O'Hara Landscaping

They installed a new Timer system and a new rain sensor. Dug up sprinkler heads., added a head, and replaced and adjusted the rest. Shortly after that , I noticed that the lawn didn't appear to be greening up. Checked automatic schedule, found what appeared to be loose wires at the top of the zone distributor. May have been knocked loose by something....called OHara back, they sent someopne the next day. Came home and found a brand new locked automatic timer box. The sprinklers went off the following morning, and I don't believe they have ever worked at well as they do now. I would highly recommend them for irrigation and sprinkler work.

It was great. The guy was very nice. He did what he said he would do and the price was fair. I ended up spending a little more.

It was a big deal purchase and it was okay. I liked them and they did not press me too hard about getting another system.. They were nice and courteous.

The scheduled service for sprinkler system tuneup is 12pm. I called the company at 12:15pm when the technician didn't show up, and the woman over the phone said I need to give them 30 mins (grace period) due to traffic, etc. I called again at 12:30pm and a younger woman picked up the phone said she would check where is the technician and call me back. I never received her call back. I had to call again at 1pm, and the first woman (the older one) said "They are on their way. I don't know what else you want me to do. I am not in the van with them. They said they are on their way." I said politely that I simply need a notification to know if I should keep waiting. 10 mins later, Derek, the technician called me and said that there was a huge confusion about my appointment but he is heading over to my place since he was in the area. At 2pm, Derek called me again since he couldn't find my house, because the office gave him the WRONG address. When Derek finally showed up, he was friendly and helpful, and reset the sprinkler system really efficiently. Obviously, if the first woman I talked to had done her job to check with the technician both about the appointment and the address in the first place, none of this would have happened. They have serious mismanagement and miscommunication problems. At the end, the technician was 2 hours 20 mins late due to mismanagement (I don't blame the technician), and I was treated rather rudely over the phone. I had to cancel work meetings due to the office's tardiness and unprofessionalism. Very poor customer service; it's a shame.

They were problematic as far as what they thought the Big Deal covered as opposed to the work that they provided and they tried to charge us more. They did not fully understand the coupon. The technician that came out was good and the quality was good. The technician did not have the issue, it was the company themselves.

As with other members I found Ohara thru their advertisements on Angies. I bought the coupon and then some, and had the same experience. Calls never returned, promises not kept and the constant effort to upsell when they finally come by. They try to sell irrigation services and pest control if they get a chance. They abruptly closed their landscape design and left all of us Angies folks swinging in the wind, if that wasn't bad enough when I called to give them a second chance it took a full week and more than a few calls to get a response, when they finally did they sent David by the house. We wanted to pick up where we left off with Eddie only to hear David say they would not honor any agreements Eddie made (labor rates and plant guarantees in particular). If that wasn't aggravating enough when we asked what they would be willing to do he kept referring to another fella named Alex and told me he'd call by the end of the day, you guessed it. They were excellent in unsolicited contact however, the irrigation fella stopped by unannounced and drove the dogs crazy while I was at work. If you want to work for your landscaper these are the guys. My advice to Ohara is to get it together before you advertise and honor your commitments, or the landscape division wont be the only one to close.

The ad was somewhat misleading because it lead me to believe that the deal was for a tuneup of my entire sprinkler system but the $47 was for an inspection and then they turn around and tell you what it's going to cost to repair all of the issues. So it ended up costing me about $225 dollars. The guys did great work, they were very efficient. There were 2 men who were well trained, very professional and very helpful. But the promo ad needs to be revised. They came out the first week in September and they had all the parts on the truck and they were very professional. It's a little pricey but they got everything done.

Technician called in advance to let me know they were on their way and were on time for our appointment. After reviewing the issues with our irrigation system, the technician went right to work. They worked cleanly and efficiently and demonstrated the successful operation of the system and all of his repairs prior to leaving. Will definitely use O'Hara again, should the need arise!

