They ran into some issues with parts but fully explained it to us. We felt they were honest throughout the process.

I pray that those who read this will listen! This place will rip you off in a second if they think they can and they will lie to you. If they do it to one person they will do it to another. I took my car in to be diagnosed and they said they needed to do the above job. $900 and a day later it was done and for a few months or so it was fine. After that started having other severe symptoms but could not afford to bring it back in. Waited a year until I was stalling all over town. They said they needed to do the same thing. Unfortunately a year later, I did not remember what they did and did not think to look at my notes. It was after they kept my car for 6 days, telling me day after day it would be definitely ready the next day and not calling me when they couldn't get it done so I made a trip for nothing that I looked and realized it was the same job. I am certain they would never look a man in the eye and tell them they could not have their car back that day. They continued to add things to the job for lots more money saying it was absolutely necessary to be done like front and back sway bar links. I found out later they did not have to be done. They took complete advantage of my inexperience with cars and lied to me. I explained that this was the same job....of course they kept NO records at all so I had to bring in receipt to prove to them. They said they would give me a parts discount of $250 only even though it said parts and labor was warranted for a year. I have Danny recorded on my phone telling me the parts were $450 dollars ....they lied again. I got frustrated after no car for 6 days, paid the bill and left. One month later, the car was doing the same exact thing....stalling all over town. They refused to return my money. I took to another mechanic without telling them about Newmans and they diagnosed it to be a completely different problem. When I then explained what Newmans did, they asked if they insisted it was a vacuum leak. I said yes and they said they do it all the time, charge you an expensive repair job when they don't know what is the real problem. The actual fix to the problem is only $243 dollars when they charged me over $1,100. In addition, I asked them to look at another switch to my back hatch. Danny actually admitted that they made it worse after messing with it causing the warning light to come on.....now I can't drive in the dark so am forced to have it fixed. They wanted to charge me $400 to fix it.....when the other mechanic said it will cost $142.5. Newman's Auto are DISHONEST! Completely disorganized with no records of what they are doing and no concern for you.

I got an estimate of about $470 ($399 for the part) to replace a mass air flow sensor on a 2001 Nissan Frontier. I called my son  is a mechanic, and asked him to check the price. He checked and found $85 for a rebuilt part with local pickup here in Tallahassee.  I went back to Newman's and asked them about the price difference. I was told that they would have to talk with their parts buyer about this. Following my son's advice, I asked and Newman's agreed to install my replacement part for $50. They accepted and I was told it would take about 3 minutes to install then part.

While paying the bill in the office, I was surprised to see a parts box identical to the one my part came in. I wondered if this was the part they were originally going to installed on my truck.

The estimate was almost $500 but the cost that was spent that day was just $45. They might have scratched the tint on the window but we have used them in the past and they have always been good, honest people. The quality of work is good. The professionalism is decent like it is a family owned shop. The prices are good. They don’t give us a run around.

The service is really outstanding. The service is exceptional. They told me what they could do and not do. The place is really busy all the time which is a good indication. They don't overcharge me. They try to save me money.

On time

Went in for a problem they were never able to solve. The owner Rodney, assured me that would be no problem but after shuffling the car around with several "test drives" we were no closer to a resolution. The place is always in a state of chaos with multiple mechanics always running around seemingly wanting to please everyone at once as soon as they come in. Cars are strewn around everywhere with hoods up in various stages of repair. There doesn't seem to be any organization. They seem to use customer cars to run parts and ferry other customers. They are however an honest shop with more that fair prices and I believe they do good work on simple problems but anything more complex they cannot handle well because of the complete lack of organization.

My car was leaking oil, ask them to take a look and give me an estimate. They said that the oil plug was loose. I was surprised when they said it was no charge for the fix. However, my car continued to leak oil. I went back and they replaced the oil plug. its better than before but still continuous leaking oil. I was told it was $360 to replace the oil pan. They are very honest and the staff very nice. but are very informal. They park the cars at the home depot parking lot, which is about 1 mile away because they don't have enough space.

Excellent service in a very timely manner.

They are excellent.  When my nephew drove his car back, the air conditioner stopped working, and they asked him to ship it back to them and said that they would ship him a new one, without any charge.  That is the way they are.  At the most, I spent about $10 or $15 for charging my air conditioner.

My experience was very good. I went to them at the end of April and had them check out my A/C. It was free and i walked away not paying for anything. I bought the parts my self and returned a week and half later. The price he gave me was the same and they had it fixed in 3 hours. When i picked it up the A/C was blowing warm air and i immediately went back. They told me their tool for charging the system broke yesterday and they got a new one today. They hooked it up to the machine and had if blowing cool air in 20 mins. The owner told me to come back if there are any more problems. All the staff were very nice and everyone seemed willing to help.

Good diagnostics, and honest repairs.  Can't beat them for service, and results.

I took the auto in for repairs.  They cleaned all the connection for the battery, the starter and associated connections.  They did not charge.  I am a regular customer with two older vehicles.

They did good work and are priced competitively.

They are very informal. I am overall pleased with their work. I have used them since minor repairs and check up. They are reasonably priced and ontmie with their ascheduling. I would continue to use them.

We have been using Newman's Auto and Air for several years and are always very happy.  My dad has even brought cars up here from Tampa, just to have these guys take a look because they are always honest, friendly and affordable.

They repaired my electrical window switch and replaced the broken band.on my 1995 Caddy.
It was ready on the date indicated and all worked very well. It still does work well.
