We did not use their service, we decided to go with another service provider. We asked for pull out draws, but they did not give us cost on.
Description of Work: They came out to give us an estimate on kitchen remodeling (counter tops, ceramic tile)

My husband's boss used Kitchen Bath & Beyond (KBB) for their kitchen. And then their fireplace. And then their bathrooms. His boss was SO thrilled with their work, and shared before, during, and after photos of all of the work. They had also raved about the projects always being on time (or done sooner), and the quality of the products and the workmanship. This is how we first learned of KBB - we weren't Angie's List members at the time. We decided to get an estimate from KBB. This was our first (major!) remodel, and naturally, we were a little nervous about the whole process. Immediately upon meeting Karen and Danny, I felt very comfortable with them. Both personable and professional, they came to our house, took measurements, and discussed ideas with us. They listened to our pain points regarding the previous bathroom, as well as what we were hoping to achieve with the new bathroom. We discussed some ideas on the spot, and they were very open to some of my ideas, which we decided against because it wouldn't have worked space-wise... and I'm glad we didn't go with my ideas. This is exactly why you hire professionals for stuff like this :) In our follow-up meeting to discuss the estimate, Karen and Danny were very patient with us. We are a little indecisive, but thankfully, Karen has excellent vision and gave us great guidance (without being pushy - everything was ultimately our decision). We knew that this was the company to go with - we did not feel like we were getting "swindled" and between the great comments from my husband's boss and the wonderful personalities of Karen and Danny, we knew we were in good hands. It's amazing the little details that make a big difference. I work from home a lot, and the guys who did the work were not noisy (except when they had to be, like demolition day, which is understandable). And they are such nice guys and hard workers. It was impressive how much progress was made each day. And my favorite part.... every day, they laid down rugs from the front door to our master bath, so as to not track in dirt. Every day, they completely cleaned the work area before leaving, and picked the rugs back up. I know these seem like minor details, but I was impressed by this level of care. Today is the last day of the project, and the bathroom looks AMAZING. Between the porcelain tile and granite and open shower plan... we are in love. We are so happy with the quality of the work, and to top it off, they are finishing about a week earlier than planned. I already have plans for KBB to redo our other bathrooms, our fireplace, and of course, our kitchen. Karen and Danny have a lot of experience under their belts, and it really shows. They are a great team and we are so happy that we chose KBB. I highly, highly recommend KBB for your remodeling needs!!!!
Description of Work: COMPLETE master bathroom remodel, including: - remove bathtub - reshape shower (much bigger, deluxe!!) - twice as large, move and extend the wall, add glass from wall to top of shower, had to move the drain, add a shower head, two niches (totally awesome... with granite ledges!) - tile new shower - tile floor... LOVE the tile selection - new cabinets (beautiful wood!) + granite top, new sinks + hardware - granite step in shower, granite ledge under window - remove medicine cabinet - add exhaust fan above shower - add light above shower - remove old toilet in toilet room, add new toilet - tile floor in toilet room - new exhaust/light in toilet room - new lights It was literally a complete gut and remodel. Our bathroom was ghetto before... and now it's like a spa!!!

Excellent results! Very Happy!
Description of Work: The project involved renovatining two 1980 bathrooms. The project involved installing wall cabinets(maple wood), tile floors, deep vanity base cabinets, undermount sinks with granite countertops. One bathroom involved beautiful tile in the showerbath and another bathroom included and new toilet. The work was high quality, professional, and reasonable in cost. I am very satisified with the results and with the cordial and professional service. I appreciated the personalized service and would recommend Kitchen Bath and Beyond to anyone who is interested in a quality renovation! Mary Rasor

Primary reasons we did not use: price estimate ($35,000) and the length of time to complete work from start to finish. It may seem "picky" but the lovely woman who did the estimate and who we visited at the showroom wears too much perfume and it was difficult to endure with fragrance allergy.

