It went fine.

We were putting in tile flooring...about 1,200 sq ft. After shopping around we found a tile we liked at Home Depot. Seemed like it would stream line the process if we also hired them to install. Kind of wish we had not. Scheduling with their 3rd party vendor is a process. In the end the job is ok but there were and are issues. This was the first time I'd had this type of work done and I didn't know what I didn't know...but that's why I was paying a lot of money to what I expected to be experts. Some tile was mislaid and had to be torn up. There was no discussion about floor boards...they just assumed a quarter round with old board would work. Wrong. Had to hire carpenters to fix that mess. Have some uneven places that drive me crazy. Morning sun coming across tile shows high and low spots. In general, Home Depot isn't what it used to be. I've recently gone in asking "do it yourself" questions only to have department reps say they had no experience with that work or product...and one guy read me package labels! I can read. I need someone who can say if this product was right for my project and give me valuable advice.

The gentleman who was assisting us with the product was pretty informative and patient with us for sure.  I will recommend them for the price of the carpet.

- If it wasn't for tenacity of the carpet service representative, we would have cancelled our purchase and installation order

- The measurement survey was accurate and detailed. Roughly a 12x18 ft carpet was purchased.

- The sub-contractor, on contract by Home Depot, to install the carpet should never be used and terminated. Without proper examination of the existing floor tiles, he determined that the material was hazardous and walked off the job. Also, he offered no solution for his false allegation and he took the carpet back to his company.

- The carpet service and customer service reps at Home Depot managed to get the carpet and deliver it to us within two weeks.

- The carpet service rep helped us work through our installation options. We looked at the do-it-yourself installation (e.g., installation cost per hour, tools, materials, etc.) option and compared that cost to a few local professional installers. We opted to go with a non-Home Depot carpet installation professional.

- After the work was completed, we meet with the carpet service rep and personally thank him for his professional customer care.

- Background. My mother-in-law had to have her sewer/plumbing replaced early this year. As a result, the plumber had to jack-hammer the house foundation from the bathroom, through the living room and out to the front yard. He sealed the 3 ft wide trench with concrete. This is the primary reason we needed carpeting installed in her living room.

I like the guys there. They're top of the line. I would go back again in the future.

They're very good. They called me back to ask me questions. I felt like they really wanted to make sure that everything was okay. The man they sent out was such a gentleman and had such a nice sense of humor. He worked fast and then he was done.

The overall experience was great. The delivery and install team was exceptional , this team went over and beyond.

There were some issues in the beginning with giving us diagrams for the doors that were being installed. They are still doing the work, they seem pretty good. We will update further when the work is completed.

When the contractor finished the work a rep form home depot came out to check the work and make sure we were happy.

Home Depot has done several projects for us. They have also put in new windows. The projects through Home Depot have been done superbly. Everything is done how we expect it to be done.

Work was done by a Home Depot sub-contractor, who in turn hired installers from a third company. The day before the scheduled install date we called the sub-contractor and we were told the installers would be on time. We then cleaned out all the cabinets. No one showed on the scheduled day. We called and were told that the crew was stuck on another job. When I asked why they didn't call to let us know, I was told they did call and left a message on our answering machine. (We had been home the entire time). The job was rescheduled for the next week. When they did show, they realized that they were missing materials and could not finish the job. The installer blamed it on the sub-contractor and vice-versa. The installer wanted to delay finishing the job because he didn't want to make a special trip to pick up the missing materials. It was finally finished after numerous phone calls and broken promises.

A real cluster *#>*. It took way too long to hear from the installer for Home Depot. I made repeated calls to the salesman asking for help. Asked the department manager for help. No prompt response. Asked the asst. store manager for help. I was told in response to my query that I would have an answer the next day. Again I called the asst. Manager after hearing nothing. After that call I did get a response from the department manager. I also finally did hear from the installer. The installer first went to my neighbors house then he questioned my install order and called his office to clarify the install. The installer was not neat and clean about his work. I had to ask that the trash from the install be removed from my home!
