and said he would e-mail me on the following Monday with an estimate for the plants I requested and a design for the area. The following Wednesday I tried to call because I had not received an e-mail, left a voice mail. For a couple of days I kept trying to call with no answer. On the 6th of September I called their main office number and spoke with Eddie. My neighbor had done some yard work and I sent him an e-mail with photos and a request for a different plant than we had discussed. This was 9/9. I called their main office today to try to talk to him and found out he was fired. I spoke to the owner and he said they were so backed up with trying to figure out all of the contracts Eddie had going that he preferred me to ask for a refund. The slow response and lack of action from Eddie would have had me give them a D - depending on the final product, but they seem to be trying to get things figured out and I know they have had good reviews in the past since they were able to do the deal and I don't want to damage their ratings since I don't have enough information to give them a grade.

They were initally very responsive. They came out for the initial consultation quickly. However, they did not come back with a plan within the budget number I gave them. They did, however, redo the plan to one with an acceptable price level. I indicated precise requirements for the planting - NOT right against the foundation so that I could access Hurricane Shutters. I wanted to be at the installation to be sure that this requirement was met and scheduled a day with them which allowed me to be there. They came a day early, did NOT call me to tell me they were going to do the work, and then the DID (AGAINST INSTRUCTIONS) plant against the foundation. When I asked them to correct the problem, they declined and said I could trim them when the plants grew out. I would never use this company again.

Very fast at first and took good notes. Took a while to get estimate because they were so busy. We chose to use another more economical provider and do more work ourselves.

Joseph arrived on time and installed a new sprinkler timer and sprinkler heads. Unfortunately, he missed a couple of heads. I also had difficulty scheduling a service call several months later regarding a possible warrantee issue.

The technician was punctual, pleasant, competent, and thorough. The experience was a positive one.

When I called I talked to the owner, and he was very nice and apologetic, because his employee left his business. I am disappointed that this deal did not work out, but they have been kind in dealing with these issues.

They did apply what I paid for the Angie's List Big Deal against the repairs that needed to be made, but I really felt it was a bait-and-switch, especially when the tech told me that the services performed under the Big Deal were offered for free anyway. They were punctual, professional, and explained in detail the repairs that needed to be made, but given the circumstances I don't think I'd hire them again. The way they came to be on my doorstep was not exactly above board.
