This was the most horrible experience I have ever had with a company! Choosing to contract with them cost me thousands of dollars! I signed a moving contract with them due to the original estimate of around $2000 and it seemed less expensive than moving myself. The final estimate was $4349 which I agreed to the week of the move. Then on the day of the move, one day before the new owners took possession of the house, United American Moving did not show up. After multiple calls to customer service, I was informed that due to a service failure, they needed to cancel my move and would refund my deposit money. I begged for an alternate day, thinking I could negotiate something with the sellers. I was rudely informed that they had no trucks and would not have any trucks for the summer and they were refunding my deposit, period. They gave me the name and number of a local moving company they recommended, but did not provide any other assistance during this crisis. This local company charged me over $8000 for the move! They also damaged my furniture and then informed me that they had no insurance.
