Description of Work: Built a new shower, tiled it, put frameless glass door and new flooring. The 2 men who built the shower were very professional, and did a equivalent job. No complaints.

Description of Work: Installed hardwood flooring in three rooms and a closet. Repaired existing carpet from pet damage. There was one mixup and Flooring America was able to correct it without a delay in competition. The installers did a great job!! Flooring America did everything that was promised and I'll call them for my future flooring needs. They gifted me with a free hardwood floor cleaning kit. Nice touch BRIAN BARNARD`S FLOORING AMERICA!

Description of Work: We purchased tile for our back porch and had it installed by another provider we found on Angie's list. The folks that sold us the flooring were great, our installer picked the tile up. The quality was perfect. Tile is very heavy (not a big surprise to most), very glad we used both of these folks. I would definitely do that again, in fact, we called the store to see if we could just get carpeting installed one room at a time, they said no problem. Sent someone within a few days to measure. We just have to go and pick out the tile. We have two dogs and a cat that have trashed our current carpet. |The tile guy was Gary King of King Construction. Great guy, great service.

Description of Work: We had an agreement to buy carpet for our daughter's house and have it installed. They sold our carpet to someone else after we had paid for it. |We had to scramble and use someone else after "our" carpet was sold. Unprofessional, will never use them or recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: I purchased Karastan carpeting for my living room and dining room. They installed it. 3 months later I purchased more Karastan for my 5 bedrooms and had them install it. They were professional and very accurate in their measuring. I didn't have a bunch of carpet left over.

Description of Work: Nearly four years earlier I had purchased wood and tile flooring for my home from Flooring America and selected Flooring America since they had a nice store and felt they might be more apt to stand behind their work and offer quality products. Tile were installed in the kitchen and one bathroom . Flooring America hired subcontractors to perform the installation. Sullivan Hardware Floor installation did a great job and were very responsive when a repair needed to be made. I wasn't made aware that I was responsible for removing the toilet and reconnecting the washer and dryer and refrig. until the tile installer came. However, I was able to pay him extra money to take care of the toilet. The tile installer moved the refrigerator over the newly installed wood floors and scratched them bad, but he worked it out with the wood installers to repair. My biggest problem came later at I noticed in at least one spot the tile would occasionally pop when I walked on it. Someone knowledgable about tile flooring advised me that some of the tiles sounded hollow and were not properly bonded to the concrete. However, appearance wise there was still no problem, but eventually I got down on the floor and tapped the tile to determine how many tiles had not properly bonded and found that it was at least 2/3's. The only tiles in the kitchen that had stuck properly were those that would have been walked on regularly. Tile on both sides of this common traffic area all sounded hollow. After going back up to the store they had agreed to have someone come out to look at them. The tile manager came out but said he would have to discuss the situation with the owner. I called back and the tile manager and the sone of the owner came back out but quickly started telling me how something I did was probably the cause, such as turning the temperature up high after leaving the home with out heat when the weather was severely cold. Since my daughter lived with me I had never left my home unattended as he suggested. He then said maybe something happended that my daughter didn't tell me about. I suppose such accusations were as frustrating as their unwillingness to accept full responsibility and replace the tile. He did keep saying he would make it right, but that he couldn't pay all of it since it couldn't be proven that material or workmanship was defective. He did acknowledge that the thin set they used was not a very good quality and that he would have the product rep come by to look at it, which he did. The product rep said that the thin set used should have been adequate in 98 or 99 percent of the installations. While I though his argument helped my case - that I was the unfortunated 1 or 2% there was still no willingness to accept full responsibility. Therefore rather than get a lawyer and deal with the stress of a court case I agreed to pay the cost of the reinstallation and they agreed to provide the material including new tile. Therefore I paid approximately $700 out of pocket. The store did send two of their own installers and I did sense they were trying to do a good job and make me happy and I was generally pretty satisfied with their work. They did break the keys off of a cabinet they moved and stratched a wall. They didn't ask me about the color of the grote and used something different than what I had before. However, it looks ok and I can live with it. Despite the fact that they did seem to take great measure to minimize the dust in my home I did stilll have dust throughout my home. Having bad allergies and dry eyes were further irritated from this. They had taken the commode out as one piece. Unfortunately when I tried to set it back up it craked and I had to buy a new commode. I also had to hook back up the water to the refrig. and the washer and drier. I thought their failure to accept responsiblity for their work and make it right was very short sighted. I will never buy from them again, nor will I ever recommend them to others. Trying to lay blame for the problem on me or my daughter simply added insult to injury.
