Quality work at a fair price

We have worked with this company twice now and have had two different experiences. This is really a get what you pay for; experience. First time he built a deck and it was okay with minor flaws at a good price so we were happy. Second time, asked him to do some molding work as he claimed to be a carpenter. He was not responsive to phone calls, usually taking days to get back and then repeatedly pushed our job back. The problem was not pushing the job back but the lack of communication in doing so. I was constantly reaching out for updates. Lastly, the work quality on the molding is poor and really lacked judgement in some areas that will need to be redone. When approached regarding the work, was very combative and made it uncomfortable to move forward. Very disappointing and costly experience.

"We tried to illustrate to the customer that it is impossible to add crown molding to an arched ceiling wall without first adding a blocking to take up the angle of more than 90 degrees. He did not like that approach and refused to believe it could not be done despite a lot of illustrations to the contrary. We are a quality builder and certainly not confrontational as the customer suggests. We have spent more than enough time on this to the point of losing money on this project."