Karen was great with suggestions regarding the style of cabinets as well as the flooring ideas. They had many options available in their show room to choose from. We went to the granite yard and picked out our countertop which was a fun experience. All of the employees were very neat and tried to keep everything as clean as possible during the remodeling. They were very good at keeping our furniture protected from the dust and debris on a daily basis. Our condo association commented on the cleanliness of the company when they arrived with their supplies - they covered both the elevator floor as well as the carpet from the elevator to the condo doorway which was not what our association has seen with all other companies. Our condo was in disarray but we were always able to funciton at the end ot the day. Our stove and refrigerator became very mobile but we always had access to them when the workers left each day.The entire project took 4 weeks which was what they hoped but they always told us to expect up to 6 weeks. We were very pleased with their work and professionalism throughout this remodelling process. We love our new kitchen and flooring!!Unfortunatly Tropical storm Debbie caused some water damage to our new wood floors this spring. We contacted Karen and although they don't do repair work they did order the wood for us and are working with our repair team to ensure that our new wood matches our current floor. We definitely would recommend them for any remodeling job you may have.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen totally remodeled with new cabinetry, granite countertops, and sink. In addition, our entire condo (except baths) had carpet and tile flooring removed and wood flooring installed throughout.

Karen and Danny arrived at our home at the designated time. We were very impressed with them from the start and continued throughout the project. Both were very friendly and so very knowledgeable of what our kitchen needed. The ideas they both suggested were very impressive. They asked us to visit their beautiful showroom wherein the construction process was explained step by step to us. The project commenced May 16th with completion scheduled for June 6th. The punchlist at the end of the job was nothing. The first day, the kitchen was completely demolished and what a sight that was (lol). The workers kept the dust to a minimum which we were very happy about. They covered the foyer tile and carpet before entering our home to prevent damages as they brought in material and equipment. Each day following May 16th, they worked extremely hard to complete the job. Karen and Danny did not leave the workers alone while working this project. They were constantly on site to ensure everything was going according to plan. They kept in contact with us to insure we were happy with the progress. At the end of each day, all material was placed in an orderly manner and not all over the place. We made several changes in the middle of the project and Karen and Danny never skipped a beat. They quickly adjusted the changes and the job did not suffer a delay. They were with us every step of the way in choosing the materials for the kitchen. We changed our minds a couple of times but that did not matter to them. Their only concern was to make us happy. Karen and Danny are great contractors but more than that, they are great people. They were personable and always made us feel as though we were the only clients they had. All our emails were answered promply. Each time we placed a call to them, they were always pleasant and wanted to make sure we were happy. This was truly a great experience for us. Our kitchen is absolutely beautiful. All of our friends can only say WOW!!!! We could not have chosen a better company or better people to perform this work for us. By the way, the job was completed June 6th. Karen said it would be completed in 3 weeks and they did it...right on time! GREAT JOB!!!! WE WILL DEFINITELY USE THEIR SERVICES AGAIN REAL SOON TO REMODEL OUR BATHROOMS. Charles & Margaret

