Nelson Brothers Painting

Larry gave me an estimate for all the painting described above, except the closet., which was added when he arrived to start the job.. Larry is a master at painting. The bedrooms looked like I had walked into a new house. The garages and laundry room were beautifully painted as well. Larry pays attention to detail and does any repairs required before painting. He applies two coats of paint and knows a lot about color. I used another company on Angie's List for painting and was not happy with them because they did not do detail work. I plan to have Larry come back and do other work, I do not hesitate to give him a 5 star rating--best painter I have ever used. In addition, Larry's pricing is very reasonable and the workmanship makes it a value.

Mr. Nelson arrived promptly. I was very please with the result. I love my living room/dining room. There was attention to detail. I chose a grey/blue paint that contrasted with the white trim on the windows and doors. Everything was done very well. I will definitely call again.

Larry was awesome! He showed up on time everyday. He shared his knowledge about painting and he made suggestions when I needed a second opinion. He finished the job on time. Very friendly guy. Will use him again for future paint jobs, as well as recommending him to friends and family. Thank you again Larry!

Larry was prompt and clean at the end of every day, he cleaned up and the disruption to our family was nil. What a great guy to work with and turn your house over to for Renno. We will be using Larry to paint the remainder of the house over time. While he cautioned us on the estimate he came in at budget and paid an extra beyond estimate our of "gratitude." Hard to find these kinds of craftsmen these days who are focused on the customer, not just money.

We couldn't be more pleased. Garry performed all the work himself and transformed the room from dark and dingy to bright and inviting. He made suggestions on how to improve the look of the room. He arrived on time, worked nonstop on day one and completed the work on day two. He is professional, cleans as he goes along and is a very hard worker. His rate is reasonable and he came in right on target with the estimate. We will definitely use Nelson Brothers for all our painting needs. We highly recommend this company and will do so to our friends and neighbors.

Garry not only provided a very professional painting job, but went out of his way by providing the following: -- took our 3 paint color samples, went to Sherwin Williams where he got sample paint to place on the house so we could see what they looked like. We were then able to select a color in between those originally chosen to get the final color, which we really like. -- even though the details hadn't been discussed, Garry painted the faux stone work on the front of the house in the house color (light green) and the 'grout' white at no extra charge -- extra fussy work as the original plan was to paint it all a light tan -- all the windows had 5/8" plywood as hurricane protection painted the old house color -- Garry repainted them the new house color -- took down two old satellite dishes which were an eyesore without being asked to (I had mentioned that I planned to take them down sometime when I got around to it) -- after pressure washing house prior to painting, Garry also pressure washed entrance walkway. -- during the whole project, Garry went over in detail what he had done each day and what he planned for the next day plus provided suggestions of little extras that he could do. Very good communication

I spoke with Larry via telephone and set a day/time for a project estimate. Larry was punctual and very detailed in describing the full extent of the work necessary to properly stain and seal my newly installed French doors. He is pleasant to chat with, addresses all my questions and concerns and conducted himself in a very professional manner. His level of experience is apparent, and although he works alone, he was extremely efficient with his time. He provided all the necessary materials. The nature of my project spanned 2 days and at its completion I was more than thrilled with the outcome. Larry was meticulous about cleanup and leaving The work area in great condition. I highly recommend Larry for your painting and/or staining needs. In fact, I was so appreciative of the fine work on my doors that we coordinated for another in home project, yet to be performed. Our new "old" home had an old/tired paint job and was in desperate need of a color change. We had several house painters come in and give us estimates to paint our home. Old storm shutters had been removed so the exterior walls still had a few remaining bolts and holes left behind. Garry impressed us with a professional approach to the job and reasonable quote. He arrived on site ready to start as scheduled and went straight at it. I work from home so I had first hand knowledge of a few things. Garry was the consummate professional. At the end of every day he went back over all of his work. There was no trash left behind. Whenever there was a question, he would ask first rather than make assumptions. He not only finished the job ahead of schedule, he did it right. If I need anything painted again or if anyone asks me for a referral, Garry at Nelson Brothers Painting is the guy for you.

We purchased the paint thinking we would paint the house ourselves but decided to hire Garry instead since we couldn't find the time. What a great decision! Garry showed up promptly each day and cleaned up before he left. He has great attention to detail and was careful around our new windows, screens and doors. Our house looks beautiful! Garry is great to work with, professional and respectful in demeanor. We highly recommend him.