Bought a deal here for tune-up, I knew I needed repairs, they showed up on time, very professional, did repairs well, charged what I think is a reasonable price for what they did

They said they no longer offer this service.

I purchased a deal for $20 to have my lawn mowed, edged and blown. O'Hara was very prompt in reaching out to me, and the crew came the next day. They did the job quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and it was great. Neat, well-done, and quick. I will be reaching out to O'Hara's to schedule regular lawn maintenance!

He was extremely late (2.5 hours) for the appointment with no phone call. He was unable to turn on my sprinkler system and told me that my timer was bad and needed to be replaced. He also said the pump might be bad. He wrote me an estimate for $350 for a new timer system and told me that if the pump was bad the approximate repair cost for the pump was $250.00. My son had a look and in 1 minute used the proper switches, the system turned on and works fine. All I needed was for the sprinkler heads to be replaced or adjusted. This was a Big Deal purchase, since he didn't provide any service I would like a refund. I'm not happy about the way Angie's list does it's Big Deal promotions. You have to pay before you even speak to the provider with very little information about the provider. Not sure I will use the Big Deal promotion again.

The $59.95 tune up was as advertised and done well. I did a walk through with specific instructions for alterations and broken heads in the system. I was given an estimate of $200 which I reviewed and agreed to. Then I got a call from my wife stating "don't forget about the rock garden". Yeah, I had. There was a reciprocation sprinkler head on a 3.5 foot pipe that worked well but was unsightly. I showed it to the technician and he was to cut it to 1 foot and install a simple pop up sprinkler head with a 350 degree pattern. He did this and brought me the final bill which was now $240. I thought $40 was excessive for cutting a pvc pipe and installing a $5 pop up sprinkler. The work was done very well and except for the last add on which we did not discuss price before performing I have no complaints.

It went great. Initially getting the white fly Rx took some time but they came and were in communication with me. Joseph my rep from O'Hara's irrigation division was prompt, courteous and very helpful. I engaged their services as a result.

It took them forever to come out. He sent someone out and they gave me an hour on consultation. After that, they wanted to charge me an extra $1500.00 so I did not use this company.

this is an update. I have tried for months to get them to come check the dead and dying plants and grass. they have been completely non responsive, even breaking appointments when I finally got someone to agree to come look

I purchased a deal titled "$229 for eight man-hours of landscaping labor and one hour landscaping design consultation" in mid-August. Within a day I got a message from O'Hara Services. They gave me a phone number and told me to call someone named Eddie to schedule the work. I tried several times over the past four weeks, and could not get through. Yesterday they sent me this message: "Cynthia, I am sorry to inform you but we no longer have Eddie employed with our company. You are more than welcome to refund your money at this time as we have no one to cover that department. Again, I am very sorry that we cannot fulfill this deal that you bought. -- O'Hara Landscape" The company responded quickly and with sincerity. I'm not sure I understand how a landscaping business only had one guy honoring the deal, however I can't fault their communication. I asked the company to please process the refund, but they said it has to go through Angie's List. That's a bit inconvenient, but as long as I get my money back, I suppose it's fine. All in all, a bit disappointing.

It went really well, they did a good job. I was happy with the job that they did.

Two workers arrived and offered various sprinkler services. The coupon was viewed more like a new customer lead than a service call. They did repair and replace some of my sprinklers. They were courteous and efficient. I ended up paying them for their extra effort and I would use them in the future.

Got to the the gutters on the top floor which were difficult for me to do by myself. They did a good job.

The gentleman arrived..took photos and discussed what I wanted..he said he would email plans at the end of the week..but did not..I called the office..then I got an email of proposed plans..I wrote back..did not hear for two weeks..then new plans were emailed..I emailed him with questions and never heard from him again..

A guy named Eddie came out to consult on the project I wanted done and said he would email me any estimates in a few days. A month later after trying to email and get in touch with him through the phone number he had given me and no response, I looked up the company name and called the office line directly. They told me he had been let go and that they are unable to fulfill any of their Angie's List offers.

To this date no call no refund.