The experience with Kitchen Bath & Beyond was the kind of experience you hope to have when doing a project in your home. Karen, Danny and their team did an amazing job on my kitchen and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful result. There were many reasons I chose them. They were very professonal, they made their own cabinets, I could pick the slab of granite I wanted, they did all the work start to finish and didn't subcontract out, I would have my own personal designer to help me select what would look best and most importantly their prices were competitive for such high quality. Karen and Danny came to my house, promptly at our appointment time, did the measurements and talked to me about what I was looking for. When they presented me their quote, they included everything I wanted and in fact added some special touches. Karen suggested going with a counter depth refrigerator to give us more space, enclosing the refrigerator, adding some additional drawers, and also putting some panels on the side of the cabinets to give it a polished look. They also presented it to me in a 3-d image of my kitchen, which really helped me see what it would look like. Once we started working on the design of my kitchen I realized how wonderful it was to have Karen as my personal designer. I had a gereral idea of what I wanted, but realized choosing what would look best together was a challenge. Karen was able to narrow down my choices, stear me away from some things that wouldn't look good, but still give me the freedom to make the final decision. When picking out my backsplash I had a real hard time making a decision. Karen walked me through it and picked one she thought was my style and would look best in the kitchen. Not being able to visualize it I went ahead and trusted her choice. It turned out beautiful and I can honestly say the backsplash is one of my favorite designs in the kitchen. I can't express how much I appreciate the help she provided. When the work started I was given a 5 week time frame, but was told by Danny it shouldn't take that long, and it didn't. His crew was here promptly every morning, worked the entire day and were able to complete it in 2 weeks. During the process I realized how nice it was to have them do all the work and not subcontract out. During the demo of the kitchen a plumbing issue was discovered due to the builder. They were able to get a plumber out promptly to fix the issue, and his crew was able to work around it and not miss a beat. I can only imagine how this could have presented a problem if they had not been able to complete other tasks. Watching them do the work was methodical and they were very efficient. I could tell they had a daily plan which used their time wisely. This ultimately was the reason they were able to finsh ahead of schedule. Danny was here regularly checking on the work and making sure even the smallest detail was perfect. My kitchen looks beautiful. I couldn't be happier with my kitchen and would reccommend them to anyone remodeling their kitchen. Jill & Russell Nally

Excellent. From the first minute I met Karen, she brought personality into the project. I knew the difference between others, coming into our home just wanting to sell cabinets and make a quick buck, and the way Karen displayed care and passion for her customers. She brings a warm welcome to a business agreement. Her creative design depicted the best design offered with the highest quality product. Her ability to fit multiple cabinets: sliding drawers, multiple shelving, spice rack, tilt drawer, refrigerator wrap and island gave me the most cabinets ( all wood - real wood!) for the small space and limited budget. The granite is beautiful - the best and most quality product for our money. Her work crew were quiet and meticulous. They were extremely patient and respectful with our "in the center of the work area" animals. Working around our busy schedules, this crew set up the "saw area" in the driveway. In and out of our home, they were careful with maintaining security while providing blankets for protection in the walkways. Everyone knows how a make shift kitchen is unbearable, however, the timing to complete this project was earlier than expected. Much earlier! This was a bonus. In addition to this company fixing a cabinet an outside contractor damaged was also unexpected. Kitchen Bath and Beyond was under no obligation to repair that damage since they were not affiliated with the installer. The compassion Karen and Danny demonstrates integrity in what customer service means. The price, $12,300.00, was the same as the contract first stated. This team went above and beyond what was expected or paid to do. This must be what defines " Beyond" in their company name. Thank you Karen, Danny and crew! I will recommend your company to my family, friends and beyond!
Description of Work: In early March, Karen from Kitchen Bath and Beyond responded to an inquiry for estimates. She arranged a date to come to our home and take measurements. Within the week, she contacted to arrange a meeting to go over the recommendations and costs. I met in her showroom on Sligh Avenue in Tampa to get the estimate and ideas for remodeling our kitchen. Karen took the time to communicate effectively ensuring she understood what I wanted in a new kitchen and what I could afford. Once I returned with my husband to her showroom, we entered into contract with a time frame for completion on or before April 7. A date was set for the following week to begin March 12. Karen and crew arrived as scheduled and the kitchen was gutted out all the way to the studs and concrete block. The crew arrived around 8:30 am each day thereafter and prior to leaving, left the work area clean. Our home was secured each day upon their exit. Equipment being utilized was either removed each day or placed conveniently in an area out of our way. The project was completed 2 weeks earlier than scheduled. Our new appliances were installed (by other contracted installers) and damage was done to the top cabinet over the microwave by the installer. Karen and Danny sent out one of their crew to fix the damage at no additional cost. (Wendy, receptionist, was extremely professional in making appointments, maintaining contract etc - thank you Wendy)

