Unable to fix but worth making sure.

He was able to come to my house, diagnose and then repair once the parts came in. He was very prompt and helpful. The service call was applied toward the repair cost.

Performed the diagnosis but could not perform the work since the unit was still under warranty

It went great. He saved me from buying a new tv and the price was more than fair . I would go back and use recommend him to everyone.

Please read all of this. I went to Angie's list, as I frequently do when I have an occasional need. In my case it was an aging high definition television repair. I had two issues one after the other. Of note: Upon reviewing the A ratings in my area (Clearwater Florida) two got my attention. One was close by with a simple charge of $25 for a, "looksee". The other – Venus Electronics – had a $79 looksee, which would be applied should you engage their services. I had used Venus years and years ago, and in spite of the fact that I didn't have much money I rolled the dice, and I am so glad I did. Bill Herron (proprietor) diagnosed my problem Over the phone by asking me a few questions, turning on the TV, asking what I saw and heard. In BOTH cases he was spot on. In spite of having to deal with serious health issues with a member of his immediate family – he was attentive, on time, and even though I gave him a lot of latitude considering his family issues… He actually called me to ask if he could come out on a Sunday because he was concerned that Monday this family member was having very critical surgery and he was concerned that he may not be able to live up to his promise of being there on Monday… SO HE CAME ON SUNDAY. His principles and standards of service exceed an "A" by a considerable margin. It is without ANY reservation that I would give him my highest recommendation. His work was superior, his pricing competitive, and more importantly and above all, a sense of integrity you don't find much anymore. He is now my go to guy without question on any electronic issues I have in my household. I only hope that this family health issue ends up favorably because his family deserves it. I'm 66 years old and of the opinion that this workman's type integrity is disintegrating at a rapid pace. Too many people going for the "quick grab" and for-going the value of true and great customer service. Not Bill. Is likely if you go for the cheapest guy, you're likely to get the cheapest service, and in the end both the immediate and long-term savings were obvious. Again I would recommend Venus Electronics WITHOUT HESITATION.

Venus Electronics does house calls and that was wonderful as I couldn't lift my TV! He was prompt, very thorough and very professional. What he quoted me on the phone was exactly what I paid based on what was wrong with my TV. Mr. Herron came in and started working immediately. He was able to do the work even though my dogs were bugging him to get some attention or to play since he was working with my TV on the floor. He was very patient with my dogs and that means a lot to me. He was also very professional. It didn't take much time at all and my TV turns on like new! I'm very happy!!!!

He arrived promptly and even called to ask if he could arrive early. He was just as efficient as I could have ever wanted. A sweet man we had a lovely conversation about life, etc.....HONEST man and I will recommend him and have already spread the word that BIll is the one to call!

Bill did an excellent job. He was professional and friendly. He was able to do the job in approx one hour and everything works fine. I certainly would recommend Bill to others. I will use his services if needed in the future.

I was well pleased with the service performed on our stereo. Mr. Herron gave me a good estimate and timely service and our stereo now works fine. I will definitely use his services again.

Called and made an appointment for technician to come out on a Friday. My TV was too big to take into the shop. I had somebody go to my house to wait for him for the 3pm appointment. He didn't call and didn't show. When he finally did answer my call at 4:15, he was unapologetic and said he forgot my paperwork, and couldn't come out until Monday. Very unprofessional and unwilling to come out even though I had someone waiting for him for almost an hour and a half.

I took my 46in Sony LCD TV into his small shop. He checked it out, cleaned the contact on the HDMI cables and socket. Found that the only thing wrong was that my cable at home was bad. Very honest and charged me a nominal fee for his time. Didn't perform any unnecessary work.

I would describe my experience with Bill as HONEST! He explained what had happened to the tv (pixels slowly disappearing) and he was right, that was exactly what happened. He also explained he could fix it, but it would be costly for replacement parts and service. His estimate was directly in line with the research I had done on the internet and calling other non-Angie's list providers. BUT Bill explained that since the tv was several years old it might be best to just put the money towards buying a new one.... wow who does that? fantastic! he even recommended the best tv brands for what I wanted from my tv. So instead of spending approx $400 to fix my old tv I shopped around and bought a new 55in Samsung smart tv for about $750! It is an AMAZING television, much nicer than my old one. Thanks Bill I owe you one.

About 6 years ago, we purchased a $700.00 Phillips LCD TV. In March, 2015, the screen suddenly went fuzzy and the colors were extremely off - it was basically unwatchable. I was told that the "T-conn board" and "gamma proc" needed repair, and not knowing ANYTHING about television repair, I braced myself for an expensive bill. The quote from Venus Electronics was for $118.00, plus tax! Quite a bargain compared to buying a new TV. The TV was fixed within two days, at the price quoted. The picture looks amazing. I'm so glad we went to Venus. The proprieter is such a nice guy, too. I love giving small businesses my money rather than just having the repair done at Best Buy or something. Definitely recommend!

It went very well. I took the TV to the shop, he gave me an estimate and in about 4 days called me up, I picked it up. It's been working perfect ever since. I can't remember the actual date of service but it's about 9 months ago.

He was a very nice man. His service charge was lower then others. He was here for 10 to 15 minutes. He didn't take advantage of us. He was very pleasant.

Very quick and friendly. The repair was just what the TV needed. Bill called and told me the problem, then had it fixed right away.

Mr. Herron was outstanding in his service, and his knowledge. He seemed to genuinely like what he does. When I left his shop, he offered to open my car door for me, and also suggested a better way to transport the tv to prevent possibility of damage to the LCD screen. I was so pleased with his service that I have already recommended his services to several other friends and clients. He is a perfect provider to be included on Angie's List.

He showed up, he did the job. The price was right, he was clean, everything was great. There wasn't anything that was wrong.

This gentleman is just wonderful, he is so pleasant and helpful. At first we thought he may have to take our TV to his shop, so I told him I would get back with him after I tried a few more things. When I noticed nothing would work on my remote, I called him back for advice and he walked me through some things with my remote and fixed my problem and saved me all that money and inconvenience of having it fixed or buying a new one, he is an AWESOME person. Bill couldn;t be nicer and more responsive. He doesn't give up, even on very puzzling problems!

After dealing with Samsung and trying unsuccessfully for a week to get their "certified repairman" to our home to replace the lamp in our TV I consulted Angie's List. I found Venus Electronics. I described the problem and they were able to come out that day. They replace the lamp promptly and efficiently.

We were very happy with the service. He didn't just fix the plug end that was broken he replaced the entire cable, which is inside of the TV. He was prompt and professional. If we would have gone the route that the TV manufacture had suggested the cost would have been well over $200.00.

Excellent! Called Bill on Friday morning and he was able to come out that day. ( I had been waiting for 4 days for the provider Samsung had referred us to.) Scheduled an appointment for 2 pm and he called to say he could come earlier at 1:30 pm which was great. He came in and diagnosed the problem, replaced the lamp and got our TV working! He was in and out in around a half hour!

The repair was completed here at my house the same day. I called, left a message and received his return call within an hour. Excellent service. I was so impressed that I did not use the 10% off coupon.
