VENUS ELECTRONICS

My T.V. was nearing 10 years old, and I noticed white lines forming in the top 4" of the picture. I feel they got thicker as time went by, or else I noticed them more and more, but eventually I thought I would have to buy a new set because it gave me a headache to watch. Then I found the TV repair Venus electronics on Angie's list, and telephoned over the weekend and left a message on the machine. Being the Co. hrs. listed were Mon. thru Fri., I was surprised when Bill from Venus Electronics returned my call later that weekend. I explained my t.v. problem, told him year and make, and he arranged for Monday between 10 & 12 to come to the house, since I could not lift this TV. He gave me a quote over the phone as he knew exactly what I was talking about and that the problem was a common one with my brand of TV. ( The price shown is the exact quote, plus there was tax added ) Bill showed up Monday @ 11:00 am. I showed him to the TV. He saw the lines, turned it off, he turned it around, dismantled the casing, took off the circuit board, used the power-tester to check certain components, replaced a few capacitors, hot-welded circuits, rechecked, then reassembled the set. He again rechecked the set, made sure everything worked properly. I found the work to be very efficient, professional, and convenient.

Called Bill Friday morning at 0800 and he called me back about 0915. I took him my tv and he was finished the same day 4 hours later. OUTSTANDING!!!! I will go to Venus first next time.

My DLP TV was shutting down after a few minutes of being powered on. The technician made several troubleshooting suggestions I could try over the phone. When each failed, he offered to come to my house to diagnose the problem. He identified the most likely cause was an intermittent lamp and indicated he would purchase one and be back to test it. He ordered the part and promptly made an appointment to come to my house and replace it. The new lamp solved the problem.

Venus electronics has come out twice to repair the TV. He is prompt and he really knows his way around a TV set. I would highly recommend him for any type of TV repair.

He came when he was in the neighborhood. Found the problem. When I asked what I owed him, he hemmed & hawed and said - "Just give me gas money." I only had $20 cash which seemed OK to him. I highly recommend him.

I was so wonderfully impressed. The pricing was fair, and the work was done on time and quickly. I feel awful I don't remember his first name (Bob? Bill?) and it isn't on his card.

Mr. Herron showed up earlier than projected. He worked for more than one one on the problem. Because of the heavy size of the TV, he did not have to remove the TV from my home thus saving downtime and possible wear and tear on the TV et al.

arrived on time, when right to work and was in and out in 1/2 hr. I had been quoted est. $300.over the phone by another company. He charged almost 1/2 this amt.

Overall it was A+. Everything went well. The price was right and the service was great. I would recommend them to anyone.

He came to the house to inspect the TV, took the part and was done in a week. He even helped us lift the heavy TV into the entertainment certain. Punctual and courteous. He worked around our schedule, too.

I have a big 62 inch Sony and the picture started acting up so I call Jersery Jim Tower where I bought the set 14 years ago and they had always given great service. When the girl said they would have to pick up the set and drive it to their shop I was very upset as they had never said this before and I know taking the TV in a truck would kill it. So I checked here and found Venus and Bill came out the same day I called and he charged 69 something and said things were getting weak on the set and I might have 2 more years, but whatever happened had worked itself out. He cleaned it and checked all the levels and did a wonderful job. Set is still working fine. I am sure I would have spent hundreds of dollars going with Jersey Jim Towers

I wish I new about Bill before my TV broke because I paid $150 for a new lamp for the DLP that did not solve the problem. Next time I'll call Bill first and save myself time and money.

TV screen was unclear - lots of static - and often would change chanels or turn off by itself. Bill came to the house and re-soldered the tuner connections. The TV now works like new. I would definitely use Venus Electronics again!

Technician quickly resolved the problem at a reasonable cost. Very well done.

The first time I called him because there was something wrong with my TV, he gave me some suggestions on what I could do before I went ahead and hired him. He came over the next day and was very courteous and prompt. He only spent less than an hour. I think the quality of his service, plus the cost is very reasonable.

Bill came out the same day of call, a Thursday afternoon. He inspected the TV and then took it to the shop for repair. He returned the TV to us on Saturday. The total cost actually was less than originally estimated.

My 65" Mitsubishi TV just died. I called Venus Electronics and they were able to come out the next day. They showed up when they said they would, and were able to fix the TV then and there. I was grateful as this was during the World Series. They did a great job of cleaning up the work area, and even hooked everything back up for me.

After describing the problem with our TV over the phone on Friday, the technician gave us a possible diagnosis and an approximate cost He was out the following morning and promptly repaired our set. The TV has worked fine. We got a 90 day guarantee on all work.

Their price was excellent and the repair went fine. They were very polite.

He did a really good job. He was very quick and cleaned up after himself very well. I would use him again.

Mr. Herron picked up our TV, which wasn't working at all and took it to his shop. He brought the set back in 5 days and it was working properly. Mr. Herron was very courteous and helpful. He tested the set for 3 days under various conditions, to be sure it was working properly. His charges were reasonable. The only complaint I have is he didn't call back to give us an estimate on the repairs. I would recommend him to anyone with TV problems.

Fine; although, I'm disappointed the TV couldn't be fixed.

Very well. The owner himself came out, identified and showed me the problem. Let me know what the cost would be and when he could have it fixed. He moved furniture to access the back panel and put everything back including securing the back panel to insure no future damage could occur. When he replaced the circuit board, he did the same thing as before - moving furniture and putting everything back. He also hooked up my DVR for me which was fantastic as I wasn't sure how to do it. I found him to be very pleasant, professional and his pricing fair.

Picture on Samsung HDTV, which is five years old, kept freezing up then shutting off. TV would not turn back on after it shut off. Picture was also "tiling." We called Bright House twice and they were unable to determine the cause so we called Venus Electronics. They came to our house and picked up the TV and brought it back to their shop. TV was returned in less than a week and repairs are guaranteed for 90 days. Picture no longer shut off anymore. We also got a new cable box so everything seems to be working fine. We were very pleased with the service and responsiveness and we glad we did not have to go out and buy a new TV.

I was very surprised that an expensive 7 year old set was better off discarded than repaired, and was also very appreciative of Bill's candor on that point. I'd definitely call on him again.