I cannot understand how this company stays in business or how they have achieved so many A ratings. My husband and I are in the process of building a new home It is now time to talk with a decorator for their expert advice on choices to be made for a full kitchen and two baths. We made an appointment, drove 50 miles oneway, brought our building plans, and arrived early We felt like we had interrupted their day: - no color samples were available - no cabinet door samples were available - no counter samples available - and sadly, no assistance was even hinted at We were told they were moving their showroom and warehouse to this same location, but I feel they had an obligation to tell us we would be unable to view any of the items that would be need to make some decisions. Very poor customer service. It makes me very angry they wasted so much of my time.
Description of Work: Considering their lack of service during our visit at the showroom, I would never consider hiring them to perform such intricate work as designing our kitchen and baths in our new home

Workmanship was good. Overall experience was satisfactory. There was a problem with the County for permits that had not been properly pulled. A contractor came by early and wanted to know whey they had not pulled the proper permits that SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED outside the house. The company was called and they fixed the problem with the county but this took a full week of no work being done. They did make a "good faith effort" and solved the problem and then offered to give me a credit on some of the fixtures, etc. We would have appreciated better communication from the company on the days they would be working, and days they would not be working.

Great job. Karen came to the house one evening in January to give me some ideas and so that she could work up a quote. That Saturday, my mother and I drove to their showroom to see what she had come up with. She had not only added more cabinets, changed the lighting, tiled the entire area, she gave us more room. We signed the contract but wanted to wait a couple of weeks before the work would begin. The work started on 2/14 and was finished on 3/09/11. We even got to go and see and pick out our own piece of Granite from the warehouse. The sink, serving area and on either side of the stove all have a sold piece of Granite. There are no seems. They even managed to me a couple of outlets that were badly needed.
Description of Work: Had my kitchen/dining room area total redone from the floor to the ceiling and everything in between. They replaced all my kitchen cabinets, put in a tile floor, removed old lighting fixture and replaced with more lights. They also removed the island in the kitchen and replaced with a new one with lots of cabinets.

On Monday, January 3rd, I made an appointment to meet with Kitchen, Bath, & Beyond's designer in my home between 10 and 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5th. On Wednesday at 11 a.m. I left a message with their voice mail asking when the designer would arrive. Fifteen minutes later I left another message asking them to call me right away - I had to return to work, and wanted to save the designer the trip. Kitchen, Bath, & Beyond called at 5:40 p.m. and apologized for not making the appointment. The person who called said that one of their employees had an emergency in the family so they closed for the day. We decided not to do business with this company. We rate them as "Fair" for responsiveness - taking over six hours to return a call. We rate them as "Fair" for punctuality - missing the appointment without calling is mitigated by an employee's family emergency. Bottom line: I don't want to rely on a company that closes any time an employee has a family emergency - that suggests the company has a manpower bottleneck which could suspend my remodeling project without notice and without remediation. UPDATE: That the owner contacted us shows a level of customer focus that validates my sense that this company, despite the evidence of this particular incident, normally does a very good job. As I put in the "extended questions" portion of this review, I don't discourage other from using Kitchen, Bath, and Beyond - I just suggest that future clients build more flexibility in their renovation schedule than we are able to.
Description of Work: We requested an in-home appointment with a Kitchen, Bath, & Beyond designer. The designer did not show up, and the company did not call until over six hours after the appointment time. UPDATE: Two days later, on Friday at lunchtime, the owner called to tearfully apologize.

Karen,Zack, Danny and crew are true pros. Karen came out to the house and measured and took photos. She had great ideas of how to transform our 1980's kitchen into a modern marvel. The demo and contruction were done in the cleanest neatest way that I have ever seen. Great care was taken to make sure that as little mess was made as possible. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is outstanding. The work was completed ahead of schedule and we could not be happier with our experience. Did we mention we LOVE our new kitchen! I now know what the "Beyond" in their name means. Danny fabricated the neatest outdoor granite shelf for us.

