We met with the Lowe's sales representative on December 15, 2015. We spent over 4 hours with him discussing options, details and making our selections. The expected completion date was for approximately February 24, 2016.
We had not received any updates by mid-January. Upon calling to check on the progress, we discovered the sales representative had forgotten to turn in the paperwork OR place the order. We had agreed to the promotional offer and had already begun making payments. Our 3 day cancellation clause was obviously outdated. After MULTIPLE phone calls to Lowe's employees, several managers, many departments and MULTIPLE calls to two separate sub-contractors, we did get some reply's/answers to our questions.
The roof was eventually installed through our insistence with multiple complications, delays and cost increase (see other reviews) by mid-February.
It has now been 3 months and we are still waiting for the completion of our windows. Lowe's also made an error in the type of windows that were available, which required another cost increase in supplies. There were also errors in the measuring of the windows. There were issues with the direction we wanted the front door to open. This was an area of question right up until the day of installation. The doors have been installed and are now complete.
The windows have been installed, however, we are still waiting for the trim work to be completed. Two employees of the sub-contracting company installed most of the trim work, however, when the foreman returned, he had them remove and re-do the work. The employees had not provided some of these services previously and were not sure on procedures. After some of the trim work was re-done, upon our inspection again, some of the work is still shoddy and several of the windows are still open to the air and rain. We will not sign off, as previously requested, prior to completion of the job, nor before the final inspection. Within two days it will be 3 MONTHS since this nightmare began and it is not over yet.
Update: 3-22-2016 Windows finally completed and inspected. Windows re-trimmed - again. Inspector noted areas with the doors and windows that could have been installed with more precise angled cuts. We did sign the completion form, not entirely satisfied with the final quality of work, however, it was adequate and we wanted the nightmare to end !!!