Garry Nelson responded to my RFQ promptly and spent a good bit of time with me, reviewing the details of what I wanted done. What would be done, how he would do it and the time involved was thoroughly explained to me. Questions and concerns about certain details were answered and alternatives were explained in detail. Once the work began, it was done directly, professionally and without delay. Garry uses top of line quality products, is painstakingly careful and attentive to detail. To provide an example, the day before he started the job I had new screening installed on both the front and back porches. Garry painted the entire metal framework of both porches and I could not find one place where paint had even touched the screen. The jobsite (my yard) was cleaned up neatly every day. Communication was excellent. Because I work during the day and there is no one home, we communicated daily via telephone and I was updated as to progress and schedule. My house looks better than it ever has. Garry Nelson is a fine painter and intend to retain him again for any future projects.

Larry did an excellent job and I would certainly use him again. He arrived promptly everyday and cleaned up daily as well. He was very patient as I had to select paint colors for the entire house and was very helpful putting many samples on the walls. He did a very professional paint job and even when the job was completed asked that we do a final walk through together so that I was very satisfied.

Painted the master bedroom bath and closet. Unable to paint trim in the timeframe but overall happy with his work. Larry is very neat and professional.

They are wonderful. You cant even tell the holes were there. They are not painters, they are magicians.

Mr Nelson did a fantastic job repairing stucco and painting the exterior. He was very knowledgable, professional and courteous. I especially liked his attention to details. I am an engineer and very difficult to please. He surpassed my expectations and I would highly recommend his painting company.

He used a mold kill on 2 big walls in one bedroom and moldicide in the paint. Every wall got 2 coats including 2 coats of a whiter color on the doors and trim. He can "cut-in" paint expertly and knows what he is doing. He did everything that he quoted and more. He kept us informed of his schedule and stuck to it. I am very happy with the job that he did and with Angie's List for finding him for me. I plan on using him again for the outside of my house next year.

All went very well...Larry was professional and explained many details of painting and wall paper removing and helped with advice for future projects...He did a beautiful job and finished within the time allotted for the job...I will definitely hire him again for future projects! He also cleaned everything up and cleaned out my dryer vent which was not part of the paint job! Thank you Larry!

The services were good. He was a great painter but the job seemed like it took forever.

Greatly underestimated time required to do the entire house. Works as an individual. Should have helpers or a team for a large job. Did a poor job of painting the woodwork. Owner will have to fix woodwork paint job in many areas of house. Also refused to paint very small areas of the ceiling that were spackled due to electrical work. Generally does quality work but is very slow, takes long lunch breaks and has no sense of urgency although we needed job done prior to our scheduled move. Also note owner removed all plates, blinds and hardware and covered floor for painter. Also helped him by painting all windows and edging in on walls so he could concentrate on roller painting. Would never hire for a large job.

I started painting my garage last year, but I had painting dripping in some parts. I decided not to finish the job myself, but instead hire a professional. Nelson went back and sanded those parts where the paint was dripping and dry. Now the garage is completely done and looks fabulous. I am so glad I didn't try to finish the painting the garage by myself.

Mr. Nelson showed on time... he is very friendly and very, VERY hard working.... We have extremely high ceilings and were wondering how he was going to be able to get everything done in the 8 hours that he was here but he pulled it off and did a thorough and very clean job! We were extremely impressed and our home looks fantastic! We used a darker color as our accent wall and he was able to make it look flawless AND finish the rest of the very large main room and kitchen with a lighter grey. He knows his stuff and is very good at explaining his work and what it would take, up front and to the point. We will definitely have him back for our next painting project!

After Mr. Nelson reviewed the work he was to perform, he explained his plan of approach. This was all before he brought all his equipment in. Once we were in agreement, it he prepared the room by putting shoe coverings on and put all his paint equipment in place. He then methodically begin to tape off the area walls, remove blinds and cover any holes needed from pictures. Then like an artist he begin to paint the walls being very careful not to paint in places that were not requested. He then painted in stages on the walls, as to allowing one to dry, then going back to apply a second coat. Once finished he removed all the tape of the walls and the paper and drop cloths. As he went along, he answered all my questions very thoroughly to ensure I had an understanding, and an assurance of what he was doing. He did a awesome job with the walls and trim. He thoroughly cleaned up after himself, and left my home in the manner in which he left it. I would definitely recommend he, and use him again for future painting around my home.

Garry was very kind and respectful. He walked us through all the steps of the repairs and truthfully let us know what was to be expected. The finished result looked great. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing professional painting done.

I purchased the $199 special for 8 hours of work. That's a great price for that amount of work but when doing Pop corn removal and texture the time for that job goes up. That's why the cost was more than the $199 special. Walter was on time both days and very professional, he cleaned up both days. I would hire Walter again.