This wound up costing much more than we hoped, but we love the finished product. It is tempting to scrimp and economize on some items, such as a toilet (please don't; you will regret it). We love the new toilet, new Robern medicine cabinets (two), new Grohe faucets. They are so superior to what we had. But comparative shop for the items you purchase! Visit places like Fergusons (Tampa and Tarpon Springs) for ideas and check on-line sites that can save you money, such as www.kitchenbath.com. The workmanship was fine. They did not create any uncessary mess and always cleaned up before they left each day.
Description of Work: This was a master bathroom, approximately 8x9 needing extensive remodeling. Tile was removed from the bathroom walls and the shower walls and floor. The walls were re-surfaced. A window was replaced, along with a closet door and a pocket door. The vanity was replaced; so were the toilet, sink fixtures, shower fixtures, floor tile, and shower tile. The new vanity top was granite, as was the window sill and shower sill. They also installed a new wall mirror and two bathroom cabinets, along with new shower doors. NOT included in the above $17,000. were these items we paid for separately: toilet, sink and shower faucets, new overhead vent fan, new window, new double towel bar, new shower doors, two new Robern wall cabinets, and a new mirror. We did the painting

It was my intention to submit this report before now but work and family activities got me behind schedule. As noted in my February 2010 report on Kitchen, Bath and Beyond (KBB), my husband and I had already agreed for them to renovate our guest bathroom. Needless to say Karen and Danny Alonso and their KBB team continued to excel in professionalism and service delivery. Karen provides excellent design advice; if you follow her lead, you can never go wrong. Danny?s expertise about just general home construction was a wonderful learning experience for my husband. This job was also done with the least bit of intrusion, quickly, and professionally. Family and friends are amazed by the change; we have received nothing but wonderful compliments. This is an outstanding company; KBB will never let you down.

Smooth...not a hitch. They put a lockbox on the door so they could come and go as necessary, stayed on schedule, showed up when they said they would and cleaned up (thouroughly) everyday. They even shampooed the carpets that saw heavy traffic from them coming and going. Very courteous and respectful.
Description of Work: Essentially gutted entire bathroom save exposed drywall and replaced cementboard in shower, retiled shower, floor and around garden bathtub. Installed new cabinets, granite countertops, sills and all hardware. Replumbed sinks and replaced toilet....custom fabricated frameless glass shower enclosure.

Owners Danny & Karen Alonso are really true professionals. We entertained seven diffferent bids and presentations prior to selecting Kitchen Bath & Beyond. They were sincere, honest and professional from day one until the completion of the project. Karen is extremely talented in designing, color selections, and finding additional space for the project. Also is very kind with a sharp business mind. Dan is the maintenace guru that manages the project. This guy is multi talented with a great sense of humor, and has excellent leadership skills. They have a talented staff that is second to none. I am a 31 year HR professional and my spouse a 20 year educational provider and we can truely say that You can trust your home to this talented group. They will provide excellent customer service, quality products, clean/neat work, and fair pricing.

Reading the March edition of your magazine, I saw in the advertisement for Kitchen, Bath and Beyond (KBB) that the business received a 2009 Super Service Award, my husband and I were not surprised. In the fall of 2009, we began our search for someone to renovate our bathrooms; of course we consulted Angie?s List. From the moment we walked into KBB, we felt welcomed and appreciated. It was quite obvious that Karen Alonso loves what she does and takes pride in a quality product. In fact after visits to other businesses in the area, we immediately headed back to KBB. Karen and Danny came to our home to discuss what we wanted to be done. Pictures were taken and ideas shared. We visited the office to see the proposed design. Due to the upcoming holidays and other commitments, we signed a contract for work to begin February 1, 2010. Danny and Robert arrived on time. Karen had warned us things would be dusty so we moved into the guest bedroom. This was really not necessary. KBB are immaculate; they cleaned up every day. The master bath was completed in 3 weeks and it is beautiful. Karen and Danny Alonso and their employees are extremely professional and go above and beyond in serving their customer. They run a top notched organization ? USE THEM! In fact, they will be renovating our guest bathroom.
