Everything went pretty smooth.
Description of Work: Bought 3 rooms of carpet plus installation.. HD jumped the gun on 2 room by telling me it was in resulting in and it wasn't. Had to reschedule the installation but not life changing. The installer was great! They use a contractor of course no time HD people...

They had the best deal I could find for carpeting for one bedroom. They were very professional, and very good.
Description of Work: I used Home Depot. We just finished a bathroom.I also did carpeting through them.

My wife and I moved into our house in May. We were going to have a fence installed. Once we got HOA approval, we went to Home Depot. We have been happy with Home Depot up to this point. They sent a person to our home from All Phases Fences and Pavers. The salesman measured what we needed done and showed us the materials. We decided on one that was rather expensive and told them we would like to hire them to do the job. Home Depot has you pre-pay for the service through them for $7314. We made the payment, signed the contract which said they would have it installed within 6-8 weeks on May 19th. After signing the contract, I contacted All Phases numerous times to set up an installation date, but was never able to get an answer. Per the contract, my wife or I needed to be home during the installation, so we just needed a date. We’re now at August 7th, and I still don’t have a fence. On the 4th, after numerous run arounds and not receiving return calls or emails, calling All Phases and Home Depot and their affiliate called Barrett Outdoor Living, I finally said I have had enough. On August 4th, I cancelled the service. I went to the bank and disputed the charge that was processed from Hope Depot on June 11th. Terese was supposed to call me back from Barrett on the 5th or 6th, and I still have not received a call, which I don’t expect at this point since I have disputed the charge. I went to Hope Depot and they wouldn’t help me and told me I had to go to Barrett Outdoor Living. They breached their contract, never kept me informed. Their excuse was I was making excuses and I should have told them. My point to Angie’s List customers is they need to be cautious when dealing with Home Depot, especially with installations and that sort of thing, as well as All Phases. They were caught in numerous lies. I finally spoke with the owner of the company after I cancelled the service. He asked if there was anything he could do, and of course I told him no because the time frame was well gone. A number of other companies have already been recommended to me through Angie’s List. I will certainly not be using Home Depot or All Phases again. To their credit, Home Depot or their affiliate, Barrett Outdoor Living, refunded the full amount charged to my credit card. This process took about one week to complete. Good for them. It was the right thing to do.
Description of Work: I purchased a pre-paid fencing service.

This review is not about Home Depot (which traditionally has very poor customer service) but one of the HD employees that made my visit very pleasant. His name is Robert Laing. The head broke on my Troybuilt weedwacker and I did not know how to remove and replace it.Robert took the time to show me how to remove the head and replace it w/a new one. Robert also went over and above what I expected when he helped me with a security door that I had purchased. I wish that Robert was with me when I went to a different section of the store to buy a lockset for the door.I told the worker there that I needed a lockset for a security door and the one that I bought (on his recommendation ) was not the correct lockset. If all of home depot's employees were like Robert Laing...It would be a great place to shop.

Still planning to bring installation problems to attention of Home Depot.
Description of Work: Carpet looks nice. Installers failed to re-install sliding door guides for closets. Lots of carpet left over that was paid for so too much waste and cost. The installers blamed the measurers.

I walked into the door section of Home Depot on a very busy day. Michael Howard made me his priority and showed me everything I needed to know about doors and which doors would be the best value for my home. He did not try to sell me the most expensive doors, but made sure I got exactly what I needed for my home. He followed up with me after the order, caught a mistake where I was overcharged and refunded my money instantly. Mr Howard was funny and knowledgeable, which was perfect for this door challenged woman.
Description of Work: Met with a door specialist and explained how I need to replace 3 sets of doors due to wood rot. Michael Howard was very patient with my questions, and showed me the difference between good and great doors. He did not try to sell me the most expensive doors, instead helped me choose the right doors for my needs. He arranged for a measure, and once the sub had come to my home and made the product list needed, he ordered all my doors. He even called later in the day to say that he had overcharged me and immediately arranged for an instant refund!
