We have been using Barefoot Lawn Service for about 2 years. When we first started using their services, the owner came by to see our yard and provide an estimate. The first year and a half of service was pretty good, with any problems being quickly resolved (for example, when they mowed over our blueberry bushes, we were re-compensated). However, the last 6 months have been uneven and culminated in truly bad service. The quality of service has been quite bad recently. The hedges in our front yard were allowed to get quite large and unruly. This was especially true of one in front of our bedroom window that had been getting increasingly large, such that we couldn't even see out of that window. I was going to call them about this last week, but they DID trim the hedge that week, only to an incredibly barren and short length. When they did this, they did not pay heed to the cable coaxial cable that runs along the house near the hedge and they cut straight through it. We had to wait 3 days to get cable back up and running. In addition to uneven quality, there has been uneven timing. We keep chickens in our backyard, so we did not have them mow our backyard until several months ago when I had so few chickens that they didn't keep the grass short themselves. At that point, I called Barefoot and asked what day of the week they come out so we can lock the chickens up before they come. For a few weeks they were coming on Thursdays, and then they didn't do the backyard one week so I called again and the new day was Wednesday, and a few weeks later the same thing, with the new day being Tuesday. Tuesday lawn days did not last long and the timing of services remained seemingly random, with no notice from Barefoot when they would be coming (and, therefore, no backyard mowing). This culminated in the day I am writing this review. Two weeks ago (week of September 10), we received no mow. The week of September 17, we didn't get mowed until Wednesday or Thursday, and the week of September 24 (the day of this review), we got mowed on Monday. Well, whoever mowed made the executive decision to mow the backyard despite loose chickens and I am now missing a chicken. Although the price of Barefoot Lawn Service was very affordable ($35/cut), they have ultimately proven to be not worth the value.
